    I’m from the U.S. & have been thru Schiphol x3 in the past 18 mos., & have been very fortunate getting thru Passport Control. But I would never willingly book flights w/less than 2.5 hrs of connecting time, especially between Schengen& non-Schengen destinations.
    Thanks for a well-done video!

      In general, Schiphol is a very efficient airport and designed to maximize connections

    hello it is a nice guide and a good walkthrough it would be interesting to see how thegates are arranged. Does there are only the e-gates existing or the normal security check areas ? but thank you very much for that helpfull video

      e-gates compliment the normal counters to clear Schengen immigration.

    So which sign do I basically need to follow when I want to travel from Schengen to non-Schengen? Is it all other gates?

    So if I am coming from a non-schengen country will it be easier to transfer to a non-schengen? It's my first time going through schipol and I'm anxious . The layover is 4 hours would be enough time for me? Thanks

    Hi, thanks for the great video. I'm departing from Scotland and transferring (transitting) through Amsterdam, arriving to China. Which requires luggage re-collection and sign-in again. Would you suggest 1h50 minites of gap enough? And is the process of check-in, security checks, reaching the departure gate (to non-schengen) a lot? Thanks a lot!❤

      If you are flying on a single ticket, there should be no need to collect and recheck your checked baggage. If you do need to do that, you definitely need more than a 1 hour and 50 minutes connection in AMS.

    Hello mister, i am flying from munich to schiphol next week and then to lima, it is a connected flight via KLM. I have a german passport. So when i arrive at the schengen area. i will go to the non schengen area and use the automatically passport control to get in. After this where does the security control happens? I will have 1 hour 20 transfertime, is this enough? I fly the first time alone, and i have fear that i miss my flight.

    • @OnTimeReports

      You will not have to go through security again at AMS and 80 minutes is plenty for Schiphol.

    I have a 1hr and a half connection from Schengen to a non-Schengen leaving to the US. It will be on a Sunday morning between 9:30 and 11 am. Do you think it's enough time?

    • @OnTimeReports

      Yes, 90 minutes will be fine, especially if you are eligible to use the e-gate. AMS is an incredibly efficient airport.

    We will be arriving from UK on a KLM flight from Birmingham, to transfer through Schipol for a KLM flight to Bangkok.
    We only 1 hour and 20 minutes to transfer. Is this a bit tight??

    • @OnTimeReports

      That should be enough time. Since you are arriving from the UK, you should be able to directly go to your next non-Schengen gate for your flight to BKK. There's no need to go through Schengen immigration to make this transfer.

    hii.. I am planning to book a ticket to travel from Riga, Latvia to India. Transit from Amsterdam Schipol, But the problem is Transit time is only 1 hour. Is it ok to book that ticket or look for another ticket?

    • @OnTimeReports

      1 hour transit should be fine for AMS if your booking is under one ticket.

    Hello, i am flying from manchester-amsterdam then catching a connecting flight from amsterdam-berlin. My transfer time is 40 minutes do you think this will give me enough time to catch my next flight. I have contacted schiphol airport and they told me that 40 minutes is enough time.

    • @OnTimeReports

      Yes, 40 minutes is enough and make sure to utilize the e-gates to enter the Schengen Area, if you are eligible to do so.

    I am going to travel with my 4 year daughter from schengen to usa and i have only 55mins. Is it possible to make it? Or any vehicles are available for kids?

    • @OnTimeReports

      It will be tight since you won’t be able to use the e-gates and especially if you are departing during the peak early afternoon period.

I am super nervous. i am landing to amsterdam around 8am march 8th, will it be crowded then? i only bring hand baggage so i do not have to worry about that.

    • @OnTimeReports

      Yes, 50 minutes is fine. Do make sure you use the e-gates at passport control, if available.

    Hi. We are flying from Prague to Denpasar Bali with layover in Schiphol for just 1 hour! Is this doable?! The whole flight is provided by KLM.

    • @OnTimeReports

      Yes, especially considering the SIN flight departs in the evening, where there are relatively less non-Schengen departures. Do make sure to use the automated border control, if eligible!

    Hello,
    What if we travel with a child under 14 years? Where should we go then?

    • @OnTimeReports

      You should not use the automated passport control e-gates and should rather line up on the right-hand side with all other nationalities that are no eligible to use the e-gates.

    im from non-schengen country, and will arrive at gate F, I have a 4 hour layover and would like to drop by centraal for a quick look around, will i need to go through passport control on the way out? whats the process coming back in Schipol? thanks for your time

    • @OnTimeReports

      Yes if you want to explore the city, then you have to clear Schengen immigration and then when coming back to the airport you'll have to go through security checks and clear exit Schengen immigration. All that can take significant time, depending on whether you can use the e-gates and how long the lines are at security.
