Most memorable shooter campaign for me ever. Can remember the whole story like it was yesterday and the immersion and graphics at the time were fkn mind blowing. From the moment of “can you hear them, they are calling, it’s beautiful” I was hooked on this. Voice acting, level designs and diversity in the environments and type of enemies even the ai’s for the time. I love this game and always will

I appreciate Insomniac branching out their genres, and they’ve certainly hit a home run with the Spider-Man games… but we NEED another Resistance Game. At least a Remaster of the 1st one! Come on!

This game was too good for its time. I loved every bit of it. The story, multiplayer, co-op, graphics, weapons, and the way the water reacted when you walk or shoot it had a therapeutic feel to it. Ahhh the golden days. I really hope they remaster this masterpiece for the PS4 and PS5. This game made me start playing my first ever online multiplayer gaming experience. Ahhh the days when PS Plus subscription was not mandatory to play online. 😭

This game deserved to be valued more than others in that time. Its story, campaign and even better its multiplayer were outstanding and brilliant very different from many shooters at least in consoles
I always liked how the modern civilian items and objects were of that time. Like the tvs and the cars and houses but all things military related are more ahead of its time and advanced to an extent. Showing how the chimera threat pushed the countries of the world to advance or die. Focusing all things towards military advancement. And every thing else left behind.
I first played Resistance: Fall of man when was 12 years old. I have a brother 5 years younger than me. But everytime I log into the game, I just play the first 30 seconds and immediately log out, because I was freaked out by the appearance of the Chimera. I was that scared of alien creatures in video games and movies back then. But my brother was the complete opposite. At 7 years of age, he played the game like he has played it multiple times, not terrified of the Chimera at all (though there were the occasional jumpscares here and there). My brother is the one who pushed me to overcome my fear of the game and start playing it. One of the best things he's ever did, bcos it became our favorite game of all time, the whole Resistance series actually. Resistance 2 was shorter than 1 and 3 but this game was on a completely different level. New bosses to fight, difficult villains, new story, everything about this game was amazing. Too bad it didn't get the recognition it deserved. But it is one of the best games of its time. The game was way ahead of its time.
One of my fav things to do in this game was to beat the enemies with as many npc soldiers remaining. I played this game so many times i could never count. Absolutely phenomenal game
Fall of man will probably always be my favourite resistance title but I cannot deny how well 2 made the setting feel like an apocalypse, I’d never seen scale done so well before and it’s my bench mark for games trying to do large scale

My favorite levels were the forest level in california when you encounter the Invisible monsters, and also the level when you first encounter the grims! Bullseye, Marksman, Magnum and Rossmore were my fav weapons. Good Times :,)
This is probably my biggest question for this series: Why did Hale never bother to take the inhibitor treatment after San Francisco? Is it because he must rest for some time off-screen after taking the treatment while every second is precious to stave off the Chimeran invasion? Please remind me if such detail exists (both in the games or the tie-in novel and comic book) because it looks to me that Hale just wanted to die then and there. It's almost like saving the inhibitors from San Fran is one totally useless endeavor in the end.
It’s partly what you said. Insomniac mentions in interviews and developer diaries that Nathan is tired on his journey and wants to bring a swift end to them. It’s that kind of self destructive path that he chose from the start of the game. There’s also a few mentions that he probably feels like he should have died long ago from the initial chimeran trials and from being infected during the first games events.

And that because of that, no one seemed concerned at all about it, because he had just come out of his operation. When the Twin Falls mission ends, at least a day (or a day and a half) has already passed, so he just has to take his treatment, but he can't because he has to rescue Malikov in Utah (who most likely would have killed by the Daedalus, the Chimeras, or the Swarm; and in case the Daedalus did not want him dead, as we are told later, no one apart from Malikov could know or speculate on that possibility). After Utah, Hale must immediately go to Chicago to deactivate a chimera tower that is very close to the Perimeter (and which we later see served as an outpost to destroy Liberty Defense). By that point, the rest of the Sentinels, except for Hale, had already received the treatment. In the middle of the Chicago mission, they request a mobile inhibitor station, which they cannot provide at the moment. And after Chicago, Daedalus reactivates the tower from Iceland, forcing the SRPA to go and disable it, before the Chimera fleet can attack the Perimeter. Actually, in the story, what happens to Hale is perfectly justified. It is very possible that Daedalus has planned everything, precisely to infect Hale.

