I vagualy remember an Interview where Oprah Winfrey interviewed Nelson Mandela and she asked him what would he like to say to Americans and one of the things he suggested was "Humility". I am glad to see you are still trying to get that message across. I travelled around the USA mostly Southern States on Greyhound buses in 1981 and the lack of knowledge of the rest of humanity and mountains of hubris meant there wasn't much in the way of humility. But Hispanic and African Americans were more humble as their sense of community gave them a better perspective on what strengthens a community. Back in 1981 I also felt Apartheid was still prevalent in the USA even though the Whites Only Signs weren't around.

Shocking Blue was a Dutch rock band formed in The Hague in 1967. They had a number of psychedelic rock hits throughout the counterculture movement during the 1960s and early 1970s, including "Send Me a Postcard", "Love Buzz", and "Venus," the last of which became their biggest hit and reached number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and many other countries during 1969 and 1970. The band sold 13.5 million records by 1973 but disbanded in 1974

Shocking Blue were the original performers of the song. Guitarist Robbie van Leeuwen, now 76, wrote it. The song was so successful that he can live on the royalties of that song alone. The Netherlands had a lot of great and internationally succesful bands in the late sixties and early seventies. Prime examples being "Radar Love" by Golden Earring and "Russian Spy and I" by The Hunters, featuring guitar virtuoso Jan Akkerman. It makes me proud to be Dutch.
