    Great video. A tip I recently picked up from a buddy is to have the straps in the rear also pulling the bike forward into the chock. That way, if a strap does fail, all the other straps are going in the same direction.

    I’m happy to see the full interior and the D ring locations. Not hauling a bike but was curious as to the inside

    Quick suggestion, make sure you have and I've clearance on your ratchets especially with that exhaust sitting so close to it. The bike tends to move a couple of inches here and there while you're driving and you might end up scratching it. Rags are a lifesaver sometimes in those cases

    That wheel chock is an excellent idea.
    I don’t know if I’d trust U-Haul’s D-rings on a heavy bike like a touring bike...~900 lbs or so.
    Those D-rings are not very heavy duty.

    • @johntaylor1341
      @johntaylor1341  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      A heavier bike I would for sure use multiple d ring connections to distribute the weight load.

    Great video with instruction. Thank you for that. QUESTION?-Do you think the d-rings are strong enough to support transport of a Harley Roadglide? I have a wheel chock so just questioning the strength of the D-Rings for 700lbs bike.

    • @johntaylor1341
      @johntaylor1341  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I think the d-rings are only rated 600 Lbs. If you used multiple straps to multiple d-rings plus also wrapped around the board railings, it would distribute the weight.

    How did you get the bike in the truck?

    • @johntaylor1341
      @johntaylor1341  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Many times did I put motorcycles in the back of a truck with ramps. BUT why since I can use a low loading trailer with a ramp, which you can see in the video. Plus I can then use the back of my truck to load extra items like chairs, tables, coolers plus my motorcycle is in a covered more secure enviroment.

    • @kannermw
      @kannermw 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@johntaylor1341 I rented a trailer last August but realized you shouldn’t go crazy with those ratchet straps. Also, more redundant straps are wise decision in case one comes loose. I used quality pinch type straps for that purpose. Quick and easy

    • @johntaylor1341
      @johntaylor1341  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@kannermw agreed. Never over due it with those ratchet straps as I mentaiton that like 3 times, lol. Also having additional straps on your rear area that pull forward also help reassure your secure motorcycle in case one of the straps come loose.
