Mike! I hope you see this comment! I was an atheist from the age of 17 to 27. (I’m 27 now) But I’ve come to Christ and I’m so thankful! This is the kind of video that I’ve been needing because honestly I don’t know what it means to be a Christian, how to get saved and the basics yet! I really appreciate you making this video! The simple ones are more helpful than you might realize
Wow praise God. Walk with Jesus and he will never let you down, I been a Christian for 3 years now and God is so good. He gave me a new heart and replaced the heart of stone with a heart of flesh, ( it’s a miracle) and saved my marriage, my life was such a mess before. I’m scared to think where I would be today if Jesus didn’t save me. All Glory belongs to him. If God can save a wretch like me than he can save anyone who comes to him. God bless you.
Mike Winger thank you so much for reading my comment! It means the world to me! It’s amazing to have a leader like you who truly follows in the path of Christ! I hope to meet you one day! Count on it! It’s hard right now because I’m living in japan but it’s a goal of mine to visit your Church and listen to one of your sermons💕 you are a big inspiration for me and I feel at peace knowing that I have a pastor I can rely on when I have questions. I use to be a big follower of atheist thinkers like Matt dilluhunty , Christopher hitchens etc. I’m so thankful I got out of that way of thinking and am now where I belong following Christ and my heart 💕
I know this video is over a year old, but it was incredibly impactful for me today. I am coming out of Mormonism after a lifetime (40+ years) in that church. The beauty of Christ's gospel is just beginning to open up to me as I discovery true Christianity. I listened intently to this message, prayed on my own and again with Mike. I honestly feel like a new man.
Praise the Lord!!! That is so awesome. I’ve been studying Mormonism and really want to evangelize to them about the true gospel and I know you will be a testimony to many. I pray you find comfort in the Lord and His word. I’ve seen it can be very hard leaving that church and it is like losing your family and it is very hard. But you have a new family in Christ!! The angels rejoice!!!
Glory to God. I’m thankful for you Aaron. May God bless you and reveal himself to you in wonderful and beautiful ways. I pray he blesses you and uses you to save others. In the name of his Son Jesus Christ amen.

I was talking/ praying to god yesterday about: Lord please show yourself in simplicity and truth without all the trash of the world/religion in our way, minutes later I saw this video. Thanks for your obedience to Christ Mike.
@@timothyseals3791 What is YOUR idea of the gospel of God? Since the Bible is the Perfect, Inspired WORD and God tells us flat out that we will be saved if we believe as Romans 10:9 says, then are you saying God is lying? That’s a very dangerous and serious accusation! Please clarify what you mean by your statement.
@@jeffouellette9946 I believe those who refer to "once saved, always saved" are referring to these two Bible verses indicating that once we believe in Jesus as the Sacrifice for our sins, we are then sealed by the Holy Spirit, as God says in HIS WORD. Ephesians 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Ephesians 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. I have always thought and believed that if we are truly saved, we are sealed by the Holy Spirit so that God NEVER lets us go. HOWEVER, I also believe that WE can let go of GOD. Nevertheless, if we are truly saved, I can't imagine ever WANTING to let go of GOD and it may be that we were never really saved in the first place. That is just my understanding.
When you said, “I’m amazed there’s so many Christians that don’t understand why Jesus had to die on the cross.” I related to that so much and actually my lack of understanding is what made me stray from my faith for many years. I just simply didn’t have anyone explain to me the meaning of atonement, and I lacked the knowledge, wisdom, guidance to fully grasp the story of the Bible. Over a year ago I got baptized again, I say again because this time the decision was mine and I was an adult. But now I can say I understand why Jesus died on the cross for us. I came back to Jesus after falling into the New age beliefs and Jesus rescued me from all that mess. Just wanted to say a personal Thank you for your videos, because I’ve fallen in love with apologetics and you do a fantastic job explaining the Christian theology.
It’s honestly hard to comprehend that I’m actually saved sometimes, that my repentance and transfer of trust actually means something, that what Jesus did DOES apply to me. It’s amazing! Praise the Lord!
@@timothyseals3791 I think you missed the entire video, he explained that the prayer is only a way to focus on/articulate or confession of sin and submission to Christ as lord. I agree that many push the “sinners prayer” as a just do this and you will be saved, but the same could be said about baptism.
@@ArcticBlits You agree that the sinners prayer is used incorrectly and I would agree with that. How is baptism used incorrectly by many? I don't know many that say to get baptized for forgiveness of their sins without including belief and repentance for their sins, do you? So how could the same be said of baptism?
@@timothyseals3791 it’s mostly an issue with ignorance by many. Most nominal Christians when asked if they are going to heaven would reply “Of course! I’m baptized” just like they would say “Of course! @@timothyseals3791 I think we have to repent from our sins (change of belief - and to turn away from the sin), make sure you obey God's commandments, don't be ashamed of Jesus, mention the Gospel without being worried about embarrassment, laughed at etc. Read your Bible every day, or as often as you can, or listen to your pastor, renounce your connection with the devil, Believe Jesus is real, and was real on earth, and died on the cross for everyone's sins, believe in God, be aware of sin (sensitized to sin), pray everyday - don't go too long without praying. @@ebukaigwe8166 I would be happy to. Salvation in Christ starts when one hears about what Jesus did for them on the cross and then believes in Jesus as Lord. Once a person believes in what Jesus has offered by way of salvation, they must realize their sin, repent of their sins, confess Him as Lord, get water baptized for the forgiveness of their sins, and live obediently to His commands. • Faith is the direct result of instruction in God's word (Jn. 6:44,45; Rom. 10:17). • Faith leads to repentance (Acts 2:36-38). • Repentance leads to salvation(2 Cor 7:9-10), • When one has repented of his sins and confessed his faith in Jesus (Acts 8:37, Rom. 10:10), he is then baptized into Christ (Rom. 6:1-6). • This makes one a child of God (Gal. 3:26-27).

