I've been dipping in and out of your content for the past 6 years or so and whenever I return I'm struck by how much you've evolved as a video maker... But even better, you remain as sincere and real as you've always been :) Happy you exist, man.
Happy I exist too. And doubly happy to earn your trust and hold onto it over the years. That's the most important thing to me. I know I can't please everyone, and people will always move on from my content over time, but I'm always grateful to hear that not only was I worth checking in on from time to time, but that I didn't disappoint 🥂
‼️🤣‼️😂 ❤️ Omg Jay - this is the funniest video yet. 🙃🤣😂 talking thru the jars on the shelf, the oven, omg. Thank uuuu!! Of course we all love your signature move - when u just walk off camera while you continue to talk. Haaaaa ‼️❤️. Okay, now I’ll finish watching - I had to comment and I only started to watch. ‼️😃❤️
I absolutely agree. There’s sooo much content out there, it drains me out. And it sucks you in as you enter it. But I’m learning to come in for a short time to mostly see what I wanted exactly. Your content is special though! It’s fun, it’s kind of friendly, and it’s always about you, what I mean is your special kind of style of vlogging. I’ve been following you for about 3-4 years now, my dad and I watched your Olympics videos together this August (I showed him) and we really enjoyed it, and I’m not going away :) Keep it up!
Happy to have you here for the long run! Thanks for all the kind words to match the kind vlogging - happy that I've been able to keep sharing over the years
I love your videos, it got me thru my dark days of 21 and 22, they made me laugh when all i wanted to do was die, Paris in my Pocket is a great spin off, so a big thank you
Outstanding! As usual! I LOVE Jay-isms! I may have occasional lonely moments, but I’m mostly attracted to YT for interesting travel, language, vistas, how things work, fixing things up, art, history, a laugh….etc.; and, of course, (healthy) cats, dogs, and amazing animals (that aren’t in distress, or manipulated into a wine glass)! Your story-telling is fun, thought-provoking, and entertaining. BTW…not important…but IMHumble (and very unscientific (and unsolicited) Opinion), people with less hair covering their face (i.e., long bangs, beards), are the most willing to be transparent, (within reason). Very refreshing, and trust-inspiring. As much as I love “Paris-in-my-Pocket” (not the acronym, lol), your thoughtful Jay-logues, are my favorites!
OMG, I love this post. Just thinking this morning that I have to limit my YT. Maybe have a no tech day. Thanks for the honesty - why I will leave you on my watch list.
Watch with intention. Says it all. That's what you control, and they can't! :D Cheers, thanks, the video and photography totally give me that Paris feel, right into the metro, too. Cheers- beeeeep
This video is so true. I’ve always appreciated that you’ve kept your videos around 10 minutes because I know your videos will be informative, a bit humorous and beautifully edited, so my time investment is worth it. I can usually tell when someone is trying to “slow walk” their video: unnecessary pauses, dragging out a story, or searching for something & showing the audience. These elements are the opposite of “show not tell” visually. It will turn YT into a wasteland of useless content.
Really enjoyed this - it feels like the internal conflict that many people have but we don't take the time to truly acknowledge it through words because of time itself. And we're so sick of social media, we now spell "September" as "SETP" (0:46). Take that, "Youtbue"!
Maybe TH-cam has some of its charm because it isn't TH-cam as you used to know. People change, as do circumstances. That alone makes it hard to judge what has changed because it always a gradual process. I'll give you an example Jay. Around 2013 I came across your channel, a Caribbean Island as introduction to a man 'slightly' struggling. Honestly watched everything you produced. Now, 11 years later, you are transitioning again, and that is the way it should be. Time stands never still, always moving to the next moment. For me it is comforting change still happens, sure, some of those changes are, eh, inevitable, you never get younger, and that makes a difference from the physical side primarily. Cognitive changes too, but it is the way it is supposed to function, at some point there will be an end. I'm probably one of the lucky ones, you see, I actually should've died on an operating table. And got a new lease, some strings attached because of it but the fact I can say I just can look forward to my next birthday January 6 next year, that will be my 14th... add to that the previous 53 years. At the end of the day life never waits for anyone, live your life and always pretend it cannot get better. Only to realise it will get better. You see, that is the thing most forget, every day lived is one day gained on the calendar of your life. No-one but you matters on that calendar. Just hope it will be a long one. Not going re-read it, nor correct anything. If I do that I'll delete it... 😊
So True, I recently enrolled in a weekend workshop, I was so immersed in what I truly enjoyed the weekend flew by at light-speed. Didn't even think about my daily YT fix.
This! I'm getting myself back into my creative pursuits more and more - once the momentum and passion kick in, it's hard to even remember you want entertainment 90% of the time 😆
Great video with excellent message. I find myself doom scrolling going off on tangents and wasting time so your video today was timely for me. Thanks Jay😄
Hey , bonjour d'Australie, some great stuff in there. I'm pairing back social media though I have plenty of other busy hobbies. Nice work on that discussion, now I just miss Paris again seeing you wandering around, though trip 5 is in March. Stay well!
All these channels with professional looking thumb nails and attention grabbing headlines that have NOTHING to do with the content but they know which words will draw the most clicks and that's ALL that counts. Even worse are the robotic narrators and repetitive dialogue. Anyway, none of these rants apply to you. Keep it up. Your stuff is fun and informative
A few things… I’ve been away for a while, but I do check in from time to time and times are better now. That was the best sponsorship spot I’ve ever seen ever! I don’t mind sponsored ads or paid promotions in TH-cam videos or any of my social media content. The original social media content, television, needs this to survive. I know what I’m consuming. So that’s that. Your dog is adorable! Scooters are evil! I used to drive for Lyft in Los Angeles when they first came out and nearly hit several of them in and around Venice Beach. Also, my husband managed to knock out his front tooth while riding one that he owned before the rental ones came out. Took several years before he finally got an implant replacement. Did I mention that your promotional spot is hilarious? I like watching TH-cam for entertainment purposes. I don’t have a subscription. The algorithm for the most part works pretty well. I appreciate the content that you create and put out here for all of us to consume. Keep it up! Good job 😊
Agreed. Easier said than done buuuut very true. I do have one important thing to say. . . . you are not going to be an amazing story teller one day. .. you ARE an amazing story teller and have been for a long time. One day however, I do suspect you'll be widely KNOWN for it.
Well for those of you that didn’t stay to the end, you missed the best part of the video, Copper running towards the 🎥 epic! Just felt like picking him up and hugging him. Crazy little dude! Hopefully one day I can be a sponsor of your videos 🤞
