I would've loved if you take the commander abilities into count. I think that they are a really big game-changer and the different abilities for the north, south and the australians really change the way if I like the army's commanders
@@Bbhskklh a bit late but if you are still wondering, the Aussie grenadier class allows a main weapon and a thumper at the same time. You spawn in with an aussie smg, but nothing is stopping you from picking up a better main weapon.
The reason the Marines don't have the XM17 is because they got less funding in real life and had to use more leftovers from the army (obviously not to the same extent as ARVN though)
K50M has the retractable stock which decreases ADS time. PPSH with drum is incredibly slow. Type 56-1 is great in trenches. Using the stocks retracted has improved my enjoyability of the the AK.
Also I agree that in this game Australia rules, I like playing as commander and they have the best airpower abilities, the L1 kicks ass, the F1 is the best smg in the game by far and the hi power is the best pistol, I sometimes even use it over my primary which I would never do as other factions.
Fun fact: The PAVN never declared war on the ARVN they sent volunteers to their guerilla campaign where NLF was made for a guerilla campaign in the south
What? In 1972 the PAVN launched a failed conventional invasion of South Vietnam, and again in 1975 where they won. Maybe war was never officially declared by the Americans or the North Vietnamese but they were at war.
Garand sniper has the best iron sights to switch to, which makes it a great jack of all trades gun. Need to snipe? Scope. Gotta move in to help finish the cap? Switch to iron sights. Takes some getting used to nail those moving targets at 150m and beyond though.
Flash suppressor is its biggest strength, makes it so easy to sit in a bush and pop away and not get picked up by the people observant enough to look for muzzle flashes.

With the PAVN the real PAVN switched to green uniforms around 1967, as they had exhausted their old surplus of khaki uniforms and started getting new Chinese ones. My guess is that tripwire didn’t add this into the game as it would cause confusion and much more friendly fire.

Tan-coloured uniforms actually do well in woodland environments. Think of tigers, wolves or bears. Their fur isn't green yet they're very good at concealing themselves. Historically, the US Army got the newer stuff ahead of the marines. Except in 1983 when they received the M16A2 ahead of the Army and in recent years when they received the M27 IAR which is supposedly better than the M4.
M3 Grease Gun really isn't a peashooter, it's my go to choice. It one taps body at close-medium range, it goes brrrr, the recoil isn't insane, and you can flip the stock for close quarters
I think for this game the devs made some pretty odd differences between the army and marines. They do accurately portray the Marines having more leftover weapons from Korea, but they innaccurately portray them as being able to use woodland camo which didn't come in until late in the war. Really they should have given the Marines more MG and grenadier classes since their squads were setup differently than the army to have more firepower, and two they should have access to naval artillery on coastal maps.
Therefore the Army would = Better and more modern weapons, earlier access to the M16 on campaign while the Marines would = Older weapons but more specialist classes.
It does depend on the units of course, since Force Recon Marines did get some more advanced weaponry that Navy SEALs were issued like the Stoner 63 and such. Some also got CAR-15s which as far as I've seen and read was mainly an Army issued weapon
I love viet cong and mostly play only with em (maybe bc I am a communist lol), but Australia is clearly the better faction, and has very powerful commander abilities (bombee). Ho chi minh trail and ambush are amazing. I think that south forces have the disadvantage that playing as a SL is pretty boring, whereas north can just tunnel and go brrrr.
I might make a video on it, but I love having claymores, they are good for clearing out a bush area especially if you cant see where the enemies are, you'd be surprised at how good it works

yup, every faction has different variants of artillery.
One of the reasons why I like the ARVN is because sometimes when you get a kill as them your character laughs maniacally but it is very rare though

The m2 carbine is the perfect trench sweeper. High rate of fire, plenty of rounds, you literally cannot go wrong in cqb with that baby.
