Nice Doba!
I've got 1 of these analyzers somewhere...
If you want to sell it i'd be an interested buyer
The Valiant cars here in Australia that had the ELB system were very slow. Full speed was just on 110 mph. My car from 1976 has electronic ignition, & fuel injection. It has a 4.52 litre V8 engine, & will almost catch one of these CL-CM Valiant cars in SECOND, when the Valiant is at max speed. Under acceleration, my car will leave a CM Valiant behind with no trouble at all.
Wish I haf ome of these when I fought with my 78 volare!
Sure do miss my 76 Cordoba.
amazing
lol '77 lunchroom gripes 'Need a computer to fix today's cars! Bah! What's next?!' Wow what technology we've come to.
people didn't know how to service these it's 5 yrs ahead of gms computer command control.
The only thing nice about the 3C system was that it used a bidirectional control hand held scanner that gave real time data and codes. This was easier to use than Chrysler's ELB/ESC system analyzer or Ford's B.O.B. 'count the flashes' routine. But you're right. Even in the mid to late 80's, a lot of techs didn't know how to properly diagnose a problem with an ELB/ESC system, and many an expensive computer was thrown at them hoping to fix problems.
@@adamtrombino106 In addition, most 1980s Japanese cars could only give an error code number or blink a certain number of times. However, most of them used EFI. I can't think of any Japanese engine that had a carb engine and computerized spark. In any case, some of those computers had been replaced because of misdiagnosis.
I sometimes wonder how my mom's 1985 Nissan Maxima (And friend's with the same type) drove for many years and never had a check engine light. Those cars always beat the hell out of batteries, alternators, starters, and A/C compressors.
I have a 1977 Dodge diplomat 2dr here with this system. I've seen the diagrams and system operation before but wow I never knew they had this then to diag. And the early version of system has a non computer Carter bbd. Mine does when ran it ran pretty well never had any real issues with this system ever.
Wooooooooo!!!!