This is my first time playing Resistance 2 I've been playing PlayStation since the 90s since 96 and this game I just noticed that it came out in 2008 then Black ops came out in 2009 with call of duty and the zombies and this is where the people got the idea of doing zombies Activision copied this game this game will be the evolution of zombies and all of the call of duty modern warfare and all that until this day this is the pioneer

2:50:32 man I'm playing the series for the first time ever ( just beat one and started 2 today ) and this part of the level is pissing me off lol . On hard difficulty it is freaking annoying as hell. 3 am and just gave up for now lol. Been trying to beat it for over a half an hour . I either get shot by the missiles ducking by cars or running as well. And the shield thing is annoying. So hard to choose properly when to shoot . Hopefully I beat the game tomorrow
Idk how but I found a lobby today, we had an 5 vs 5 and then we played coop, was awesome (tbh I haven't touched my ps3 in years and idk how much luck I have skilled to find an lobby, maybe the lobby was deticated)
Look at the settings and graphics. And all that on PS3. A shame we don't see these type of games anymore. It had it all, an awesome campaign, multiplayer and coop. I can't bother to get a PS5, there are barely any unique games and graphics are not better than PS4, apart from the resolution and fps
The events leading up to Fall of Man could've been avoided or at least given Europe time to prepare if Russia had send a transmission regarding what Russia is fighting against. Not sure how not one Russian or a few were able to escape to the other part of Europe to deliver vital information regarding the chimera

Chimera is basically Millions of Years older than Humanity, according to this game's lore. While Humanity is basically just started reverse engineering their weapons

What you are seeing is an outbreak of Chimera from those Chimeran Samples with that Antagonist whose name I will never pronounce because of his spelling. In short, the Russians collected the Chimeran Cells for experimenting on their behavior in Human Cells, which resulted in that Human Subject to be turned into a Chimera, which resulted in all these mess

If it really was a virus, how come the infected got all those massive flying ships or even those Alien guns back from 1949 in a matter of months? Not to mention, all of those weapons are far more advanced than what the Humans had in terms of small-arms fire. Only a few humans got their fair share of alien Tech for their purposes
@pedroespino1676 we fighting Aliens, I don't care about realistic. The weapon wheel was what made the first one so good. Being able to pick any weapon you had to use statrigiclicy in any situation. It was awesome.

It's funny because I played the game when I was 6 and it didn't scare me at all but when I got back to playing it at 13 I was more terrified lol.

On hard difficulty it is freaking annoying as hell. 3 am and just gave up for now lol. Been trying to beat it for over a half an hour . I either get shot by the missiles ducking by cars or running as well. And the shield thing is annoying. So hard to choose properly when to shoot . Hopefully I beat the game tomorrow

The events leading up to Fall of Man could've been avoided or at least given Europe time to prepare if Russia had send a transmission regarding what Russia is fighting against. Not sure how not one Russian or a few were able to escape to the other part of Europe to deliver vital information regarding the chimera

What you are seeing is an outbreak of Chimera from those Chimeran Samples with that Antagonist whose name I will never pronounce because of his spelling.
In short, the Russians collected the Chimeran Cells for experimenting on their behavior in Human Cells, which resulted in that Human Subject to be turned into a Chimera, which resulted in all these mess

@pedroespino1676 we fighting Aliens, I don't care about realistic. The weapon wheel was what made the first one so good. Being able to pick any weapon you had to use statrigiclicy in any situation. It was awesome.
