    Torts is awesome. He'll work well with Jonesy...great day for the Flyers. Hilferty is impressive - great management acumen.

    "This is Mr Snider's team, this is the Philadelphia Flyers, we're gonna work hard to honor that, to get out there for him, he did a lot for all of us, we're not gonna lose sight of that."
    ~ Philadelphia Flyers President of Hockey Operations, Keith Jones
    That gave me goosebumps. Very excited for this new era! Let's Go Flyers!

      They need to continue at the top. They were supposed to remove all ex-Flyers who are nothing more than dead-weight from the Front Office… not add to it.
      Knowing how the Flyers have operated over the past 30+ years, I’m not at all surprised by this.
      Also, that press conference was a joke (which, btw, is on us).

    Torts whips them into shap, Danny gets the people necessary to get the job done, Jonesy shapes the public culture, Chief comes in as an assistant and keeps the boys in line. Torts moves into an executive role, Chief takes over as HC, the Flyers grow into the new game whilst also maintaining the rich old school hockey history of the franchise. My christmas wish.
    A club can maintain the historically rough and tumble personality of the old days of Philadelphia Flyers hockey without making a disgrace of the game moving toward a safer style of play. The physicality is never going to disappear. The Flyers should always show grit and the willingness to put your body on the line for your teammates. That's what makes hockey better than any other sport in the world; guys willing to battle for the other guys wearing the same logo. It's a beautiful thing, and one I think the Flyers GENERALLY do better than any other club. Flyers hockey is old time hockey, and that doesn't just mean violent hockey.

    I have hated Torts for years and years. As a Flyers fan, I hate everyone and everything that is opposing my Flyers. It's taken a full year for me to appreciate Torts. After this interview, I love the guy. I hope these guys bring the Cup to Philly and are in the running EVERY year. I think they can do it.

    My question is to all the people here who think they could have picked better people for these jobs, please give us all a list of people who you would hire if you were the owner of the team, and please no fantasy people that weren't available from other teams or yourself or your buddies at the bar etc.. but legit people from the hockey world that will turn this team around instantly that were ready for the Flyers to pick them and make the team instant winners of Lord Stanleys Cup, and GO! We will wait......

      Ryan Martin, who is the current Assistant GM for the Rangers. He has been there for 2 years and help turn them around. He also worked in the Red Wings organization for 16 years, which is one of the best organizations in the past 30 years. He is currently interviewing for the Anaheim GM job now that the Flyers GM position is taken.

      @@chrisolivo6591 It still doesn't prove that he would have been any better than who the Flyers hired, The Flyers went out of the box when they hired a well known Chuck Fletcher, how did that work out, he was already established as a G.M and had turned the Wild around but it failed here, Danny and Jonesy, care about the Flyers sure they were former players here, but they weren't the Broad Street Bully era, They were part of a more modern era of Flyers, they both know the game and talent in the modern era and aren't trying to bring back neanderthal hockey.

    • @chrisolivo6591

      @@dannylongo4694 I love the argument that because Fletcher was not an ex-Flyer and failed as GM, we can’t hire another outsider as GM ever again? Lol. By that argument, the Phillies shouldn’t have hired Dombrowski because Andy McPhail was an outsider too. You asked a question on who the Flyers should hire from outside the organization, I answered you, and you got all defensive.

    • @dannylongo4694
      @dannylongo4694 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chrisolivo6591 It was a example, and i never said they couldn't, the point being just because of the guys they put in place doesn't mean it won't work, and just because they didn't hire someone who you thought would be better doesn't mean they missed out and he would be any better or have anymore success, you just don t like the fact that they hired former Flyers, lets see what happen in the next few years before making judgements its going to be a long process no matter who's running the team, and no i was not getting defensive, just making a point.

    Flyers need better scouting. Haven’t drafted a solid first line caliber player since coots and that was 2011… not only do clarke and Paul need to go but they also gotta get rid of them old ass scouts as well! Them guys haven’t played in 40 years what do they know about the game today, it’s changed drastically. I don’t see us ever drafting a mcdavid type player we usually just wait until those guys are 34 and about to retire to go and trade for them ffs 🤣

  • @jimmoretti5179
    @jimmoretti5179 ปีที่แล้ว

    Good job Flyers. You hire a great coach at the worst possible time. A coach that is great at taking under and over achievers and crap talent and making them win useless games. Enough wins to take you right out of the draft.
    The Flyers could have had the best player and the best talent they ever had to help their rebuild but useless wins from crap players will only get you nothing more but average talent.
    But next year, Torts will take these losers who are inconsistent average playmakers at best and have them playing good. They will win a playoff series, most likely beating a better team, than they will hit a brick wall which is better talent.
    Maybe in 5 years they can start a run but I would not count on it.

  • @lcd2426

    Flyers hockey: Not winning cups for 48 years, thinking grit, heart and grinding in the corners is the key to winning even though you have not won a cup in 48 years. This whole POHO and GM search was a sham from the beginning and no matter how many chatGp formulated corporate slogans you all come up with will not change the fact that you have the wrong people and won't win.
