I am ashamed to say I have never heard of Kurt Rosenwinkle until I read that Eric Clapton said the guy was a guitar genius. So here I am to listen for myself .... Eric Clapton is not wrong, Kurt has another fan, absolutely brilliant jazz guitar.
i hear you and agree! if you like this, i recommend to check the musical making off pixar´s "the incredibles" - i´m a professing pixar fan and since i stumbled into the making off "cars", i know that these guys don´t work for the money in the first place but put a lot of serious heartfelt effort into their works - anyway, in the mentioned film, an hommage to the old sci-fi agent movies, they decided to have real old school big band music - in the making off you can see the giant effort put into realising it, it´s fantastic!
I just made one with quite the opposite opinion. Using earphones, the mix is completely empty in the middle as long as the winds are mentioned. Very unnatural, very unpleasant. Sounds like the engineer dont have much knowledge of the genre.... (guitar, piano in the focus, half of the winds (perheaps the woods) are on the left completely, brass are on the right completely. It's disgusting. Perheaps its not as bad on speakers, if the room isnt very isolated, or you're not in the sweetspot.
oh, it´s just one and a half dozend here, but i keep working, haha - and - - - not tired at all, in fact discovering new delicate details every time... cheers my friend
@@normandy2501 good work mate - i just have to think of one of my specials from my younger years: "concerto for orchestra" by bela bartok - i discovered it among my mom´s classic records, and i was fascinated by that eerie owl looking at me from the cover, which was of course a portrait of bartok himself - i listened to the music and got hooked immediately - that was when i was 16/17 if i remember right - from then on i kept listening to it over and over again - the nicest hearing was almost a decade later when i visited a friend in berlin - when i woke up in the morning, a warm and sunny summer morning, the window was wide open and i heard a strange music which found its way from another open window, through the dust bins and bicycles in the dusty backyard, straight into my ears: the "concerto" - yes!!! i turned around in the bed, snuggled in and listened and it were the whole fuve movements from start to end - incredible... :-) then again some years later i payed a lot of money to see it being performed live by orchestra - i thought i knew every tone ad part, but - - - again i discovered so many new turns in that piece, wow! i can only say: i´m very thankful for experiences like these... :-) all the best to you from germany, keep going........
The energy in this and the structure of the tune is just amazing. Kurt is really a fantastic composer and a guitarist. The melody is so strong it even sticks without the harmonies/punches/countermelody/pads.
HELL YEAH... makes me think of the Steve Mcqueen movie era.. Awesome tune, great playing. This is the first i hear of K. Rosenwinkel as i was looking for some new inspiring jazz artists. Made my day !
Beautiful collaboration I love the whole production. The guitar is my favourite instrument. Kurt is amazing plus I love the arrangement. Many thanks to all participants.
Ouch .... no words ..... my god .... I love it sooo ..... this is important ... History, please, note that our generation does good things .... please...
Kurt is a genius, iconic and love his jazz lines, his beautiful tone and creativity, and what an amazing musical piece and orchestra, such great musicians, I wish I was in the room just taking it all in! Plus I was scratching my head hows he at two places at once😂 love this piece, great job Kurt! 🔥
yea me to..I headed in a clinic...so we have to study music and appreciate the work and talent of others...a question where you heared tosin talking about kurt?...music connect peoples, countries and every musician...XD

Awesome. A masterpiece IMHO. What I would like to know is of the 170 "thumbs down" on this piece, how many were raccoons and rabbits? You gotta be kidding me.
Magistrales el tema musical, los arreglos, la interpretación (especialmente de KR) y todo. El video además es una joya, tanto por su nitidez como por su edición. De culto!
Kurt is so good he's in two places at once!
dude straight time traveled
Nah, they had to hire two Kurts. That is expensive
No, they partnered with NHGR to test cloning methods
more like he is in allll the places. :P
Quantum playing. It's a new thing.
I am ashamed to say I have never heard of Kurt Rosenwinkle until I read that Eric Clapton said the guy was a guitar genius.

Ditto here Roger, I’m ashamed of myself 😱
You should also listen to Martijn van Iterson and Peter Bernstein
🤓
There are not enough comments on here on the sound mix. It's spectacular. Stereo at its finest.
i hear you and agree!

Me too
now it´s time dude
Kurt's playing is so melodic and the way he creates the solo and adds more tension into it little by little is astounding. He's a true master.
Absolutely fabulous the ways melodies build and drive you. It is energetic and evocative.
My heart belongs to any man who can play jazz guitar like Kurt!
This gets to prove that jazz is still strong and vibrant genre
Agree. Jazz have recovered from fusion without becoming dry traditionalist orthodoxy.
+George Kgang Jazz will never die.
Kurt's nodding is head during his own solo thinking "Shit yeah I'm the fuckin best"
Steps forward in the jazz language. I've listened to all from kurt's music I can. It's about not only guitar virtuosity but composition, music itself.
I can’t stop watching and listening! This one is fantastic! Thanks Kurt and all!
The energy in this and the structure of the tune is just amazing. Kurt is really a fantastic composer and a guitarist. The melody is so strong it even sticks without the harmonies/punches/countermelody/pads.
These jazz players are SO CLEAN. No fret buzz or anything even while shredding
the care and effort I imagine was put into the setup of this recording
I love this piece! Kurt is so lyrical and one of those cats that has truly found his own voice...
Longtemps que j'avais pas entendu un si beau morceau.. Un très grand guitariste, avec un très bon orchestre et de beaux arrangements !!!

Greatest jazz guitar performance of the 2000's IMHO.
Good times in music 🎶 🎵 this will never expire.. but it will inspire
Bright light, bright as tge sun this man radietes, beautiful soul, heavenly.
the melody and 12/8 pattern is what draws the distinct Metheny correlation....Kurt is a badass regardless....oh, and the vocal unison too. Go Kurt !

What can I say? Kurt is one of my favorite current generation jazz guitarists!
Such a killer solo!
Just saw this guy last night at the Village Vanguard in New York. It was incredible!
Wow, he's somewhere between Wes Montgomery and Alan Holdsworth, love it
That's a great way to put it
He said he's trying to be a cross between Grant Green and Allan Holdsworth.
Kurt is in a different dimension. Those guys are great, but Kurt is well beyond them.
michael carpenter idk if thats true and either way i don't think you're looking at it the right way...
Astonishing, beautiful, unique...
Awesome intonative counterpoint & improvisational conception!
Magistrales el tema musical, los arreglos, la interpretación (especialmente de KR) y todo. El video además es una joya, tanto por su nitidez como por su edición. De culto!
