I'm currently playing Astro Bot and after beating the first planet I can safely say that game is not only a celebration of PlayStation's 30th Anniversary,it's a celebration of the good side of the entire gaming industry,totally deserved the win(s).

I was so naive into expecting a new project into the Half Life series, but I would have never expected for Fumito Ueda and Hideki Kamiya to make a return. Can't wait for Project Robot and Okami's sequel in the near future!
Youre a man of culture. Sadly i dropped in when onimusha got announced and found out about fumito uedas game over retro rebound. Then i directly watched the trailer and fall on the floor. I cried. Sadly it looks like ueda stll needs 2 years. But i at least could see the hype of the okami release

Ueda-san working with Epic Games is crazy, but I guess his Last Guardian experience was obviously really stressful for him so not going back to Sony isn't surprising but also kind of bizarre. But, it's the same as Kojima going to Phil Spencer which, I think he's going to later regret and return to Sony. You just have to let your kids make their own mistakes and have open arms waiting for when they come to their senses and return. Insomniac did the same thing and they're right back now as a first-party Sony acquired dev. Yu Suzuki making another game, though I'm disappointed its not Shenmue IV we now know..... And the same, yeah, I thought it was another Konami remake or remaster. Pretty surprising actually but, if Kamiya is returning to Capcom, maybe we'll see another Viewtiful Joe

Some people are now salty and angry over Astro Bot winning over something like Black Myth Wukong. This might be one of the best GA shows we have ever had, as good as TGA 2017. There are few if any cringy moments or any major blunders to speak of, and we got tons of remarkable and unexpected game announcements i an excited for, such as Okami sequel. I remember that game from when i was a child, i never expected a sequel to ever be a thing, in addition to the revival of Clover Studios as Clovers.
At least Rebirth got one for music - I still listen to some songs from time to time: on our way, sense of kalm, gold saucer theme are awesome. Not to mention main characters themes.
Exactly, they've released games the last four years and the when they finally win another game of Year award, it's by a studio of 60 people... They have to invest more in Japanese devs. Honestly I wish they would revive Japan Studio somehow, give us Gravity Rush 3. I mean if Clovers Studio was able to be revived..

Those “lightning round” awards are genuinely insulting to the devs/artists and game creators. 1. Art direction is one of the most significant elements of video game design… 2. The best multiplayer goty is likely always going to be something that brings a massive community together online. Imagine the hype edit that could be put together showing streamers with the biggest moments/teamwork/kills of the year. 3. They take up time/resources to give an award to a game that isn’t even out yet… meanwhile the art director for Metaphor is just swept under a rug and the show moves on. I think Geoff Keighley is doing a great disservice to not only games as an art form, but gaming as a whole.
Yup, always bothers me. I wish they would go one by one, especially in the beginning. Like after the first award, which was the performance award, they went to three trailers straight. I was like, where are the awards?? This is an award show first and foremost. I feel like before people didn't really care much and just wanted to watch trailers, but these days, people know about studios and the actors. Gaming is bigger than ever, so with social media a lot of us are obsessed with finding out more about these gaming studios and such. They can definitely put more emphasis on the actual awards than just the trailer. Which I do think they are more than before. But those quick rounds are still very frustrating to watch for me. That shouldn't have to happen.
I feel Ryan doesn't get how big of a deal that Witcher trailer was. I know it was only a pre-render in engine, but we Witcher fans are pissing ourself from excitement

There is no way that Naughty Dog’s new game is a 2027 title. 2026 at the latest. They haven’t been showing games with long lead times for a while now (unless it is a marvel game which is a different beast).
All i’m going to say is as far as the community support category goes. BG3 had cross saves broken for months and they really did not reply to any fans on their forums about it. So i’m slightly shocked.

At this point where games already look incredibly impressive, pre rendered trailers just seem so pointless. It's cool, but truly we just want to see gameplay. I like how Sony does reveals, quick CGI announcement trailer, then the next one is just straight up gameplay. Like God of War Ragnarok even, the first they announced was simply the title and a date... That was enough to get people hyped. Then the next thing they showed was the gameplay trailer.

