HOW TO DISASSEMBLE A TYPE R

- So I've had many people ask how to take certain things off of this car so I decided to make this video for you guys. This is very similar to ALL civic x models. maybe some variations but the screws and clips and stuff are about the same. Below you will find all the points of what you may be looking for.
Front bumper: 2:24
Headlights: 9:25
Side skirts: 10:12
Door panel: 12:36
Door handle: 14:15
Mirror: 15:58
Rear bumper: 18:00 & 34:30
Taillights: 20:44 & 27:05
Fender flare: 22:37
Hatch/Trunk: 23:15
Spoiler: 24:26
Vortex generators: 26:00
Hatch cover: 28:11
Antenna: 30:00
Fender: 32:20
Roof weather strips: 39:50

Hey im building my fk7 to have a oem type r body so this was super helpful ty! I had no idea had the fender flares were clipped on like that.
what about the 2 black rubber pieces at the bottom of the panel? it has 3 holes that both clip into. they are located on either side of the latch. you totally skipped that and that is the only thing I haven't done before. everything else, I've done a kazillion times, and you explained everything very well for people who don't know. great job! People listen to this guy, very good at what he does and very thorough with how things could happen. he'll save you from learning by breaking plastic.
Which ones are you talking about? Above the headlights?
Wish I saw this video earlier. I had such a tough time disassembling my Type R. Now the whole car is pretty much finished except for the bumpers and side skirts. Thank you so much! I was trying to figure it out myself but couldn't

Thank you so much for this video. I need to replace my side skirts and there was no proper video of how to do so. The only thing you didn’t show is how to put it back on. I understand you should put it on the same way that it was taken off but is there some sort of procedure with the clips of how you slide it back on? Call it seems to remove it is very easy but I’m wondering about reinstalling it

Thank you for this video. I replaced my side skirt because it had small imperfections. My only issue is after replacing the side skirt the The black air vents that are on the back of the fender is sticking out a little bit on the bottom. Do you know if there’s a way to fix this without disassembling the side skirt?
I tried taking the screws out that are located behind the front wheel pushing the vent in and tightening the screws however that did not work. It’s only sticking out a little bit but for me it’s noticeable. Just wondering if you can give me any insight

How do you remove the front fender vent?
Oh Its insomnia there’s a clip at the top on the inside and a Phillips head on the bottom of it also on the inside
Question though, how do you completely disassemble the spoiler? I removed the wing and disassemble the center piece from the two winglets. But now i can't seem to figure out how to remove the stands from the winglets. I can see the two T-30 screws in there but how do i get to it?
Zefoo so if you look inside the bases where the two pieces meet you can see some tabs in there that are epoxied together. You have to stick a long and thin screw driver in there and literally break them apart. I try sticking the flathead under the tabs and then pushing and twisting to kind separate the tabs and break the epoxy off. After you’ll have to JB wel it back together

@@misapatos I'm actually about done with the wrap and got another question lols. So the side skirts slide off but when you re-install it, do you slide back on or remove all of the clips from the car and slide them on the skirts, then pop the skirt back in?
Zefoo take the clips off and put them on the side skirt to pop it back in. You turn them a little so it’s diagonal and pull them out. Easy peasy.
