I did the same Journey. It was beautiful, the views from Innsbruck in winter were stunning.

I have been on the Verona to Innsbruck section about four times, between July 1997 and September 2011, each time continuing to Munich via Rosenheim. As a bonus I went in February 2012 from Innsbruck to Brenner. It's kind of a maze exiting the Brenner station to the town. December 2001 I took a Korridorzug between Kufstein and Salzburg Hbf, where the train went through Germany, almost reaching Rosenheim but not stopping there or even Freilassing, and going nonstop to Salzburg, just like in this video. There is another similar route entirely in Austria via Hallein but it is very slow.
In a few years, a journey between Verona and Innsbruck may be quite different, once the Brenner Pass is completed, which is supposed to be in 2027 or 2028. The tunnel goes from Fortezza / Franzensfeste in Italy and ends just south of Innsbruck and there is a branch that avoids Innsbruck altogether, mainly for the long distance trains to Munich and farther afield.
Also if you have a radio, between Hegyeshalom and Gyor, you might be able to pick up a radio broadcast from Slovakia, due to the proximity to the Slovak border. I recorded some broadcasts from August 1998, and I could tell it apart from Hungarian.

Beautiful - highly recommend the Mittenwaldbahn from Innsbruck to Garmisch-Partenkirchen which I took back in 2017 - stunning views from high up over Innsbruck, then over some really high terrain (I remember being level with some low cloud!) into Garmisch. It's a great way of making the journey from the end of the night train at Innsbruck, back towards Munchen.

The DB ticket office is due to DB and ÖBB operating those services as open access in Italy. If I'm not mistaken, FS/Trenitalia doesn't sell tickets for them.

But why DB and not OBB?

@@DavidFrankal I guess that's just how they split tasks. ÖBB provides the rolling stock, DB takes care of ticketing in Italy.

This video's title has a misspelling: "Verona - Innsbruck - Salzburg (- Budapest) (B[r]enner Pass) (Railway Journeys)".

And in the subtitle (4:06), there's no L in the German name of this city.

About the "oddity" of your train (13:50), Austrian trains have similarly traversed Italian territory (even before Schengen, then not stopping in Italy), connecting Nordtirol to Osttirol via Brenner pass.

@@lorenbillings721 Gosh, it's been nearly three months and I hadn't noticed the spelling error in the title!! Thanks for that, fixing that right away...

@@DavidFrankal As a rule, I don't correct your linguistic inaccuracies. (Others seem more than eager to do that.) However, a misspelled word in the video can hamper the number of views.

I was travelling with an InterRail pass, so I only needed to buy seat reservations from the ticket office on the day of travel. I would recommend www.seat61.com for ticket purchasing advice!
