    The equalizer wet bolt kit is a great upgrade and glad to ear you added lateral support to spring hangers
    But the most noticeable for me along with everything was the Sumo springs they stopped the bounce ,reduced sway and porposing. I’ll next be adding custom mounted shocks along with Sumos but the shock kits they make can’t be used with
    The Sumos . One guy brags about being able to leave a glass of water on his counter after placing shocks.🍻

      All great upgrades, but at what point would independent be a better solution? Asking for myself also

    Thank you for this video, I have done this job for just the spring replacements, and definately getting the entire frame both sides jacked up and supported made this job so much easier. I did not lift my trailer as it is already pretty high but I did replace the leaf springs, wet bolts and CRE 3000. I still have the other side to do (it got too dark). I already replaced the other leaf springs (broke one on the road). So only wet bolt kit and CRE 3000 on the other side.

    Looks pretty straight forward. After changing the blown rear axle in '05 Nissan Titan from heavy trailering, that looks like a snap!

      Pretty easy, especially if you have a couple big jacks.

    I also have quite a bit of off road experience and 20+ yrs in automotive testing. With all the videos I’ve seen with leaf spring hangers on travel and 5th wheels, I’d say they need to install some kind of track bar to eliminate the side loading. I would think the lift kits would amplify the side loads on the shackle brackets. Good luck to you and keep us updated on the durability… and congrats on expecting the new little addition.

      We didn't include it in the video but all hangers were welded in and we added side to side brackets

      Agree...especially with the heavy 5th wheels. Substantial side loading in tight turns! I use the MORryde X Factor cross braces.

    Awesome video!!! Truly amazing detail and quality. Im doing this exact same upgsde to my Coachmen Apex Aultralite as soon as the leafs get here.
    Side note, it may not be the case but it almost looks as if your hanger extension that you bolted on could have been flipped around to sort of wrap around the original hanger. It almost looks like it was designed to do that...but maybe not. See 7:12

    • @AdventureEndeavor

      Thank you, I thought the same but installed according to the directions. Als we didn't film it but we welded in all the hangers and made cross tubes. Thanks for watching, purchasing though our link when you are ready really helps us out.

  • @flash8051
    @flash8051 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    It's called an equalizer...😄 It doesn't really do much to absorb shock and smooth out the rough roads... that is not their purpose. If you've ever seen video of these in action, you can see that they just simply rock back and forth to "equalize" (hence, the name) the movement of each set of leaf springs. Very minimal, but still noticeable improvement, depending on what your baseline was.
    The rubber bushings are just a slight upgrade, but the heavy duty shackles and wet bolts are always a good idea.

    So jealous here.. We just got in our lift kits recently and were all set to install this week but somehow we were sent the old correct track brackets (which they don't make anymore so not sure how that happened) for 2 of the sets. Hopefully our order gets figured out and reshipped quickly! Your install looks great btw!

    Im actually doing this this weekend but I'm adding morryde x-factor braces in. It allows for more cross support because we all know the suspension brackets last forever , wink wink!!!

  • @gregwalker731
    @gregwalker731 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Just a friendly word of caution. If you raise the trailer you need cross bracing. I just returned from Alaska with a broken trailer frame. I had the correct track to raise the trailer and because of my height it put too much torque on my frame. I now have cross bracing and all is good.

    • @AdventureEndeavor
      @AdventureEndeavor  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the advice. Do you mean from shaco hanger to shackle hanger? Because we did that as well, we also welded in gussets under every shackle hanger

    • @gregwalker731
      @gregwalker731 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Side to side. My frame flexed from the torque of the taller suspension (think of a longer wrench or cheater bar). My frame cracked horizontally on both sides just above the wheels. I installed angle iron from frame hanger to frame hanger with diagonal bracing from the angle iron to the frame. Hope this helps and safe travels!

    • @AdventureEndeavor

      Yup we did the same just didn't film it

  • @nicholasliz0420
    @nicholasliz0420 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    The lift kit drop brackets are a very bad idea. What happens over time while off-roading with them is they Warp and bend because they're longer and it creates leverage. You're better off using a set of axle blocks with longer u bolts. Otherwise fantastic video

    • @AdventureEndeavor
      @AdventureEndeavor  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah we know they are not ideal, we plan on having a local welder gusset all the hangers and install cross over tubes. It will be very strong when finished.👍💪

    Why not take the jacks off and weld a trailer receiver (female) to the frame and weld the male to the top of the jack so you can remove them as needed when going off road? Also I’d suggest having someone fab up skid rails for your plumbing. lol possibly speaking from experience

    • @AdventureEndeavor

    Two comments....first you should have replaced the nylon spring bushings with bronze....second you need to reinforce the spring hangers. They tear off too often without the lift kit. You probably doubled the chance of a failure with the lift.
