As a Mexican looking to start going vegan I would like to say that you are a super hero!!!!! Thank you so much for making these videos. I came across your channel from someone linking your video on the subreddit r/vegan and I instantly subscribed. Keep up the amazing videos!!!!!!!!
Girrrlll!!!! When I tell you I made these and my (non vegan) family could not even tell it was jackfruit !! My family traditionally here in texas we made the red tamales but I wanted to try something different and yaaasss *chefs kiss* I made 60 plus bean tamales to share with my family and I had 0 left I had to hide some so I could have some to take home!!! They are amazing !! Keep doing what you do much love ✌✌✌❤❤❤ and merry Christmas!!
You are AMAZING. That's literally what I planned to make for Christmas and as I was shopping for ingredients today, BOOM, I get the notification that you uploaded this! Coincidence? I think not!! Btw, I'm also 23 and only started learning how to cook when I became vegan lol! 😂
Thank you so much!!!! Wow that’s crazy haha how exciting, love tamal season 🫔💕 & Omg, I’m glad I’m not alone! I fell in love with cooking when I became vegan, it’s taken some practice but it’s been super fun!!
thank you so much! i just came across your tiktok! i’ve been vegan for over a year now and it’s still hard to see my family eat all of my holiday favorites this time of year. i can’t wait to try your recipes💗 happy holidays!
I’m happy I could help out with the festivities ❤️ That’s really why I started my channel, to show how comfort/holiday/childhood favs can be recreated! Thank you for your kind comment & happy holidays ☺️
I love your videos! I definitely been looking for authentic Mexican food with that vegan twist and your videos have been super helpful! Thank youuuuuuu!!!
Wow so glad I found your channel! I'm not vegan. Mostly vegetarian but I really want to learn cooking and recipes rather than prepared or frozen foods 😰
About how many tamales will you get out of this recipe? And if I want to make more should I double it or is it better to make in small batches? 🤔 So excited to make these!!
I think it is so great that so many of us get into cooking while transitioning! I went vegetarian when I was 12 and all I knew how to make was Hamburger Helper with fake beef and macaroni and cheese LOL. 😭😝 Almost 20 years later and I've grown so much! It is almost a necessity if you went to not spend $1000000 on vegan convenience Foods LOL. 😂 I absolutely love seeing veganized traditional Regional food! Thank you so much for sharing with us. 💜
SAME!!! haha when I made them before they were great but my omnivore family’s criticism was that they needed more grease so I tested out many different amounts & this one is it! They’re so soft now!! Thank you for the support 💕💕
Yay! Goodluck, I hope it goes well 💕 & I usually mix like 3 lipstick colors!! I use KVD beauty or Damaris cosmetics but no specific shades! I’d have to look🥲 Thank you love
I got mine from a local farmer’s market called Sprouts. You can find it at any organic-oriented stores, or you can find it on Amazon/Walmart! I would also suggest you to Google it this way: native forest organic young jackfruit instacart. That’s how I found my jackfruit at Sprouts :)
Hey I was wondering if we can recommend dishes for you to make because you seem so creative and I have no idea where to start. I've really been wanting to learn to make vegan queso fresco because it's literally my favorite thing in the whole world.
Hi love! I have a vegan queso fresco recipe with my red enchiladas video! Maybe I need to refilm it separatly better quality. You can definitely recommend ideas ! I take them all in :D 💕
Canned young jackfruit is neutral in taste & will absorb any flavors you add in! Ideal for “meat” recipes. Fresh jackfruit is sweet like mango hehe thank you 🖤🖤
You’re so amazing! I made the other tamale recipe and it was 🔥 Can you make a ceviche recipe? You’re my go to vegan Mexican recipe channel and I would love to see how you make ceviche :)
If you have a pot that has a steamer on the bottom, I only add enough water to cover the bottom. Not enough to overflow the holes! If it dries out, just refill 😍 usually you don’t need too!
My mom does them this way too!! That’s been my debate about making chiles relleno bc a lot of people stuff them with picadillo, veggies, etc but my family always did them with Queso fresco too. I have my own recipe for queso fresco!! If you want to check it out, it’s on my red enchiladas video! I will be testing it inside! Your comment inspired me to film that soon! 🤗
@@airamcooks oh I didn’t even know you had a recipe.I will definitely check it out. Tomorrow I’m gonna make the quesabirria tacos from your video. You’re the best 💖💖 I’ll be looking forward to it 🥰
Tomorrow 15 vegan channels release green vegan tamale recipes 🙄 Hey to deskin the peppers MUCH easier, wrap them in a few damp paper towels and then stick them in the bag ;r) I fn looove peppers and Mexican food 🔥 aznativelife I need that cookbook! 👌
I coincidently tried that brand of jackfruit today, and it has brine they just didn't label it as such. salt and water are the main ingredients of brine.
Yes, the only difference is really that trader joe’s jackfruit has citric acid & this one has lime! Somehow regardless this brand is so much better & neutral tasting 💕
I have found my people.. Mexican vegans 😭🌱♥️ #hallelujah
Welcome welcome hehe 💕💕
I’ve been vegan for some years now and always had trouble getting the masa right but these look amazing. That green salsa looks bomb af!

Being new to your channel I’d like to make a request. Any chances of being able to make a vegan version of Chiles rellenos?
Of course! 💕 I will love!
How much water do you add to the pot?
If you have a pot that has a steamer on the bottom, I only add enough water to cover the bottom. Not enough to overflow the holes! If it dries out, just refill 😍 usually you don’t need too!
@@airamcooks thanks 😊🥰
Can you use regular instant corn masa instead of the tamal one? :)
I would say no because tamal maseca comes textured & is slightly different ☺️
@@airamcooks Oh okay, thank you! :)
Can you please do vegan Chile rellenos?!? 🥺🥺🥺
Yes! Definitely💕💕 What do you personally like inside your chile rellenos?
