Any test that can be so easily thrown off by simply drinking water should not even be a test needed to take

I went to a doctor's office to take a urine test. His nurse handed me a plastic cup with a lid. She pointed to the restroom and told me to leave a urine sample in the cup. A couple minutes later I walked out and handed her the cup empty. She asked, "Why are you giving me an empty cup?" I told her that I didn't need it because there was a toilet in there.

I haven’t smoked weed in 110 days I’ve been testing myself before I get my DOT exam. When I test the line is very faint. Is that considered negative?
That would be considered a weak positive. Negative results can have no discrepancies

I just realized I drank an electrolyte drink about an hour before my urine test. Although the drink is “sugar free” should I be concerned about that drink throwing off the glucose/sugar reading in the urine?
I just left the doctor and they found blood in my urine but they told me that it wasn’t enough not to past me or it’s not enough to consider it to be a medical issue….it was found to be 1+ and she told me not to worry about it and to go ahead and proceed with my orientation

My last DOT test readings said that I had a trace amount of blood in my urine but when I saw my doctor he said that for some reason those kinds of readings/misreadings happened often with those test. This was about two years ago and I haven’t had any problems since. Is a misreading common or typical to happen like this? I’ve never seen any blood in my urine and my kidneys feel and function just fine.
i suppose this could happen. I have not seen it in my practice.
@@EasyDOTPhysicals my wife had the same thing happen at her DOT a couple of months later at the same clinic with same test also! It just seems a little suspicious because her doctor also checked her out and nothing was wrong also thankfully
trace amounts of blood, protein, or sugar in your urine is not abnormal. Blood in urine could happen after intensive exercise, and for woman can occur during menstruation.

I had blood in my urine and the physician told me I had better see my Urologist to get it checked out; and he passed me. I did check with the Urologist and I did have a kidney stone that I had taken out a couple of months later. My question is; my brother in Michigan just took his DOT physical today and he too had blood in his urine but the doctor would not pass him on the test until he went and see his Urologist first. The earliest appt. he could get was on the last day of his Medical Certificate. Why couldn't that doctor pass him and tell him that he needs to see his Urologist? Now he's up against a dead line that is going to cause big problems with the DOT licencse.

What happen if my urine temperature box wasnt checked but it wasnt cold or too hot

false positives are possible but usually the medical officer will ok the results if you have a good reason.

this will likely not cause a failure. The ultimate determination must be made by the doctor doing the exam

We don't and it isn't required by the FMCSA. I can't speak to every doctors protocol however.

I'm a cdl driver and run a hydrovac. I went through hoops to get my medical card last year. I'm up for getting one because I got it for 1 year. What exactly do they check for in medical physical ? Let says I don't tell them I have diabetes. Which I don't take insulin or anything for it. I don't like medications I'm 39 years of age. And never like medications. So day of physical if I just go in their. What do they check for to prevent from me getting a medical card.

The DOT physical does not check for drugs. CDL drivers will be randomly tested however

That may depend on the severity. There are not definitive standards from the Fmcsa
I’m a little confused because I thought you guys do check for drugs. Now that I know there’s 2 different UA tests, do we give 2 different ua samples for dot physicals AND for the drug test? Or will the same sample be used for both tests?
We usually use the same sample if you can provide enough

As far as dividing samples when testing for both drugs and indications of diabetes, does the division of a sample, to be drug tested, occur at the initial physical only or might physical renewals also include drug tests?
Or am I thinking too much into this and there is absolutely no drug test during a renewal physical?
I'll abstain from pot and I have about a month before the test, but it would really relieve some stress knowing what to expect.

No, random tests, return to duty, reasonable suspicion are all reasons the DOT tests

I'm not sure what type of test you are having as PH is not one of the things we look for during the standard DOT physical.

@@chrissartain5374 During the DOT physical specifically there is not a drug test. You will be tested for drugs and alcohol if you fall into safety sensitive positions. Please watch my video on this. Individual companies are also allowed to request drug tests if they so desire.

Is it required to pass the dot exam, hernia checks on the driver? Inguinal and femoral hernias. My experience is sometimes I am checked for hernias but other dot exams I am not checked out for hernias. Just curious and confused on the actual fmcsa rule
Hernia checks are not a mandatory part of the DOT physical like vision and hearing tests. Each examiner is free to decide what they need to check for to determine if it is safe for someone to drive.
Thank you for the information on the hernia check. So I cud turn the hernia checks down and still pass the Dot exam, examiner probably would just document (refused hernia check)
not really, if the provider feels it is necessary and you refuse they would most likely not certify you
Ok thank you for that information 6 years ago I did let the provider check for hernia. Didn't refuse, so that clears it up totally!! Provider has lots of discretion on whether you pass dot exam or not, thank you for your quick response. Best information I have ever received about Dot physical exams.

Why am I getting picked for a random DOT drug test almost every time and only 2 months apart?? Bad luck maybe but I am prescribed hydro for severe back pain and my company has the dr note saying I’m ok to drive, some days I take more than prescribed can they really tell if I’m taking more than what I’m scripted in urine that’s the big question thank you please answer as I just pissed again today new sub here
if drugs that you have a prescription for show up on the test you will likely get contacted by the medical review officer. If you can justify why you take it they may allow it.

Its not called something specific? I went to the store to find a "at home kit" and went to the local lab and no one knew what it would be called. I wanted to take one before starting the real process. I'm just trying to not waste the Doctor proving the exam/ schools time if I'm not fit to pass. Also piece of mind for my self.

Can a person on dialysis pass a D.O.T. Physical?
You will not be automatically disqualified. Certification will depend on how the condition affects your ability to safely drive. At very least you should bring in to the physical a letter from your treating physician stating that he/she believes it is safe for you to drive commercially.
