Till the 80th minute the score was only 2-1, a pity for Ajax those 3 goals of Bayern between the 80th and 90th minute. Beautiful goal of Frank Arnesen, who scored 0-1 in the 19th minute at 2:32-2:59.

Bayren 80ts was great team but they were unlucky to win euro championship they lost two major games semi final vs Liverpool and final vs Aston Villa though they were in both games the favorite....
And Hamburg and Koeln beaten by Nottingham after playing much better than its opponent. They were very unlucky years for German teams against English ones.
Ajax Amsterdam also lost to a British club, Nottingham Forest (semi finals European Cup 1 tournament, 1979/1980 season, 2-0 away loss, 1-0 home win, 1-2 on aggregate).. The British supremacy in The European Cup 1 tournament lasted from 1976/1977 till 1981/1982, with 2 x Liverpool, 2 x Nottingham Forest, 1 x Liverpool again, and 1 x Aston Villa.

You're so right. I was a goalie in early 70's and... Oh fuck. In 1980 it was all plastic but still pretty heavy. What they use these days... is a joke. I really admire today's goalies.

I used to play as a full back and I remember the balls getting lighter from playing in School and College teams with heavier balls to competitive teams in League's on Saturdays through the 90s and early 2000s. The balls were lighter in the 90s and didn't hurt so much the header as the 80s - but in the mid 2000s they became like beachballs.
IDK how many goalkeepers are watching this but when I was taught the finer points of goalkeeping, my coach taught me to NEVER put a ball back in play inside your six. Hold it, and if you can’t then put it out of play. Today, every keeper I see parries the ball away. I guess they’ve found a better method.
