Mad Drummer makes those moves look easy, Mike Portnoy attempting some of it just shows how hard it is and keep everything in time still. Portnoy doing the "worshipping" thing at the end just shows you how much respect other drummers have for Steve Moore's skills.

the best. Mike is having fun with it. Steve is also a master of the craft. the only way one is able to mess around with something is after mastering such thing. fact that both are playing around and still not miss a beat only proves both are masters of this craft.

@@butchgifford69 gave away your age old man. Joke. I never played drums. My dad used to play the tabla (indian drums). And thru him Sir Zakir Hussain was a family friend. I tried my hand on tabla to find out I can not hold a beat. I sure wish I was able to cause I would've loved to get on a drum kit and bring out some noise that's laying idle in my mind.
That drum solo by Steve was some of most refreshing and unique I've heard in a long time. Pretty rad that he's jamming over Pipeline on this one. Even besides the manoeuvres, you can see he's got his stamp on his overall style as well. Mark of a true musician. Why he's not more famous in drumming circles is beyond me.

Any drummer would have some sort of issue playing on a foreign kit, especially a set like Steve’s. He sets his snare to flat. It’s almost at an angle, like it’s almost leaning away from him, causing him to miss a few snare hits here and there. And the cymbals are set up far. But Mike held is own. Even Steve missed some hits here and there during his solo. But he’s still a fucking beast! Both drummers are.

Aside from his wacky antics on stage, Steve is an absolute beast. His technique is incredible and his meter is as solid as a metronome.

Mike is cute, (and a great drummer) but he can't do the overhead mosquito hitting thingie as good as Steve! Great drumming together though! Loved it! How is it drummers are always the best looking in a band? My hubby is a drummer and that applies to him too.
