    In this video I show you how to play Ed's solo and riffs from "Babe, Don't Leave Me Alone" found on the 1976 Gene Simmons produced Demo. (Search for "Zero Demo" on TH-cam.)
    They also included this song on the '77 Warner Bros demo produced by Ted Templeman, but the song would ultimately get left behind.
    Van Halen Rising by Greg Renoff goes into detail about why the management of Kiss decided to pass on the young band.
    Tuning: Eb standard for the solo. For the rhythm parts you need to lower the B string pitch like you do for other VH songs.

      Yeah, I hear that too. It's interesting to compare this to the demo Ted T. produced the following year:
      th-cam.com/video/WDTYNE7qmzU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=MBCBZ_7UCK7UlRgs
      It's a little slower, Alex is more loose, and Ed's amp sounds like Ed's amp. Also, all of the guitar overdubs are gone and the reverb is there-making it sound more like classic VH .
      Thanks for commenting.

      I think a lot of people are newly discovering this stuff because some of it was in the vault and some was in private collections. I'm happy if I can play a small part in spreading the word.

    Could you give “Glitter” from ‘73 a shot? Great lesson by the way.

      Thanks!
      "Glitter" is incredible. I love "Gentlemen of Leisure" too. I've been given some requests along the way for some of the songs that are only available with pretty rough audio. I've been hesitant to do those because I've learned along the way that the better the original sounds, the better the video sounds and the more popular it seems to be. (like "Red zone") However, listening to "Glitter" again reminded me that I didn't start doing this for ratings. I can slip some of the rough ones in, and if they only get 150 views, so be it.
      "Glitter" might be the roughest audio. I don't think I would try to emulate that tone, so I'd have to come up with an approach for that.

    can you do “believe me” or “donut city” next? awesome!

    • @JimbosGuitarPlanet
      @JimbosGuitarPlanet  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      "Believe Me" is awesome, but the recording is pretty rough. Maybe I'll try to record some of it and if the sound is acceptable I'll make a vid. The "Donut City" solo is backwards, and the bassline is really the main riff, so I'll leave that one alone. Thanks for the suggestions!

      Cool! It get's really clear when the solo starts. That sounds doable.
      Hearing this version makes me think the other version is sped up.

      Maybe, but jumping those unison bends around and having them sound in tune takes some work.
