Thanks for the detailed explanation of rv air conditioning. I just got a used 5th wheel, turned on the a/c and thought it must need recharged with Freon or something. I’m going to give it a try again with the information you have provided and see how it works.
7:577:57. Thank you for this video. I have tried the suggestions you made. My question is- is the compressor supposed to stay on when the system is asking for cool air? Ours keeps cutting out and the fan blows hot air. We have been running the a/c for almost 2 hrs. The temperature has not changed. Thank you
You sir are soo AWESOME....question why does my rv ac unit runs continuously and of course warm air. Sorry but I did not understood this last one. 😅 whew! In the back is cool but the front OH MY GOSH! It's 90 degrees! HELP
I have a Coleman mark with no power to the compressor I check the capacitors and they are good. Why won’t compressor come on? I checked the compressor and it’s good.
Hi Paul, love ur videos! In this video I can add leaving the vent fan on for at least a half hour cause hot air rises and cold air sinks. It will help the cold air to filter down quicker because you can't add new air in without removing hot air. The other thing that slows down the cooling is that if the temp is say 95 degrees then everything is 95 degrees ( all furniture, accessories, and everything). So you are not only fighting the hot air but the furniture is also radiating hot air also. That needs to cool also. Great video and right on but this is just some useless and pointless information. 😂💥
Thanks for Watching. Customers call me after doing this way for the first time and appreciate that I explained it to them. I do understand that there are some people who don’t need this explained to them, because they already get iit.
Hello I have a question when you first started the air you opened the extra air vent on the unit once the air has run and the RV is cooler do you leave those quick cool features open the ones on the actual air unit ,or do you close them? Not the small vents in bathroom or kitchen
So on a Coleman lantern 2020 263BH, Where could I find the filters to clean them or change them out? Great video👍...I been running mine on Auto not sure because thinking so the lines don't freeze. I'll have to try this way. No issues with my AC as of yet. Ty in advance
Great vid! I installed a new Coleman Mach roof unit in the bedroom. Vents are cleaned regularly. The cooling fins are clean. The dial settings are: High Fan, Low Fan, Low Fan, OFF, Low Cool and High Cool. The 2nd dial adjusts the temp setting. So the fan is on Auto during the cooling settings, no changing it. The thing freezes up on a regular basis when on High Cool and Low Cool. I have to turn on High Fan to deice the fins. It makes zero sense to me that it's icing up. I can't just set it and forget it. I have to babysit the thing. Frustrating. The trailer came with a Coleman Mach in the living area that works great. Any help will be appreciated.
We are having a similar issue with ours. Suggested that power draw may be the culprit. At a 30 amp site we had no problems. Using a amp reduction at home saw issues. Just a thought.
Same issue. Coleman Mach in bedroom of 5th wheel and in the back as well. 2 separate thermostat. Race track ducting for both to share. In Florida we typically need to run both to keep the 43ft camper cool. I've tried setting different temps so it goes off quicker. I've used just the front and not the back when temps are not so hot outside. Kept the bedroom door closed so that extra humidity isn't let in when the door is opens alot. Made sure the air dumps are closed off. The best thing that helped some, but not a fix.....I fixed the divider wall inside which was offset a little, used AC foil tape to secure the wall and seal the 2 sides off and added foil tape inside the return area to create a better flow path. I also added foil tape to the discharge side where it enters the ceiling ducts to create a better flow path. There's a few videos on that process you can look at. I also checked and remounted the anti-freeze probe. Most say to do that first. But it freezes over still and that probe doesn't even trigger it to deice. The real fix.....IDK.
I have a 2022 GE Air conditioner and the trouble im having is.. first if all it was running perfectly two weeks ago ( ice cold) then on our next trip it gave me trouble were i can hear the compressor klick on and runs cold but after a couple minutes it kicks off and inly blows cool air not cold. Also I noticed no condensation was dripping off the roof. Any ideas because i cant get an appointment with the dealer till the end of September but we have 2 more trips coming up in the next couple weeks. Any ideas?