I'm intrigued by the description but I think the trailer was poor. Very bland, about lore no one cares about yet, showed no cinematic gameplay and little-to-no personality. I get it's a teaser but I think it was a poor way to introduce your new IP and try to get people excited about it.

There were really a couple of great announcements but for me by far the info a new Fumito Ueda game is easily the best thing that came out of it. And I also have to mention my man Josef Fares and his new game which looks insane! Damn I love that dude. Please never change!

I love that Ken Kutaragi made it their because I feel like these award shows of any kind tend to be so basic and not so fun and small moments tend to make them look cooler. Astro Bot over THe Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom. I love Sony and Nintendo so no hate but what The Legend of Zelda echoes of Wisdom out does every ps5 exclusive and that's not counting the fake exclusives that's on pc. I enjoy the randomness though. Also Snoop Dog plays both sides he did it in the rap industry and now gaming is not surprising he has a passed of doing that stuff. Sonic Racing crossroads hopefully it's good. Cool video. ^_^

Yeah I guess if you're really into sci fi and fantasy you wouldn't live stuff like uncharted and last of us. I love it all. But I'm super happy they're going with sci fi now. I was recently playing Jak 2 and I love how you can drive flying cars in those small open zones. I wonder if this new game will have some open areas like that two. I really hope so.
No way, an Okami sequel‽ And it looks gorgeous! Wow, and here I was extremely upset because of how unfair it was that Elden Ring never provided viable and great mounted combat so that it may be like a spiritual remaster gameplay-wise to my beloved childhood game Sacred Gold, instead leaving that system as buggy and unpolished as Sonic '06! Thank you, Capcom! This means a lot! Welp, to heII with Elden We Hate Mounted Combat, to heII with mister "The world is unkind, life is unfair, and so am I!" Miyazaki, I'm now waiting for the sequel to my other beloved childhood game, even if its story was not the best, pretty hypocritical, unwise and tacky with its messages, and it had the most emotional of a nonsensical ending ever, complete with what I like, a final boss fight where the theme of your character plays, I adored that game! What a time to have a PS5 ready and able!
ND already said they are not working on a new Jak and Daxter and have left that IP behind and it is up to Sony if they want it be made by another studio. They said once they finish with an IP, they move to the next.
Here were my predictions for the TGA's. Nintendo would announce the next 3D Mario alongside the Switch Too. Sony would have nothing of consequence to show at the TGA Astro Bot would win GOTY. Of the three predictions, I believed the last to be the least likely, even less so than the Switch Too reveal because of the smaller scale of the game and its not smashing sale records working against it. So in spite of striking out twice, I'm still pleased with my predictions because the one I wanted most to happen did.
Didn't think Astro Bot would win it either. You know it's a Game of the Year game, you know that, but is the rest of the industry going to see that? It's a game people are saying is NINTENDO ON PLAYSTATION, how is that not an automatic? It was my Game of the Year but other Game Awards Shows gave it to Black Myth Wukong and Metaphor so, I was thinking it was going to come down to both of those, but I thought Black Myth Wukong had enough hype behind it, I thought Black Myth Wukong would win it. Final Fantasy Rebirth, I know people wanted and expected but, we'd already had Final Fantasy Remake so, I was just as shocked to see Astro Bot and was a little choked up in the moment. Said it before and I'll say it time and time again, Scott Rodhe is the man in the shadows, the hidden gem of PlayStation and Sony Interactive Entertainment. With Shu gone, Scott Rodhe is all that's left. EVERYONE in Sony Interactive Entertainment praises this guy: former Game Director David Jaffe worships Scott Rodhe and will stand behind him the rest of his life, Corey Barlog mentions his name constantly, Neil Druckmann during his Last of Us Part II acceptance speech, and now Team Asobi, Scott Rodhe is a legend. There's Phil Spencer sitting on the corner across the isle from PlayStation. (Man he's gotten