You know why….this has nothing to do with us and all to do with media value. SC is in the Big10 which is televised by Fox Sports. ESPN owns the SEC coverage. They want to increase the value of their teams to have a better product for selling over Fox Sports. Slamming SC right now will hurt our recruiting and slow the development of our brand which is in the largest sports media region in the country. This will pull revue from the schools and the conference reducing resources and affecting recruiting, thus the idea is that their brands grow more and faster trying ti make them more premium for advertising sales. Just follow the $. SC is the battlefield, but the war is over media value, brand strength and sales between Fox and ESPN.

Mad Dog is the Man! Probably 10-2 really tuff schedule! Our guys are so much bigger and Stronger than last year! This is not the same team. Our Defensive staff is the best in all of College football. We will make the playoffs because we will tackle and our guys will be in the right position this year
If players are university employees, why should they also be students? Calculus and Elizabethan Literature just cut into preparation time. Sorry for the sarcasm, but that's what today's college football has done to me.
As for our record this season…I would be happy with 9-3 with no BIG blowout losses and bowl game victory. I’m trying to temper my expectations. When it comes to NIL I agree with your take Marc. If you’re gonna be a business, run it like one. I thought all along that a bunch of these trips out to SoCal were just all expense vacations for the players and family, and a chance to up their NIL value to the school they previously had decided to attend. I think UM will be a shell of themselves compared to last season. Texas will expose them week 1, and if SC beats them,l week 3, they won't get the credit they deserve for it..but, gotta focus on LSU for now.
I don't know where you get your stats exactly, but I saw Vegas posted USC as underdogs against LSU and Michigan. And, USC's season total over under is at 7.5 which is 1 game less then last years squad at 8-5 with Caleb. Vegas oddsmakers are in the business of making money. Its sounds like Hopium....

I love the optimism here. Let’s be realistic though. OL was not upgraded and depth was not added. And two somewhat undersized players were brought in for DL. Both lines have huge question marks and they are one key injury away from possible disaster. Overall I do think the team will play better but don’t surprised if they still come away with a 7-5 record.
