Im curious why put it in gear if you are just going to be walking/running the bike up?
The only thing worse than having a motorcycle laying on you is having it laying on you on top of a damned shrub. It's hard to lift if off of you on hard ground it's even harder when your sandwiched between the bike and an f'ing shrub. Last week in MY OWN DRIVEWAY it took me 5 minutes to wriggle out from under the thing. Fortunately I broke the motorcycle's fall with my own body and didn't break any plastic.

There’s no way
you've actually not correctly used your canyon dancer, it still is running over your paint work the way you did it. The end you putt the strap hook in is supposed to go through the piece around your grip with your grip. It comes out going away from the handlebar so that it keeps the straps totally off your paint! Verify it please so you know the correct method to use a canyon dancer.
