I love how Rock and Roll was for the teenagers. My mum was a teen in the early 60s, and played the records, tapes, to me in the early 90s as a kid and I was hooked, through my teens, into adulthood, and now older or similar age to the panel was in 63. Best genre of music ever, for all age groups.
I’m here in March 2024 laughing!!! Not sure when in 1963 this show was taped, but I was in high school then and the Beatles were almost taking over! Heard my first Beatles song in the Fall of 1963 went to school and hardly anyone had heard it in the radio - yet!!! Took very little time before everyone knew thst music had changed! And I’m still a rocker to this day (just added hard rock a bit later😄)!
Rock and roll as older performers were always trying to "improve" it. They kept thinking r & r would soon fade away although it had already been around for years. I have to say that the panel, particularly Bess and Betsy, did a good job with only a few seconds of instruction. It's amusing to note that, as of this show, aired September, 30, 1963, Beatlemania was brewing. It's interesting to note that George Harrison was in NYC that day, going home after visiting his sister in Missouri.

He was bit off in his prediction about the World Series: the Dodgers swept the series 4 games to none over the Yankees.
I had to look it up, but truth!
And the Dodgers almost swept the Yankees again this year, lol. They did win the series 4 games to 1.
