- Today is the day I have set aside for my big Christmas food shop. I go to a local greengrocers, Tesco and Lidl and get just about everything we wanted for the Christmas period.

Happy weekend !!. So nice that Izzy is working so that she has money to buy different things. You sure got a great assortment of veggies. We don't get the brussels sprouts on the stem. I think it's a novel idea. Glad to hear your dad is improving, and not as sick as many have been. I'm sure you will have a lovely little Christmas with Izzy, and do the family one at a later date. I love salmon, and have only ever had tuna from the can. It's horrid weather here with snow and ice over everything. Roads are treacherous to be on. Glad we have everything we need in the house, and no need to go out for anything. Take care.. and enjoy the next several days. ❄🎅🏻
We are dealing with -30 degree Fahrenheit windchill today so we are staying in. So nice of Izzy buying holiday snacks! Even though it’s just gonna be the two of you hope you have a wonderful Christmas 🎄

Got a kit for my good camera. It had a nice bag, spare battery, 2 kinds of charger, cleaning kit and a tripod. Well the camera is like 2lbs. So this tripod had these 2mm legs on it. There was no way in heck it was going to hold the camera. They mite as well not put it in. I've never had gin in my life, about everything else, but not gin.
It was -11F actual temperature and windy so no one going out around here. Glad you have such variety and reduced to clear things too. I think that you could add gin to any soda if you want to. Very big amount of Christmas goodies.
I have some candy and food in my freezer. Heater can't keep house comfy but mattress pad heater is doing a fine job and Tort the cat has camped out in bed 99 percent of the day. Merry Christmas and so glad your Dad is feeling better.

I remembered your tip about the sprout tree. So I have put mine in water.
My cheddar is half that size and it was $9.98 - Never move here, it's 40C in the summer and -50C in the winter and everything is really expensive.

We did the fresh Christmas food shop today. I did lidl and aldi and I think we have far more than we really need
I love to slice peppers and Shallots and freeze them in a bag. I use them in all sorts of dishes. I love roasted veg

iv got the larder fridge and it was cheeper than an under counter one 230.00 i love so much rom dont have to cram it in anymore try your gin with bitter lemmon so nice

75p for those microwave dishes! What a bargain!
You need to make it a resolution that you won't just take the front items when shopping for perishables ! The reason you're seeing lots of short dated items is probably because the savvy shoppers have checked further back on the shelves for longer dates and cleaned them out ! I've noticed you NEVER do, you always take the closest item ! You're a dream to the shopkeepers and are probably taking twice as many trips out as you need to !
Imo...you worry far too much about the dates on food...they are pretty much a guide not an instruction...you just need to use your nose...if it smells ok then it will be ok...if it smells off then it IS off...on another matter...you can freeze peppers and use them straight from frozen to cook the types of meals that you make...obviously they are no good for a salad when thyve been frozen but ok for all other stuff!!
Oh ta. I’ve been a non-meat eater for most of my life so I don’t know what they’re meant to smell like when fresh or otherwise. I get nervous about giving people food poisoning with meat. 😂 cheers! And have a good Christmas, Jan. X