really fat) And he's just got this aura about him sitting there like: "Well, PlayStation wins another one. What've we got to do? Why can't we find a Naughty Dog, a Sucker Punch, a Team Asobi, an Insomniac (funny because Xbox had their one chance with Insomniac), why can't we do this?" But, you look at all the drama going on at Xbox, they couldn't keep their Game Directors at The Initiative, they couldn't keep Rod Ferguson at The Coalition with all that Xbox money and being the one to call the shots, and it's abundantly clear Xbox has horrible executives that are hated and don't know what they're doing. PlayStation is the opposite that allows their devs to do what they need and if it's not the right decision, Shu Yoshida and Scott Rodhe had such a good rapport, that Sony devs actually trust them. Nintendo, Miyamoto has been there forever as has the Game Director for The Legend of Zelda games, problem is, they're not mentoring anyone so when they're gone, what does Nintendo do? You never see Miyamoto or well, either of them with anyone except an interpreter. PlayStation's current CEOs are morons, as was Jim Ryan, I'm including him, but their team of Vice Presidents and Senior Vice President's clearly take of and know how to cultivate and do business because they're gamers themselves from the start. Microsoft? Matt Booty and Sarah Bond are Harvard And Yale grads that studied business and fell into gaming, it's not who they are, and Sarah Bond in and of herself is a woke publicity stunt, smart people in the gaming world know this and don't trust her and won't get behind her. John Linnamen from Digital Foundry describes her as "Word Salad". She'll ignorantly tell you what she thinks you wanna hear but she's far offbase it's sad for Xbox gamers. J. Allard, Sheamus Blackley, that crew during the original Xbox and Xbox 360 era were legit gamers, computer nerds, but gamers and Xbox can't get any more of them and nobody, even for Microsoft money wants to even try. Maybe the guy from Rare they promoted would change that, but he still has to answer to Matt Booty and Sarah Bond that don't know Jack s*** about gaming. So, yeah! Super excited for ASTRO BOT, for Team Asobi, and for PlayStation. For the VGAs, they're sitting at three now: God of War, The Last of Us Part II, and now Astro Bot. Nintendo has The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and the rest is a mass of third-party games. Fromsoft owns two with Sekiro and Elden Ring, if Sony ends up acquiring Kadokawa then Formsoft pretty much becomes PlayStation first party if they can acquire the other 15% share then they reap all the profit, unless the 15% share helps Sony fund the game but, with their track record, From Soft could win. 2025 Ghost of Yotei will likely be up for Game of the Year, maybe against Indiana Jones. Problem is, Microsoft, again, was stupid and released the game the start of the new gaming year, that leaves it a whole year to be buried and forgotten amongst next years new games so, not very good news for Indiana Jones. It hasn't had much of a spotlight either so yeah..... Good deal, what a surprise, eh?
I say Intergalactic will be a late 2026 game at the earliest. But the trailer was ingame engine so they certainly ship it with PS5 hardware in mind. And I can probably already bet that it will get a PS6 port on PS6 launch day. For Witcher 4... I would say we are talking 2027 or 2028 and I wouldn't be surprised if it would become a launch titel for the new gen consoles. But since it is a UE5 game and while I guess UE5 still evolves over the years it is currently really heavy on the CPU. Which is kinda worrisome since current gen cosoles kinda struggle with CPU heavy titels. I just hope that when Witcher 4 launches it will be playable on last gen consoles (PS5/XboxSS/SX) and not be unplayable like Cyberpunk 2077 was in this generation.
I’ve yet to buy a Naughty Dog game... as great as they are they are just not my thing. Intergalactic is definitely looking like my thing (so far). Can’t wait to see more about that game.
Don’t worry Ryan I’m behind on Elden Ring too. Only just platinumed Demon’s Souls remake on PS5 Pro. My two favourite things on this were Witcher 4 and GenDesign’s game. I’m intrigued by Naughty Dog’s new game but it felt a bit uninspired and generic to me. Hope I’m wrong though, I thought the same about TLOU when I first saw it at E3 in 2012 and the first one is in my top three games of all time.