My husband and I just watched this together. His story is similar to mine - I was in church regularly all my childhood, until I was 16 and I was asked to leave due to teen pregnancy. My husband and his family were asked to leave due to infidelity in his parents marriage and the divorce it resulted in. (These were different churches.) We met in our early 20s. Since then, we've made a few attempts at going back to church, but to keep this short I mostly relied on what I had already learned because of that fear and feeling of unbelonging when we tried to attend. I've NEVER heard it explained like this. It was like pieces of what I already knew with just a few key things I didn't know that help me fit together and finally understand it completely... Like a light just came on!!! My husband I both were like, "um pause!!" at 20 mins in and just looked at each other for a minute, next thing I know we are in a really long conversation about how could we not know it like that? How amazing it is?? The way that feels, and finding out together!! We were saved already, but we prayed the prayer anyway. It was different, better than the first time with this new understanding. We are back in church now by the way. We are mid 30s and have been going regularly for 2 months, plus everyday of the week I am binging ALL of your videos along with Allen Parr and my own churches sermons online. MrKev1664 But when Jesus died on the cross all of our sins were future sins. Are you saying he only died for the sins up until the point when we would get saved? If so are you saying that our sins are only forgiven when we confess them? Thank you so much for making this video! I was raised in a Christian family, but there were big gaps in my understanding of the gospel. I left the church for several years, but just recently my husband and I started attending again. God has been working on my heart for the last two years, and I have had several moments of breaking down before Him and just feeling so unworthy and unsure of whether or not He forgives me. This video has given me a lot of reassurance and understanding.

You read in Matthew 26:28 where Jesus says his blood is shed, "for the remission of sins." But, how is it applied to us? Peter in Acts 2:38, uses the IDENTICAL Greek wording of "for the remission of sins." It is done through immersion baptism "in the name of Jesus Christ."
I started on my journey back to seeking Jesus after straying from him into atheism and later agnosticism when I was around 15. I'm 23 now and after having experienced my own futility in attempts at goodness, as well as the fruitlessness of idols in the world I pursued and only brought fleeting pleasures that gave way to destructiveness and pain, I've decided to commit my life and my heart to Jesus with a faith I haven't given since I was a child, and I was led very much by your videos Mike! Too often I saw belief as a feeling and not an act of willful entrusting, and now I recognise by making the admission of my own sin, even those sins I'm too proud in myself to consciously acknowledge, and willfully asking for Jesus' forgiveness, that grace is what leads to the faith that grows us in the confidence we have in Jesus' justification for our eternal salvation on the cross. He lives, yesterday, today and forever! Glory to God!

