Lol,nice my truck is set up at bottom of my driveway. Didn't want to take bunch of tools down so was checking the video to see if had size so didn't want to walk it twice lol
I laughed at the part about burning yourself with the exhaust pipe because I did exactly that right before I watched this. Got a huge burn on my arm lol
Thanks, I was going to change my oil yesterday but the mosquitos are terrible this time of year and it was getting late so I decided I would wait a day. I thought that I was going to have to take the skid plate off not realizing it's actually further rear than that. Mine is the Seirra but, same thing. This has saved me from removing the plate, thinking WTF? then searching for the drain plug haha.
I always do but you don't have to no! I work in a shop and it's so busy that I don't have time to so I just prime it but when I do have time I fill it first.
my change oil words will not go off and just change it yesterday.

Jerry Shannon Turn the key two clicks, do not start the engine, press down the accelerator pedal three times and keep it depressed on the third time for 10 seconds or so, this will reset your oil engine life to 100%.
That was plenty tight. It's an aluminum pan, I know plenty of people with helicoils in the pan because they thought it needed to be over tight. But yeah, I'd never use Fram.
Haha i had the same problem i let big o do my oil last time and i just redid it. The drain plug was too tight and oil filter i could easily unscrew with my hand. Big O has dumb asses working for them
Thanks TheyMightBeRacing, one note for anyone using this vid *it's a 15mm wrench needed to remove the drain plug.
for the win!
that's the only damn thing that I needed to know thank you so much
Thank you

Thanks from an old guy that only wants to crawl under the truck once. ;-)

if the oil filter is positioned like this one I like to fill it with oil before screwing it on..
If you can do it then it's a good thing. Preloading a system will always ensure that the fresh oil gets distributed more quickly.
just a quick note, the 5.3 holds about 6.25-6.50 quarts of oil.
Thank u all I needed to know
6 quarts! Please don’t overfill! Not good!
6 quarts no more no less bottom line this information 6.25-6.50 is total fake news 😒 probably a Democrat POS 🙄 😳 🤔
@@hondamancl450 like your mother lmao
Thank you! 😂
awesome man, really straight foward, im gonna do this to my GM this weekend, thanks for the vid
Dam this video still the truth thanks no way I’ll pay for another oil change !!!!!
just changed mine, i like where you said it was cute about the tightening of the bolts, one loose one tight. my oil plug was on way tight.
also don't forget to check for leaks after turning the engine on.

Thank you for the great video , I have to do mine this morning .
I just don't understand why they do a video of oil change and they buy total garbage oil filter 😕 just amazing 👏
not everyone believes the fram storys
thanks for the video...im goign to start changing my own oil to save seom money
Don't you have to press the pedal to take the engine oil service off the dash????
Yes three times
Fantastic vid. Keep it up this helped a lot
What size wrench are you using?
any advice for someone who lives on kinda a hill? truck facing uphill or downhill?
thank you the vid helped me a lot
Make sure you have the engine just a little warm so the oil will remove more sludge and contaminants.
Any lifter tap on ur Silverado
very simple process thanks for sharing
I saw someone put oil in the oil filter. Is that good to do?
I always do but you don't have to no! I work in a shop and it's so busy that I don't have time to so I just prime it but when I do have time I fill it first.
It’s highly recommended cause when you turn the car over with out it having oil it’s like running it with no oil for almost a minute
Great video, super easy
what size frame is that??
So helpful!
Nice, thanks dude!
Great video
Ahh man you didn’t say what size wrench for the drain bolt
15mm
thanks
Recommendation fill the oil filter with oil 1st
Great job! Wix!
Fram filters are garbage. Invest a little more in a Napa gold or wix filter.
Thanks bro
how often u change oil on silverado ?
Ali Saleh Every two weeks
Clyde Daddy 😁😁😁😁
when I get the message saying change oil soon
I do it every day after breakfast
Seems easy enough. With the price of things here you don't really save money doing it yourself
my change oil words will not go off and just change it yesterday.

@ are you being serious? Because my silverado does the same thing.
jay blue Of course I’m serious, that’s a standard procedure for this model.
@ man i tried that procedure & it worked lol.thanks alot man
jay blue You’re welcome, glad I could help.

Truck facing uphill. Put it in park, engage the parking brake and chock the wheels.

Good video but could have used a lot more detail!
Get a Purolator filter
warm warm warm warm
Orange can of death
He lost me with the Fram filter
i always write the date and miles on the oil filter , that's just me
You don't know a thing your just makeing a simple task take really long
you barly tightend the drain plug you used fram and you didnt fill up the filter with oil
That was plenty tight. It's an aluminum pan, I know plenty of people with helicoils in the pan because they thought it needed to be over tight. But yeah, I'd never use Fram.
+TOXIXIFY correct. Only like 15ftlbs to tighten those and that's not that much.
Good video and camera work, but that freaking barking dog.....agggghhhh, my wife's dogs irritate the hell out me when I'm trying to work outside.
Fram=fail.
Right don't buy Fram filter there no good
Alway out oil in oil filter.. Metal to metal = no good.
OMG, never use a Fram filter, on ANYthing!! They are junk.
Haha i had the same problem i let big o do my oil last time and i just redid it. The drain plug was too tight and oil filter i could easily unscrew with my hand. Big O has dumb asses working for them