At this point where games already look incredibly impressive, pre rendered trailers just seem so pointless. It's cool, but truly we just want to see gameplay. I like how Sony does reveals, quick CGI announcement trailer, then the next one is just straight up gameplay. Like God of War Ragnarok even, the first they announced was simply the title and a date... That was enough to get people hyped. Then the next thing they showed was the gameplay trailer.

I'm intrigued by the description but I think the trailer was poor. Very bland, about lore no one cares about yet, showed no cinematic gameplay and little-to-no personality. I get it's a teaser but I think it was a poor way to introduce your new IP and try to get people excited about it.

There were really a couple of great announcements but for me by far the info a new Fumito Ueda game is easily the best thing that came out of it. And I also have to mention my man Josef Fares and his new game which looks insane! Damn I love that dude. Please never change!

I love that Ken Kutaragi made it their because I feel like these award shows of any kind tend to be so basic and not so fun and small moments tend to make them look cooler. Astro Bot over THe Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom. I love Sony and Nintendo so no hate but what The Legend of Zelda echoes of Wisdom out does every ps5 exclusive and that's not counting the fake exclusives that's on pc. I enjoy the randomness though. Also Snoop Dog plays both sides he did it in the rap industry and now gaming is not surprising he has a passed of doing that stuff. Sonic Racing crossroads hopefully it's good. Cool video. ^_^

Intergalactic: The first Nughty Dog game I've been interested in since Jak and Daxter and Jak II.
The enemy at the end reminds me of Jak.
Yeah I guess if you're really into sci fi and fantasy you wouldn't live stuff like uncharted and last of us. I love it all. But I'm super happy they're going with sci fi now. I was recently playing Jak 2 and I love how you can drive flying cars in those small open zones. I wonder if this new game will have some open areas like that two. I really hope so.

Miyazaki, I'm now waiting for the sequel to my other beloved childhood game, even if its story was not the best, pretty hypocritical, unwise and tacky with its messages, and it had the most emotional of a nonsensical ending ever, complete with what I like, a final boss fight where the theme of your character plays, I adored that game!

Here were my predictions for the TGA's.

Of the three predictions, I believed the last to be the least likely, even less so than the Switch Too reveal because of the smaller scale of the game and its not smashing sale records working against it. So in spite of striking out twice, I'm still pleased with my predictions because the one I wanted most to happen did.

