I wish Instant Pots had been invented long ago when I was cooking for a family of five. For many years I used a manual pressure cooker for making Chop Suey, Corned Beef, etc. I just don't cook those things anymore for the two of us. Even so, I learned things from your video that I didn't know back then about pressure cooking. Thanks for a really good video. BTW, I love your hair!
I finally took my 3 qt Instant Pot out of the box, and also the accessories which I purchased a year after getting the pot. I will be using them to prepare the meals I like like soups, chicken, and other dishes which is easy to cook in it. I will be using it to boil eggs which I used with the fried rice I make and the Rice-A-Roni meals which I have at home. Since I am living alone I do all of my own cooking and thank you for the tips you have put in your videos.
I use mine for blanching fresh veggies from the garden for freezing. I love making Yogurt, mine has a Yogurt button. I do use my preset buttons and just adjust the time. I think they work great. I agree I love using it for many things it is not the best method for all cooking. Thanks Karen for sharing this very helpful video.
I Had a instant pot as a gift from my children , it’s 6 L , model Max it didn’t have the release manually released button, like the other model . It’s have a auto release air pressure button. Can you update and give some advice on how to use this model. This is my first instant pot didn’t want to return or exchange...it was a beautiful gift 🎁 . Thank you 😊 so much for all the info.🙏🏻
I have the pot you have in the video and I'm very glad I found you video cause I was ready to return it or throw it in the closet and forget about it. I'm totally not liking the smell the plastic ring has, doing the vinegar steam to see if it works. Has anyone bought an xtra inner pot to make 2 meals at once and avoid washing through the cooking? again THANK YOU! ♥
Almedia Seal Yes! I bought an extra stainless pot liner for my 6-quart model and have used it many times. Example: Cook your chicken in one and while it rests use the second pot to cook your corn on the cob without having to transfer and wash pots while preparing the meal.
@@loridarnell9002 Thanks cause buying the extra one crossed my mind and then got sidetracked by the "why". Guess all great minds think alike! Did my first pot of beans today and tasted just like the ones I cook for 2 hours.
@@karenbellessapeterse actually my girlfriend would find it helpful since she's a little confused on how to work a instant pot. She makes wild brown rice in it and broccoli though ☺
Thank you for this video. I didn't know it is better to quick release meat. My IP makes the best yogurt. It's so much better than the store bought kind. Also, the IP makes better rice than my rice cooker.
Hi Karen, Thank you! I did a lot of research prior to buying the Instant Pot. Never pressure cooked before, found it interesting. It certainly makes cooking easier.
I have a pot that was a standing mixer bowl that has a rim underneath the pot, can I use this as pip without a trivet? Can I even use this in my instapot? Can anyone help me please? I'm new to instapot and have some accessories but not many, so I want to see if this can save me a little money until I can afford to buy another one.
I'm sure you have lots of bowl, pots/pans, etc. lying around your kitchen that are suitable. Basically, anything that fits in the Instant Pot inner liner and is "heatproof" (stainless steel, pyrex, ceramic, aluminum, etc) is ok to use although each has their own pros/cons depending on the type of food being prepared. I've wrapped food in tin foil and put on a trivet to cook. The reason for a trivet in PIP cooking is to keep the vessel containing the food above the liquid in the pot liner. I've only had my 6qt Duo Plus for about 1 year but I would be lost without it.
#23 - How can you QR and add vegetables in, and then NPR? Do you mean to QR before the time is up on the dish? Like if the meat dish should cook for 30 minutes, you can QR after 25, add in the vegetables, and then build up new pressure (which extends the total cook time some), and then NPR after the last 5 minutes are done? And why won’t that toughen the meat?

What do you do when you get the burn notice, start over?
I know, nobody will tell what to do about this! 😕
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 thanks Karen.

😂😂😂I actually called it Insta-pot, but realized it's called Instant Pot. But I still call it Insta-pot 😂😂😂
Omgosh!! This just scared me even more!! 🤯🙀🤦♀️ I'm gonna burn my house down! ACK!!
What about 3 quiet, I see most of them are about 6 or 8 quartz
Thank you for this! I received an instant pot for Xmas and I still haven't opened it!🤣
Kristen sent me 😀
Lost me right off the bat. If I wanna call it Instapot, then all I have to say is I said what I said.
This video could’ve been in 4 minutes but woman like to yammer.