I want to thank you for having a very rounded set of topics in your videos, and not getting caught up in just finding fault in Christian leaders and calling them out, as many are inclined to do.
Using any old excerpt from the book of Romans might not be the best way to get a minimum requirements/explanation for salvation because Paul was writing TO Christians already, so the instructions he is giving them about salvation may be in the context of holding onto what they already have rather than describing how to gain it initially. That's why case studies of salvation are more useful in tandem with doctrinal statements to determine what happens for salvation. Romans 10:13 -15 show that "calling on the name of the Lord" is also important for salvation, and verse 14 separates that as a different event from belief. Joel chapter 2 talks about calling on the name of the Lord, and Acts chapter 2 is where Peter quotes it in context and then gives a command based off of it. That's enough to show that there is a bigger umbrella here than just Romans 10:9
Christ be with you yes this are often misrepresented verses. It is not enough to simply call on the lord we must do what he has taught Not doing so brings ruin and destruction(Luke 6:46-49) to be live in our Hearts is to believe with love This who love God obey his Commandments (john 14:15) To believe unto righteousness we must do righteousness (1 John 3:7) God bless you

@@jeffouellette9946
I believe those who refer to "once saved, always saved" are referring to these two Bible verses indicating that once we believe in Jesus as the Sacrifice for our sins, we are then sealed by the Holy Spirit, as God says in HIS WORD.
Ephesians 1:13
In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
Ephesians 4:30
And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

I would be happy to.
• Repentance leads to salvation(2 Cor 7:9-10),
• When one has repented of his sins and confessed his faith in Jesus (Acts 8:37, Rom. 10:10), he is then baptized into Christ (Rom. 6:1-6).
• This makes one a child of God (Gal. 3:26-27).

a very good fruit.
On the other hand, the false doctrine of faith alone has brought millions to the understanding that Love and obedience have no part in our salvation despite what scripture says.

That is your twisting of Catholic doctrine,

The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?
For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.
Behold Israel after the flesh: are not they which eat of the sacrifices partakers of the altar? (1 Cor 10:16-18)

The grumbling servant is the are not grumbling about having to do the works of the master but how long each has been doing it.
If we are faithful servants it does not matter when we change as long as we do and remain in him we will receive eternal life.
For whoever lacks these things is blind and shortsighted and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.
Therefore, brethren, be the more zealous to confirm your call and election, *for if you do this you will never fall8 so there will be richly provided for you an entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. (2 Peter 1:9-11)
God bless you
@@MrKev1664 I'm saying that good works come out of one's faith. NOT ones faith coming from their good works.
If you are saved there will be good works.
If the holy spirit indwells in you there will be good works.
Works based faith is a leftover of Yahudaism that the disciples even struggled with because that was the religiosity that they came out of entering into the rest entering into the Sabbath of believing in Yahoshua Hamashiac Jesus the Messiah as Lord and savior.
I choose a yoke of freedom under the lord of the Sabbath where the Sabbath was created for men and not men created for the Sabbath......
If one is truly saved works will come through the miracle of God the Father God the Son and the Holy Spirit indwelling in one's heart.
God bless you
please do not miss that in addition to faith, repentance and confession people should also get baptized (immersed) "for the remission of sins" Acts 2:38, Romans 6:3-8, Acts 22:16, Mark 16:16, Colossians 2:12 Matthew 28:19, and others.
WELCOME to The Family everyone who prayed!!! So overjoyed you’re His (Abba’s)! 🤗❤️🥰👏🏼👊🙌🏼🤟
You need more than a prayer to be in the family of God.
I loved this message so much. I shared it with all those in my small group. As they begin to invite their loved ones and family members to join them this Easter online to watch our church service they can share this to those who want to understand more.

I was wondering if he would talk about baptism at all, but he just doesn't even address it
I started on my journey back to seeking Jesus after straying from him into atheism and later agnosticism when I was around 15.

