My parents would always talk about the 1968 storm, Hurricane Low Q, 100+mph winds, we lost our roof, 250,000 houses were damaged in the central belt, 20 people died.
I appreciate this storm is dangerous and all that but her questioning suggests a narrative is being drawn. All the questions are leading - she answers her own questions - all the guy is doing is agreeing with her. Who’s the expert here?
It's nonsense in any event. A record for NI is broadly irrelevant because NI rarely has strong winds. We get 90mph+ here in the Lakes every winter. In 2021 our local weather station recorded 134mph, although for some reason this was deemed 'unofficial'.
Every average summer now comes with red hot furnace End Times TV weather maps if it goes to 25C, and now we've got "unprecedented" End Times Winds.. Whatever naxt?
Feeds into the net zero/climate alarmist narrative. They have been saying "the end of the world is nigh" for a long time now. But hey, there's plenty of money in green tax to be made for our corrupt government.
Utter rubbish. In Donegal in 1997/98 we had a storm which clocked gusts of 120mph at Malin Head. It ripped half the slate roof off my house. A couple of years later in Inishowen we had a Tornado come up the Carndonagh road through the town of Moville which ripped apart two warehouses with focussed winds of over 120mph. This was not usual, but at the same time not extraordinary.
oh my god it’s the heaviest winds in ireland since 1998 they said! oh my god it’s the end of the world. Let’s all listen to phone messages telling the sheep to go home because they care 🤣 maybe a we jab for climate change next 🤣 don’t bet against the sheep excepting something like that
I live in Ramsgate, South-east corner of England and was worried when I saw an alert come up on my phone that Stagecoach was cancelling services, since I was planning to travel on the loop this afternoon. So I checked on the link - and the advisory is for Scotland!. Sorry for Scotland but big sigh of relief from me.
I'm in Glasgow, just got back in the house from attending a funeral. It's wet and windy here like it routinely gets during the winter but all this hype for a storm is crazy.
@@johnreilly4722 Our local Glasgow shop is the only one open and just watched a couple carrying a loaf of bread trying to walk backwards into the wind.,..,,,,
@ Don't get me wrong my friend, the weather is indeed extremely windy and i think it's correct to be advising folks to stay home. The issue where I am in the Scottish Borders is that lots of tiles have come off the old buildings. About 50m from my door there are maybe 10 that have come off a 4 story building and they flew a long way
We had 113mph winds here on the Atlantic coast. I did think the roof would blow off. Incessant very scary winds from 1.30am to 7.30am. A living nightmare
I've heard the worst of this in Belfast and they are defo not overblowing the situation pardon the pun. Worst winds I've heard in years. Batten down the hatches.
Why should I leave? It is my country, born here and paid into a scam system my whole life. It is not me that should leave it is the country that should get a grip.
I wonder how we would have coped 80 years ago if we had had this nanny state in charge back then that we do now. Common sense and making decisions for ourselves now seems to be a thing of the past. Then again, we have bred a generation that is not capable of self decision making unless advised to by Tiktok or TH-cam.
Lord , please be merciful. We are in danger. What’s going on.I don’t know what to do.Never see anything like that in my entire lifetime.People stay home stay safe and pray.
⚠️ RED WARNING ⚠️ Latest from East Yorkshire here, Terrible wind in my house just hit around lunchtime 💨😩 Knew I shouldn’t of had that second tin of beans for lunch 😖💨
Someone I know lost a fence panel. I am now truly panicking and my only hope is that they put my taxes up so we can fix the terrifying extreme climate change weather
My wheelie bin was blown over. It was traumatic.
When I went to bed, I had 2 bins. I woke up this morning with 3 bonus
A tree has fallen through my house. Get a life.
@@AndrewSmith-fj8jj my cat briefly morphed into a flying squirrel.
mine too, don't know how I'm getting over it 😁
two people died last time winds were at 90mph - its not just wheelie bins that fall over
Do not travel, but we'll send out reporters all over and record some of the damage 😂
Or the local people send in photos from the damage that occurred near them. Thinking cap Jerry, put it on 😊
For some yeah, but majority of it is from news reporters. Open your eyes bboykman
Well yeah that's their job, to record and report.
Common sense isn’t so common is it?
Which proves my point lol
Guy with the purple top styled his hair by stepping outside

In terms of energy that was about 1,000 times as powerful as this piddling affair. A breath of wind or a cm of snow and everyone panics.

Creetown in Galloway, Scotland - 105 mph winds formally recorded during the morning with one single gust recorded at 113 mph. A touch breezy I'd say.
I appreciate this storm is dangerous and all that but her questioning suggests a narrative is being drawn. All the questions are leading - she answers her own questions - all the guy is doing is agreeing with her. Who’s the expert here?
well yeah, the narrative is "don't travel unnecessarily in a cyclone."
It's a crappy news station they do that stuff to keep people watching.

Propaganda and scaremongering on another level. It's shameful.
Absolute chaos round my way ! Took the dog for a walk and watched as the wind literally blew an old fella's trilby hat right off !
Pretty much the same story here, some people are even mildly perturbed!
sorry but how is it "record-breaking speeds" if the same speeds was recorded in 1998?
