Guys. Stay in bali for 2 months, 2 months in bangkok, 2 months da nang, 2 months some thai islands. I have friends who love living around canggu, some hate it ahah, some love better the bangkok city life, some KL. Lot of flavors in SEA ! There is no right or wrong way
@@ophelydu26 They made lots of side walks in Canggu & Pererenan so it's easier now but yeah not the best for it. For me it's perfect, easy to go around with a scooter and I take walks to the beach & rice fields :)

Bali always felt like home regardless the traffic and overtourism. Each area in bali; canggu, ubud and uluwatu have it's own uniqueness. Only within 1.30-2hours distance. Great social life.
I’m a new sub & don’t know much about Bali. I’m 68 & retired & have been going to the Philippines for the last 5 yrs. I usually stay in the Philippines around 30 days once a year. So I’ve been to the Philippines 4 times. I started going to the Philippines because I had a young girlfriend. We’re not together anymore but I still go to the Philippines. Last year I rented a car & even took the car on a ferry to a neighboring island. I generally stay around Cebu island. Got to swim with the whale sharks last visit. I’m a certified scuba diver & I try to scuba at least one day a week. I also fly drones. I use DJI drones & still using the mavic pro drone. I’ve been flying drones around 6 yrs. I’m thinking of moving to the Philippines but just not sure since I have a home in Ohio USA. I live alone & a single man with no children so I’m free to do anything I want. I’m not wealthy but have enough $$ to do most anything I want. I’ll follow you & wish you good luck traveling around SE Asia. I’ve been to ElNido I seen you talking about that when you were in Sirago . I plan on going to Sirago on my next visit to the Philippines. I’m hoping to stay 6 months on my next visit. See if I want to truly live there. I’m a military veteran also but that doesn’t help me in the Philippines. Here in the USA I get free healthcare. Great healthcare & it’s all free which is hard to beat. I am thankfully in good health at 68 & plan on staying healthy. I did have a nasty scooter accident in ElNido & broke my collarbone. There wasn’t any medical facilities to get treatment so I just ruffed it out, even went scuba diving with a broken collarbone. Well again good luck to you & I’ll be following you. Based on you videos im now going to Da Nang for 1 month, nah trang for 1 week. Then Bali for 1 month. Will also be doing 1 month in chiang mai, 1 month in phuket/krabi
I think Bali is best for young people. Let's say single and under 35. Younger people tend to feel the need for more social interaction and being where the action is. Kind of like how teenagers like hanging out at malls. I think there is a FOMO about going to and staying in Bali. Imo

The problem is once you stayed in Bali for a while everything else feels overpriced and less good 😅 the quality of food especially is amazing and still so cheap.

I spend 2-3K months here at least. I do not know what do you eat but only ordering grab for eat is 10$ every meal, so if you make that for 3 times a day is $30x31 days is 900$. For what I see you get a bedroom in a guesthouse probably, but you right… if you want we can find a nice apartment (80 square meters) in Semyniak for 600-1000$ a month (not a villa btw that cost at least $1500). And then all the rest.. btw let’s meet in Jungle Padel, I would like to know another digital nomad

The thing with these digital nomads is that they make things very hard for the locals. And they never seem to mentions these things. It is nice to be able to go and live in these places but be mindful that what is cheap for you becomes exceedinglhy expensive for those not making foreign dollars.
@JooseTheNomad If you really want an answer to that question, you should ask the locals. The answer is often more nuanced than you expect. It might even make interesting content for your channel. Just a thought Take care!
@@Deborahtormenta for sure it's complicated and everyone has different feelings and opinions. I still think that people who live there longer-term like me who care about the place is a net positive, different than tourists who come in and don't care to take care of the place and respect the culture
@@JooseTheNomad Joose, an in-depth video on how Balinese view the tourism industry on the island would be really great content. I love Bali too, but it is increasingly getting a victim of its own success. Roads are very congested and the rice fields in your video will be gone in 5 years as they need more and more apartments and padel clubs for people like you. And about the tourists: I am pretty sure Balinese would rather have e.g. 12 tourists each staying one month on a holiday budget compared to a relatively low spending digital nomad staying for a year.

@@JooseTheNomad Well, we took a trip up there just to see what all the hype is about and it was just a mess. Traffic is absolutely terrible, beach clubs overpriced and full of attitude, shops super expensive, accommodations seem so spread out it would be hard to get around on foot, probably need a scooter, but that is a minefield in and of itself. Altas beach club is an absolute monstrosity - we thought we’d teleported to Dubai! Seems to me that the reason people used to go to Canggu was for a bit of peace and quiet and lovely rice field views, which is rapidly disappearing? What am I missing? Why is Canggu so popular? Is it because it’s where all the cool trendy people go these days?

The thing with these digital nomads is that they make things very hard for the locals. And they never seem to mentions these things. It is nice to be able to go and live in these places but be mindful that what is cheap for you becomes exceedinglhy expensive for those not making foreign dollars.

@@Deborahtormenta for sure it's complicated and everyone has different feelings and opinions. I still think that people who live there longer-term like me who care about the place is a net positive, different than tourists who come in and don't care to take care of the place and respect the culture
@@JooseTheNomad Joose, an in-depth video on how Balinese view the tourism industry on the island would be really great content. I love Bali too, but it is increasingly getting a victim of its own success. Roads are very congested and the rice fields in your video will be gone in 5 years as they need more and more apartments and padel clubs for people like you. And about the tourists: I am pretty sure Balinese would rather have e.g. 12 tourists each staying one month on a holiday budget compared to a relatively low spending digital nomad staying for a year.

@@JooseTheNomad Well, we took a trip up there just to see what all the hype is about and it was just a mess. Traffic is absolutely terrible, beach clubs overpriced and full of attitude, shops super expensive, accommodations seem so spread out it would be hard to get around on foot, probably need a scooter, but that is a minefield in and of itself. Altas beach club is an absolute monstrosity - we thought we’d teleported to Dubai!
Seems to me that the reason people used to go to Canggu was for a bit of peace and quiet and lovely rice field views, which is rapidly disappearing?
What am I missing? Why is Canggu so popular? Is it because it’s where all the cool trendy people go these days?