Mike, your channel has been a blessing to me! Thank you for guiding me to Christ!!!
I prayed that prayer decades ago, but that was the most real & beautiful wording of it I've ever heard! Thank you for sharing all your Biblical knowledge & understanding with us❣️
Thank you Mike Winger for this needed and untimely video. Ever since the shift of the novel coronavirus becoming a pandemic, I've seen nothing but prophesies, end times and Revelations videos all over social media. Everywhere! Thank you for brining attention to what really is at the heart of the matter and what is truly needed right now for believers and unbelievers.
I have already been saved but I watched your video, paused and thanked God again for His salvation
Jesus Saved me. I am just Saved. I Prayed with you. Please pray for me that i may stand firm in Christ and grow more and more closer to God day by day. Thank you. Love from India ❤️❤️
Praise God!!! I will pray for you! ❤️✝️🙏🏼

Your videos are such an inspiration Mike, love what God is doing on TH-cam right now, an army is rising up to make his name known
Peace be with you
I am sorry he is misrepresenting scripture.
what he said in Galatians for example
Galatians is about people turning back to the works of the Law eg Circumcision, Animal sacrifice, cleansing rituals and dietary requirements.
We see this addressed directly but St Paul
For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love. (Gal 5:6)
And unless you protestants have taken Gal 6 out of the Bible the need for good works
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith. (Gal 6:7-10)
I am sorry Mr Winger's teaching is false
God bless you
@@MrKev1664 MrKev please develop a personal relationship with Jesus. You could never be sure you were doing enough good works to get accepted by God. Please turn from this. I was Roman Catholic for 56 years and think you may be one! Good works come from righteousness by salvation through Christ. Good works by themselves are for the person doing them not selflessly.

Christ be with you
It sound like you did not understand Catholicism when you were in it.
It has never been about doing enough works.
It is about loving God and the only way you love him is by follow his commandments and teachings.
It is also the only way to have a relationship with him and his Father (John 14:21-24)
This is how we have a relationship with Christ and it is not alone but in unity with others. (John 17:20-23)
Linking Good works to self rightness is silly, it is about fulfilling the commandments of Christ.
A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. (John 13:34)
You do not get a relationship with Christ without good works.
God bless you

I'm watching this video in 2022. And I've realised my sin so much and my incapability to live a holy life on my own. I've been idolatrous, lustful, addicted to pornography.....But now I realised I've been missing the glory of God through my sin as you've said in Romans 3:23. I've never looked at it like that. Anyway, thankyou for this video and I'm ready to live out my new life through Christ. God bless you

I'm a Christian already and Left the Catholic church but prayed with you! It never gets old!
How were you saved?
So thankful to God for you Mike. You convey Biblical teaching and clarity. God Bless you.
NO he did not. What was made clear?
Christ be with you
yes this are often misrepresented verses.
It is not enough to simply call on the lord we must do what he has taught
Not doing so brings ruin and destruction(Luke 6:46-49)
to be live in our Hearts is to believe with love
This who love God obey his Commandments (john 14:15)
To believe unto righteousness we must do righteousness (1 John 3:7)
God bless you
I prayed with you. Thanks Mike. God bless us

I prayed a prayer of salvation at a camp as a teen and was baptized but it wasn't until I was nineteen that the Holy Spirit convicted me of my sin and I was saved.
I became a new creation and have had an assurance of salvation since that night almost 40 years ago.
What happened that night that you know that was when you got saved? And not at camp earlier- just curious thanks!
@@hailey5672 , I really saw my sin and repented in tears and then I sensed that I was forgiven. It's hard to describe but I was different afterwards . I wanted to read the Bible and I wanted to tell people about Jesus, etc...

“Come back to God!” For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ."
(2 Cor. 5: 19-21 NLT)
My blessed Savior and Lord. I praise you for freely giving me the Bread of Life. You replaced my darkness with your light, my fear with your security; and my despair with your hope. Remind me every day Father, that the Bread of Life I have in Jesus comes to me by your grace and through your love and that it delights your generous heart when I tell others where they can find and partake. Make me into an eager ambassador of Jesus Christ. Turn my fear into boldness so that heaven’s streets may be filled with men and women who love the Savior, in part because they first heard of his grace and mercy from my lips.
In Jesus’ name we pray.
Amen.
Open your eyes. Of course he sinned.
