Being Doggone Insistent

  • The plaintiff claims the defendant stole her three loving dogs and won’t give them back. She’s heartbroken and is suing the defendant for the value of her kidnapped dogs. The defendant insists she took in the dogs out of the goodness of her heart because the plaintiff lost her home, so they’re her dogs now.

Yeah, when she had to try to prove she's a good person from the get go, calling the other person crazy... and have no evidence, you figure she's lying. I fostered a dog for a day and was attached but he wasn't going to work in my home with my other dog, so I had to take him back. I understand getting attached. But, dogs are property and nothing outdoes the law.

@@trekgirl65 The plaintiff had all the evidence she needed to get her dogs back (the text messages describing the agreement). The defendant didn't have any proof (of what she was saying) that:
      - The plaintiff is scamming people
      - Didn't want the dogs back
      - Was changing the story
      - Didn't pay 200 bucks.
It was on the defendant to provide the proof to counter the plaintiffs claims as well as proof that would prove her own claims. Instead she apparently thought that saying "trust me, I don't lie" is proof.

    • @Sara-xk1ns
      @Sara-xk1ns ปีที่แล้ว +5

Me too! I’m really impressed with how the judge handled this case. She told the woman off, but did so respectfully. She had 0 evidence. I really liked when judge said people who are homeless can have dogs and the risqué photo comment. This woman clearly felt like she was better and got attached. Don’t foster dogs if you’ll get attached, I especially wouldn’t foster if I had young kids in the house bc that’s hard for them. I found a stray a few years back, looked online and saw a post for someone trying to get rid of the same dog. My neighbor/friend ended up messaging them saying I found it. It was late at night, local pound wasn’t open but I had called to report I found the dog. These people started blowing up mine and my sisters Facebook, threatening to come fight us over this dog that just the day before they wanted to get rid of. It clearly looked like they had dropped this dog off in my neighborhood, he was found in the back of a parking lot right out of the woods. Very suspicious. I never told these people I was keeping their dog, all I told them was I’d spoken to animal control and was told to bring the dog in the next morning and they could pick their dog up there. I told animal control about the suspicious behavior, the aggressive fb messages and please let us know if the dog was still available after the stray hold bc we would be interested. The “owners” had started to say they couldn’t prove ownership bc they’re trans and got the dog with their old name and now it doesn’t match their ID and all this stuff. It was drama after drama. I do miss that dog, she was adorable and so well behaved, but I would never feel right just keeping a dog I found on the street. Morally I had to do it the right way and let animal control deal with it and follow up if they thought the owners weren’t capable.

The defendant is a horrible person. Just humoring her defense... if she ONLY kept the dogs because the plaintiff said to, and she already had dogs, the kids weren't attached, she couldn't afford them, then why the hell wouldn't she give them back when the plaintiff was begging for them, then taking her to court?! Oh, that's right, because she's a lying thief!
I have cared for dogs professionally (sometimes for up to 3 months), fostered dogs, rehabilitated dogs, and YES, you bond, you love the, like your own, and it's hard as hell to say good bye, but that is what you do, send them HOME to their owners! Damn, every call I get about one of "my bonus hounds" passing away, I bawl and grieve like my own, I'm dedicated to them, but that doesn't give me the right to STEAL them. The ignorance, audacity and pure shitiness of the defendant is pathetic.

Bless your heart. I had to rehome a puppy recently due to legal reasons (only allowed 3 dogs, he was the 4th) it was hard. However, I found him a great home and he is doing well. Doing it all the time like you, I'm not sure I could do it. I get attached to the feral cats outside. Lol

@@ButtonsCasey I’m SO sorry. What you did is so hard, but it’s selfless and the right thing to do at times.
It’s not easy, I’ve had to take breaks from foster for that very reason. I’ve had 3 “foster flops”, ones I fell in love with and no home was “good enough”, ie. the other homes weren’t with me. Lol I just remind myself I’m their recuperation, their healing place before finding their forever home. Dang furry little cuties own my heart.

Seems to me that the defendant felt she made a mistake by selling her dog the first time and when the plaintiff allowed her to babysit the dog she decided she wasn't going to give the dog to the plaintiff again like she did the first time.

Having gone through this personally myself I am so glad the plaintiff got the dogs back, but I wish we had follow up videos showing that they did follow through with the order. Especially since both parties are paid to appear on the show.

Defendant lies like a 10 year old. The lady had texts and she had nothing. She gave he fathers dog away but for a price $ 100 but now her kids are attached to all three? She sold a sick older dog , the dog and two others come back and her kids got attached and now she’s making stories up. Either that or she sold them all on Craig’s list. Tell me plaintiff isn’t from New York, love her accent

A very similar thing happened to me several years ago I was a personal driver for a very wealthy family I would take the dogs in the limousine to the caretaker which is about 5 miles away.
Upon arrival back into town I dropped off my employers and took the limousine to go pick up the dogs and the caretaker decided she did not wanna give them back. She blamed it on me and stated didn’t want to take them which was completely absurd she tried everything she could to keep those dogs until we had a “family friend” go take care of the situation.

I see the real story, the defendant seen the plaintiff moving in with three well-cared for dogs, got jealous and found a way to get the dogs. Waited for the great opportunity and stole the dogs. Refused to return what was not hers to keep. And husband was no longer going to lie for his lying wife no more.
