Probably a bit late to respond to this, but we find it's only important to jump when their about to carry you, and it's best if they pick you up while ramping off a slope or trimping. However when you're actually flying, the only way they can jump off the floor in mid air is if the downed player is spam jumping (can be scrolling, macroing, spamming spacebar, and maybe even just holding spacebar but I can't confirm that though). It also won't let you jump when flying if the person carrying isn't sliding. Let me know if this helps at all or if it's still confusing lol
