This is a coach that knows how to get EVERY INCH OF TALENT out of his players!!! Welcome aboard Torts !!! It has been a LONG time since we raised the Stanley Cup here in Philadelphia! With some time here in the locker room who knows!! Last year was 1 of the saddest records in flyers history!! Let's get this thing turned around!! Make all those naysayers BELIEVERS John Tortorella!!!👍
He might just be what they need. His passion & intensity shows thru in these handful of interviews so far. I believe he's 63 yrs old so this 4-yr contract may be his last coaching job. That alone should drive him to go out as a winner. Hope he gets a roster to achieve it.
CBJ fan here. I think it's a shame how much Torts is cast as this dinosaur who can't adapt to the modern game. He is a much different coach now than he was 10-15 years ago. I think this is a great hire by Philly.
Agreed, after GM traded Panarin, Bob, Jones, Atkinson, and Foligno (C in 2018) it left CBJ with very few tools and ultimately (honest opinion) will leave them in a slump for years to come. Rangers Fan here.
It's hard for me to see this working out in a way that makes the Flyers consistently relevant again, but my god I hope so badly it does. I'm leaning on to some of the positivity of the hire and trying to ride it as long as possible. I want this team to matter again.
I'm right there with you David. My dad said the same thing but I really believe our team needs this guy now. You got a team without an identity and certain players..I dont have to name any names, who play when they feel like playing good and take games off. He wont let them get away with that. Guys have bought into his system before. He's learned what not to do in the past. Its certainly going to be interesting.
I’m a Rangers fan and trust me you guys lucked out with John. Look at his record 2nd winningest coach in American history when he took over Columbus they were 0-8 he left Columbus as the franchise record holder for coach with most wins.
@@augustdrums1247 Good guy is not a profession. Coach must show the results. The good ones, I guess. After Hitchcock I don't see any. I hope to see the Flyers in the Cup finals at last.
until the entire management and player development team is fired this organization is dead in the water. from senior management (dinosaur clarke and holmgren) to fletcher to dave scott to player development and dave brown to scouting, this organization is a disaster. Clarke is still directing philosophy to build a team to compete in 1978
Give this man a chance. This team has no identity. He's already given them one again. Let's buy into his process and let him do his thing. Take us all the way torts.
Rangers fan man, you guys will crush it with Johnny T he left Columbus with the most wins in franchise history and is the 2nd winningest American born coach (1 behind PL after missing last szn) you guys will crush good luck!
This is the best thing that could have happened to the flyers.
would be to tank the next 3 seasons
@@gary6754 go home.
@@gary6754 They need to get Bedard or at least one of the top 3 picks.
Blue Jackets fan here... Thank you Torts for all the great memories with Columbus. Best wishes. Congratulations Philly fans, you're in for a treat.

My favorite coach is now coaching my favorite team. LFG!
Torts is a great coach, he'll ring every drop out of these guys, push em, bring back the physicality we been lacking for 5-6 years!

Block out the haters.. Watch us rise. Lets go Torts! Finally a guy who cares... Remember Hakstol LMFAO
I think J.T is a good choice as a new coach . But they still need a number one goalie in my opinion . And I really wish this team gets far ..
Imagine if we win
The first good coach after Ken Hitchcock.
I liked AV
