    Really cool spell-marker! I love the name too! Shield of Faith! Awesome! I posted a picture of my Tentacle Trap (Tentacles coming out of a puddle of water on a dungeon tile) to Tabletop Crafters Guild a few days ago. I'm sure that if you did one it'd be even cooler looking! Hint hint! LOL

  • @AzraelThanatos
    @AzraelThanatos 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    That doesn't really work for Shield of Faith, mainly because shield of faith tends to be great for dealing with melee and the size of the spell effect blocks that.
    The dome, however, seems about the right size for a globe of invulnerability...

    quick tips for tacky UV resin surface: you can 1- let the sun does the work(cuz sunlight has a different UV wavelength than your LED lamp), 2 - apply a layer of NON-WIPE nail gel UV topcoat (The non-wipe uv has different formula i guess), or 3 - wipe off the tacky resin with 80% or higher ethanol, (the surface becomes matte) then apply a layer of glaze, clear nail polish works.

    The tackyness of the resin will be probably due to a couple of variables........ how well mixed it is before use and ambient moisture... the latter being what usually catches people out, moisture interferes with the chemical changes going on. . . . dry, warm (not hot) environment for best results :) (info more for others as im sure you know this stuff)

    Also just a fyi you should check out how we do sugar crafting on objects to make things because it's very similar to what you did here to make the globe and I'm sure there are tons of other shapes/things you could make by copying a few sugar crafting methods.
    ( We would have blow up balloon to size of globe , covered in plastic wrap then cover in hot sugar, once the shape was made you pop the balloon and remove it then you are left with a perfect globe )

    Cool idea and well executed! I'm curious if the dome could be reworked into a wall, where the inside facing part of the wall would wrap around the LEDs. If that makes sense. Like if you could fold the finished dome down around the LEDs you'd have a wall effect. I know you cant fold the finished dome but you could craft it with that in mind from the beginning. could make cool wall of fire, ice, or thorns effects. for the dome goes with the classic Prismatic Sphere! Easy to do just swap the static LEDs for color shifting ones. It fits well too because you aren't supposed to be able to see through the sphere. Great vid as always!

    You got any tips on were to get any of the materials for anything cheaper ? My biggest problem is I'll see things like this and other terrain . The green stuff , the different type of mode podge and the different types of sculptermodles, foliage, crafting jewelry...exc and if I buy these at the craft store or hardware store to get the foam and tools im spending hundreds of dollars just to make things for cheap . I know it will be cheap in the long run but holy hell does it suck. Online seems cheap at first until you take into account the shipping price from each individual place because every store that has something you need at the cheapest price also has something else you need at the most expensive. So b4 you know it your paying 50$ in shipping fees

      I hear you.... that's part of the great thing about this hobby, you can look for anything you have to make these work. Check your local dollar store for items that can replace the dome, like clear Christmas balls, or those toys that mice run around in. You can make your own sculptamold or texture paste as well.