I have a 2022 Thor with the, I assume, same GE unit. A/C had been working fine. Kept it at 78° while parked in my driveway to keep things from melting in the hot NC summer. Went out to the RV the other day and it is not blowing cold, let alone COOL air. 80° to be exact. I thought maybe with the continuous use the unit may have froze up. Let it sit for a day and a half, still no luck. It sounds like the compressor is kicking on too. I will go out tonight, close up all the blinds, sun shade the front window and try again. Thanks for the video.
How long can you run the ColmanMac can you run it all day and night. I don't think it's cooling 20 degrees. 94-99, and I can't get it cool. Nighttime is the high 80s, and the RV is always hot. It feels like it's blowing cold air, but the air will not drop in temp.
Just got a 2021 Imagine by GD. My AC is not blowing cold air, I had it running about 15 min with the vent fans on and it still would not blow cold air. It sounds like it's trying cycle or something the air will blow for a minute and then you can hear the ac sound like it is struggling and the air flow reduces for like 30 seconds then starts blowing normal but still not cold. Any Ideas? Thanks in advance.
Hey there you are awesome!!....in the past with your info you've helped me with plumbing.😊 Now its hot in here, I have done what you said with thermostat actually I've been doing b 4 I seen this video. The deal is...unit will blow but real warm air now when it comes to the evening it'll start workn perfectly nice n cool. Soo cool that i have to turn it up some i have no complains with that. Sometimes its unbearable my poor animals are like with their tongue out along with me! lol!🤪 Do I have to put freon like a car or what??? It's weird it works @ night only! HEEELP!!!! 😉🐶😁
Not a video for trouble shooting. Only information about a common problem that I get questioned on from clients on a regular basis. I was just a sales guy not a service tech. SOrry!
I just got a camper and having ac problems. The ac seems to not the cooling right. I check the coils and it was really dirty. I got the coils really clean. This is a 2004 Jayco. Only has 2 vents. In front and in back. 24 ft. It will blow cold about 45 degrees then goes back down. I here it clicking on and off. I had the ac off today so I could clean the coils. It got about 95 degrees inside. After cleaning everything. Coils and filter. I turned it back on about 5 hrs later it only got to about 79 degrees in camper. And it was sun down. It blows pretty hard out of the front vent by the door but the back by restroom doesn’t blow very hard. It’s doesn’t seem like there is much room either for the air to come like the front vent. Do you have any suggestions? Anyone?
@@TheAirForceGuy IR thermometers read the surface temp of an object, not direct air temperature. Your IR thermometer is reading the temp of a surface inside the vent. It’s ok for a general idea of the temp once the surface temp has adjusted to,the surrounding air temp. It should not be used when you need accurate air temp readings. There are some people who do not understand the RV A/C and this is what i explain to customers when they ask me. So, I just made a video to help others. I do realize that some people know everything and do not need this small bit of advise. :)
Thanks for watching. I get lots of people telling me that their A/C doesn’t cool their camper. After I explain what I explain in this video they say it is much better. Sorry it didn’t help you.
No I did not. Has nothing to do with trouble shooting. Only how to get your A/C working best. Too many people are not told about how to operate and think they have an issue. Sorry it was not helpful for you

The Dometic Air Command AC unit is the best. Originally an Atwood design made in Australia.

So where’s the fix
In the details. It is how you use the A/C.

It might be the thermostat. Otherwise I have no idea. Sorry, as a salesman I know enough to be dangerous. I would ask an A/C or RV Tech.

My compressor is not coming on in my new 2024 ford Winnebago Ekko. Any ideas
There are a few things that could be the issue. Have you called the A/C company? Really need a Tecto look to see what the issue is. Best of Luck

yours I have a 5th wheel 2016? Don't know if that makes a difference. Thanks Paul. 🤣
Main thing is to run it with the Fan in the On position

only blows warm during piek heat time of the day
What about older colemans?
Just bought a used six-year-old camper and when I test the outlet air it’s only 10° cooler than the inlet air.
Have a friend his Dometic 3500 btu not working was told he has air lock what doe that mean and can it be fixed ?

Never use a laser thermometer to check air Temps. The laser only takes surface Temps. Get a power probe temp reader

Better to put a house aircond in the roof rv units are a waste of money

Why does my ac shit off completely when I turn it on auto ac? Regardless the temp set
Need to call service
