Put some respect on this man's name. Hardly anyone showed to his funeral. He is the one who interviews you before you get to go to heaven or hell. He is up there with the immortals. There never has nor ever will be another one like him. I miss Mean Gene.
It still boggles my mind nobody showed, I know people are busy but he was buried in the Atlanta area I believe and there was plenty of talent living within few hours driving distance, no excuses.
Exactly! You could understand if he had a reputation for being a jerk or had a criminal record but to the best of my knowledge he was clean. His iconic work did a lot to further careers and the business in general. Boggles the mind that more people didn’t show or make tribute.

He did not want an open funeral, he chose to have it private with immediate family and few closest friends. What are you talking about no one showed? He wanted a private funeral and he had his wishes met.

I miss the old days when guys were named Gene, Verne, and Butch.
The average wrestler back then actually looked like he could kick your ass in a bar fight and would whip you with a belt for acting up as a kid. Now half of them look like they work at Target or Home Depot on the weekends.

I was at the first Wrestlemania 1 closed circuit event in Allen Park MI. It was sold out. We bought tickets early. There were some satellite issues at the beginning but it was still a real blast! PPV experiences were never as much fun as closed circuit.

It obviously paid off but a lot of these matches were questionable.
He should have had Santana take the belt from Valentine.
Steamboat should have wrestled Bret Hart.
The body slam match was trash and the Main Event should have been Hogan vs Piper for the title.
Hogan should have dropped the title to Piper Months earlier only to regain it at WM.

According to legend, it was Howard Finkel who came up with the title of 'Wrestlemania'.
Howard Finkel himself said in an interview that he suggested the name to Vince and he got the idea from Beatlemania in the 60s.
I heard Howard Finkle cane up with Wrestlemania. Vince coined it.
