The Garry Moore Variety Show - arguably the best variety show ever.

Is this "2nd season" of IGAS referring to another network than the one on which it originally aired, CBS? From what I've seen on TH-cam, Bess Myerson replaced Jayne Meadows not in '53-'54 but sometime in spring/summer of '59. According to the discussion, this particular show taped in early fall of '59, first I've seen of Bess.

I think I see what the problem is with the cigarette commercials, first of all,. the commercials are NOT long enough like today's TV, where we have 3 or 4 minutes commercials, AND within those commercials, we have a prescription drug that we should has our doctor about if it is right for you? Then two commercials later, we have the law firm of FU, FU and FU offering to sue on your behalf because you asked your doctor 3 years ago about if the "popular prescription then IF that drug was right for you, and it was, and you took it", as NOW you have your liver falling out and these attorneys can now save you while you are dying. I think we need to go back to dancing cigarettes. Something is very wrong, very wrong. Thanks for posting excellent entertainment.

Amen regarding the I've Got A Secret smoking warning seen. The video is great. Smoking is idiotic.

So is most of the "medicine" they push on us in commercials today (and through our doctors).

Good to see you put the ciggie ads back. There were none in the Andy Griffith episode you posted before; only the Winston setpieces were present.