Didn't think Astro Bot would win it either. You know it's a Game of the Year game, you know that, but is the rest of the industry going to see that? It's a game people are saying is NINTENDO ON PLAYSTATION, how is that not an automatic? It was my Game of the Year but other Game Awards Shows gave it to Black Myth Wukong and Metaphor so, I was thinking it was going to come down to both of those, but I thought Black Myth Wukong had enough hype behind it, I thought Black Myth Wukong would win it. Final Fantasy Rebirth, I know people wanted and expected but, we'd already had Final Fantasy Remake so, I was just as shocked to see Astro Bot and was a little choked up in the moment.
Said it before and I'll say it time and time again, Scott Rodhe is the man in the shadows, the hidden gem of PlayStation and Sony Interactive Entertainment. With Shu gone, Scott Rodhe is all that's left. EVERYONE in Sony Interactive Entertainment praises this guy: former Game Director David Jaffe worships Scott Rodhe and will stand behind him the rest of his life, Corey Barlog mentions his name constantly, Neil Druckmann during his Last of Us Part II acceptance speech, and now Team Asobi, Scott Rodhe is a legend.
There's Phil Spencer sitting on the corner across the isle from PlayStation. (Man he's gotten really fat) And he's just got this aura about him sitting there like: "Well, PlayStation wins another one. What've we got to do? Why can't we find a Naughty Dog, a Sucker Punch, a Team Asobi, an Insomniac (funny because Xbox had their one chance with Insomniac), why can't we do this?" But, you look at all the drama going on at Xbox, they couldn't keep their Game Directors at The Initiative, they couldn't keep Rod Ferguson at The Coalition with all that Xbox money and being the one to call the shots, and it's abundantly clear Xbox has horrible executives that are hated and don't know what they're doing. PlayStation is the opposite that allows their devs to do what they need and if it's not the right decision, Shu Yoshida and Scott Rodhe had such a good rapport, that Sony devs actually trust them. Nintendo, Miyamoto has been there forever as has the Game Director for The Legend of Zelda games, problem is, they're not mentoring anyone so when they're gone, what does Nintendo do? You never see Miyamoto or well, either of them with anyone except an interpreter.
PlayStation's current CEOs are morons, as was Jim Ryan, I'm including him, but their team of Vice Presidents and Senior Vice President's clearly take of and know how to cultivate and do business because they're gamers themselves from the start. Microsoft? Matt Booty and Sarah Bond are Harvard And Yale grads that studied business and fell into gaming, it's not who they are, and Sarah Bond in and of herself is a woke publicity stunt, smart people in the gaming world know this and don't trust her and won't get behind her. John Linnamen from Digital Foundry describes her as "Word Salad". She'll ignorantly tell you what she thinks you wanna hear but she's far offbase it's sad for Xbox gamers. J. Allard, Sheamus Blackley, that crew during the original Xbox and Xbox 360 era were legit gamers, computer nerds, but gamers and Xbox can't get any more of them and nobody, even for Microsoft money wants to even try. Maybe the guy from Rare they promoted would change that, but he still has to answer to Matt Booty and Sarah Bond that don't know Jack s*** about gaming.
So, yeah! Super excited for ASTRO BOT, for Team Asobi, and for PlayStation. For the VGAs, they're sitting at three now: God of War, The Last of Us Part II, and now Astro Bot. Nintendo has The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and the rest is a mass of third-party games. Fromsoft owns two with Sekiro and Elden Ring, if Sony ends up acquiring Kadokawa then Formsoft pretty much becomes PlayStation first party if they can acquire the other 15% share then they reap all the profit, unless the 15% share helps Sony fund the game but, with their track record, From Soft could win. 2025 Ghost of Yotei will likely be up for Game of the Year, maybe against Indiana Jones. Problem is, Microsoft, again, was stupid and released the game the start of the new gaming year, that leaves it a whole year to be buried and forgotten amongst next years new games so, not very good news for Indiana Jones. It hasn't had much of a spotlight either so yeah.....

I say Intergalactic will be a late 2026 game at the earliest. But the trailer was ingame engine so they certainly ship it with PS5 hardware in mind. And I can probably already bet that it will get a PS6 port on PS6 launch day.
For Witcher 4... I would say we are talking 2027 or 2028 and I wouldn't be surprised if it would become a launch titel for the new gen consoles. But since it is a UE5 game and while I guess UE5 still evolves over the years it is currently really heavy on the CPU. Which is kinda worrisome since current gen cosoles kinda struggle with CPU heavy titels.
I just hope that when Witcher 4 launches it will be playable on last gen consoles (PS5/XboxSS/SX) and not be unplayable like Cyberpunk 2077 was in this generation.
I’ve yet to buy a Naughty Dog game... as great as they are they are just not my thing. Intergalactic is definitely looking like my thing (so far). Can’t wait to see more about that game.
I get them(and other games) when they're half off. I dont pay over $30 for games that consist of non stop cutscenes and boring dialogue.

My two favourite things on this were Witcher 4 and GenDesign’s game. I’m intrigued by Naughty Dog’s new game but it felt a bit uninspired and generic to me. Hope I’m wrong though, I thought the same about TLOU when I first saw it at E3 in 2012 and the first one is in my top three games of all time.
Okami and onimusha got me too but gen designs game had me in tears even though we saw not much
