Dos grandes equipos de los 70, con Beckenbauer y Cruyff en cada uno, no es casualidad que hayan ganado tres copas de campeones cada uno en forma consecutiva. Ajax 71, 72 y 73, y Bayern 74, 75 y 76. Grandísimos equipos!
My father was there, having traveled from Holland by car with his friends. Ajax had already won the first leg in Amsterdam 4-0. Cruyff didn't play the game in Germany due to an injury.

The reason Bayern were able to win 3 times in a raw was 1-st the departure of Cruyff, followed by other stars (Nesskens, Rep). If Cruyff had stayed at Ajax, Bayern could have barely won one title, let alone three. Imagine if either Beckenbauer or Muller had left Bayern, then Bayern would have been struggling in mid table in Bundesliga! And they had luck on their side: In 1974, they were behind 0-1 against Atletico, and Swartsenbeck who barely scored, was able to score at the 89-th minute, and force a replay which Bayern won deservedly. Then in 1975 final against Leeds, the referee ignored Beckenbauer's foul against Alan Clarke and deprived Leeds an obvious penalty, and in the 2-nd half he called offside, Peter Lorimmer's legitimate goal. There is a clip on You Tube where even France Ruth, the Bayern midfielder agrees that it was a valid goal. To be fair, at least one Leeds United player who broke Bayern's Swedish defender's ankle had to be sent off, but overall the ref's incompetence hurt Leeds more than Bayern.
@@13muller9 I agree with you. Just one correction. Schwarzenbeck scored in the 119th minute after Luis Aragonés’ gorgeous free kick had opened the score earlier. Had Atlético won, Bayern would not have played the 1974-75 edition because Borussia Moenchengladbach won the BundesLiga that season.
@@kingwilson06ad Thanks for the correction; to the best of my recollection, I remembered it was in the last minute, but obviously I had forgotten about the extra time. Again relying on my "not perfect" memory, I think Gladbach won more Bundesliga titles in 1975,76 and 77 as well; the only reason Bayern was allowed to play in 1975-76 competition was because of their win over Leeds the year before in the final, and once in 1976-77 season , they were beaten by Dynamo Kief (to the best of my recollection), and failed to win the Bundesliga, they couldn't participate for at least 3 years as Koln and Hamburg won additional Bundesliga titles. Once again, thanks for your kind and informative response.
@@13muller9 yes, I recall that final against Leeds. One of the greatest robberies in the history of football. Beckenbauer always got away with murder just because of his flair and charisma. He nailed Alan Clarke to the ground!

Der Bomber👍🏻
Imagine Messi or Ronaldo were playing in that era
Why?
They wouldn't score any goals at all - the defenders in those days could tackle and do not need 9 players in the box to stop goals..
Cruyff didn't play? I didn't see him.
