From what I've seen the past couple years, it doesn't even matter, for snow especially. El Nino, La Nina, we had the same result. Summer storms are different though. We had some pretty intense storms from 2020 to 2022 during that multi-year La Nina event, not as much in 2023 which is coincidentally the same year the super Nino event started, later in the year though. The best year was 2020 where iirc, we had a severe weather risk every few days it seemed. We put on at least 25k miles on our car that year, a lot from work too, but still. There was a lot of chasing that year.
If El Nino continues into the summer, based off the past, we won't get many storms unfortunately. Maybe a few decent storms with 1 or 2 great storms like last year, especially the July 20th MCS (3rd year in a row of intense July 20th storms too).
