Thank you! We did have a part time team on content/design/marketing and another full time team member on engineering (but we never quite figured out how to film everyone lol). Though I didn't write any code so you're right it was just two developers
@@ninobach7456Yup. Almost like being able to walk the talk and not just slapping AI / Web3 / Metaverse / Buzzword on stuff 😌. Awesome documentation and well earned ❤️ !
My jaw dropped at the part when you told the story of how your VC literally quit his fund to copy you guys. Kudos to you both you are absolute legends for powering through a founder's ultimate nightmare!
This is so inspiring it’s insane. Most of the time the media only shows the “overnight success” but they fail to show the struggles and failures along the way. Thank you for sharing this process with us. Wish you guys the best!
You two should start a TH-cam channel. You guys have great energy and you’re both so positive. It would be a great way to find talent and bring attention to your next business
I am so glad you captured the startup building journey from start to finish. Super fascinating and insightful to see the behind the scenes successes and struggles! I just got some new motivation in life after watching this!
The consistent resilience and optimistic attitude you both have is incredible to watch and no doubt a huge reason why you both were successful. Congratulations and thanks so much for sharing this amazing story :)
Well done guys!! This shows how hard they worked even if they failed couple of times. Such a motivation as well, everything is possible if you push yourself a bit!
I'm glad to hear that being an iOS developer brings you so much joy and hope! Embrace your passion for development and continue to create amazing things.❤❤❤
From the bottom of my heart, congratulations. Your dedication, hard work, persistence and earnest attitude towards adapting to your environment and staying steadfast in all of your efforts to succeed is amazing. Your ability to adapt to the market demand at the beginning of the video was inspiring and I really enjoyed watching this! Thank you for filming and I hope you continue to do this! You just got a new sub! Also I'm a 4th year at Berkeley right now, go bears!
Currently in a seed round, specifically rejection face. Feels good to see others going through the same and eventually getting that VC Check. Thanks for the boost and congrats!
this was simply amazing to watch... Like you guys just literally served through problems to find a good idea. Seems so obvious but very difficult to be committed to. Well-done!
This is amazing! I truly enjoyed your documentation of the journey. This app was innovative, thought out, and extremely well timed with covid (very fortunate for that). I hope this video inspires more founders to document their journeys. Whether their startup succeeds or not.
Thank goodness you brought this up! Truly, investing has changed my perspective on how one can succeed in life; working multiple jobs isn't the optimal way to attain financial freedom and unfortunately, we discover this later in life. Currently earn as much as 10 grand weekly and this has improved my financial life. Great piece!
Best life changing advice is to pick a good financial mentor and let them guide you towards wealth. This really saves you from loss and time wasting. I am glad I know Olivia Sullivan.
That was such a great video! My friend an I are at the same stage right now, we raised our first round and we're running out of money and trying to make this work. This morning was bad for us, but after watching this I got more excited. Well done!
Absolutely love that you had the idea to document as you built. So cool seeing 2017 you talk about the company - it sometimes feels like your watching another person (maybe you technically are?? who knows). Excited to see what's next
this video has inspired me and this might actually be one of the most entertaining videos I have watched on youtube in a long time because I was so invested in this video
This is what makes America so great. The opportunity for young, hard working engineers to build products that people actually want, and the environment to bring them to life. These are the stories that need to be pushed out to the rest of the world so we can keep attracting the best and brightest.
For anyone wondering how much they sold Onyx for: Curefit has acquired 100% stake in Onyx in a pure share swap deal at a consideration Rs 91.84 crore or $12.7 million. Onyx's co-founders James Sha and Asaf Avidan Antonir got shares worth $5 million each and will have a stake of 0.65% each in the Bengaluru-based company. Feb 5, 2021 Curefit is now worth over 1.5 billion usd, meaning that 0.65 percent of it is worth roughly 1 million usd. Congrats guys!!!!
This is way too impressive not to be viral. I loved every bit of it. When I saw what the app did in the begining (home workouts) I anticipated the astounding rise that'll occour when the timeline hits the Covid lockdowns and so it did. Not just impressive but inspiring.
This is a great video! Love the editing and thought that went into all of it glad the algorithm is picking up on it I hope another project is in the works behind the scenes :)
I don't know how or why I stumbled across this video but all I can say is, genuinely, fair play and congratulations, gentlemen. One hell of an achievement. All the best for the future.
This is really good content, leaving aside all motivational speaking bs on youtube, this is a person I’d allow to teach me how to make money in the new age
Just finished watching it and I have to say this was probably one of the biggest reasons I decided to pursue my ideas! Hope to come back here again after a while with good news! Thanks a lot guys!
A simple, authentic and amazing video, I've been in a crazy and endless process of building a product for two years, you have compressed the whole experience of the amazing and not simple process called "startup" and folded into 26 minutes, difficulties, despair, hope and success, there are a lot of "inspirational" videos on TH-cam from all kinds of coaches, but a video like yours He is a real inspiration for you are true champions!! Humble and professionals all the way... Good luck with your next projects, Its dream to recive mentors like you, or even to be partners in my product, if you are available and jump to israel I would be more than happy to sit down with you.

Brother, so proud of both of y’all, lol i dont even know you guys but so happy that you guys had the persistence to keep going and stuck w making the video!
Depending on how much they sold to the original Angels and VC, they probably made anywhere from 10-50% of that before taxes split amongst the shareholders (the first employees probably got shares as well). So probably somewhere in the realm of 0.5-3 million per person overall. Not bad.
One of the best inspirational and transparent videos of entrepreneurship out there, could we see a future video explaining the reasons to why certain previous ideas failed to execute?
Not sure when we'll do another video, but in general I'd say there was no obvious interest/demand from our user research. Some ideas were actually decent ideas but the technology wasn't there yet to do it well
Wow, this story is amazing! I am close to never commenting on TH-cam videos, but this video is at another level. I love the dedication and commitment to make it work and how it turned out in the end! 🎉
This is so so so cool! I’m in the middle of this process and resonated with so much of this. It actually brought a tear to my eye. Thanks for documenting everything and thank you for the inspiration.

Wow this come into my feed for some reason, I am creatin a Digital Identity Company, and hearing from someone from US the struggles to have a seed and make things happen gives me more hope to keep fighting. Shouting from Mozambique and happy if we could connect.
Great story and thanks for sharing! I understand the reasoning behind going to VCs before releasing so you could build and scale quickly, but wouldn't releasing and growing organically put you in a better place when you talk to VCs? E.g saying 'our app is getting this many users per month who are paying X amount' surely would put you in a better place than "we have an idea and we think people might like it, but we don't have much proof"
Thank you! We would definitely be in a better position to raise with traction, but funding helped accelerate things. We wanted to hire additional developers to build a better product/faster, and we needed at least some funding to get the motion capture suit, create the initial content, etc.
Man I'm glad I'm just an engineer at a municipal utility. Watching this I definitely don't think I could do the start up life. It looks rewarding as hell but also grueling
Thanks for this content. Very transparent. I really like the part where you showed the rejection emails for the VC's.... Congratulations on persevering through
Usually I feel like videos like these are so pretentious, but this was far from it. Really interesting seeing you fail and succeed, just shows what you can achieve with a good idea and determination. Great watch!
It's amazing how just two developers were able to pull this off up until the acquisition.
