"This is the train of the future I imagined when I was a child..." - same here. When I was a kid, the future seemed to be much more nicer, brighter, more interesting than what we today expect the future to be like.

The thing is, life is just that. But also everything else. Since the beginning and most likely till the end, life is inherently subjective, with peace and chaos and everything in between.

Absolutely stunning! I had to look up the one in Germany too. These monorails are amazing! They really do feel like what you'd imagine the future of mass transit to be like! I love all the cute liveries on them too. Thank you for sharing!

    • @christophdeelmann6970

The really great thing about them is that you can make use of otherwise unused space, without digging expensive tunnels. The one in Wuppertal, Germany has its tracks mostly above a small river and city streets. I was there a few times, and it's a fantastic thing - riding them is like fyling in a tram.

    • @englishatheart

@@christophdeelmann6970 I honestly hate people calling things "unused space," like humans have to work their way and put their things anywhere and everywhere, otherwise the space has no purpose and just, well, takes up space. It's like when people say that the world isn't overpopulated because there's so much "unoccupied space" out there. We don't own this planet and we don't have the right to take up every inch of space. Something doesn't need to have a purpose to us in order for it to exist.

This might not be applicable in the US. The NIMBY will have a field day complaining about how it ruin their view, and then there will be some stupid environmental report that will ultimately kill the project. Any large scale mass transit project in the US is a chore to get off the ground.

  • @EasternElder

I really enjoy your videos of Japan. Everything is so clean and technologically advanced. In the US it is quite the opposite and so very sad. I have hopes of coming to Japan when the Covid virus settles down ( if ever) because I’ve always had so much respect for Japanese culture. Thank you!

Cool, thank you so much for all your videos, especially the air tram videos. My mother (82 years old) and I watched with treat, were delighted. Thanks to your reviews, we seemed to have been to different parts of the world, where we will never be able to visit live, since there are no such means, opportunities, since there is no chance to get out of this terrible country, where we live. Thank you from all our hearts, my elderly mother and mine!!🤩🤩🤩😘😘💖💖💖🤍❤🤍

So quiet inside! I think this one goes slower because for what i saw, compared with the last one, this one has more frequent altitude level ups and downs. It would be more aggressive at higher speed, i guess.
Thanks again for the ride in your videos! :)

These are actually like the Düsseldorf airport and Dortmund university monorails which use the same SAFEGE box-type guideway. There's an enclosed bogey with rubber tires to provide good traction.
The Wuppertaler system uses its own system more like a standard steel wheel and rail (albeit with side flanges to keep the wheel on the track).
