I actually live a few blocks down from this store. It’s been around since I could remember a lot of the neighborhood skaters would purchase their clothes from this location.
Drove and walked by here for decades and never noticed this place. My aunt used to live across and down the street on Elizibeth, maybe 500 feet from the store. The cholo subculture is big in Los Angeles and I'm not into that at all but I'm surprised that I never heard of this place considering so many people wear/cosplay these clothes. Maybe my cousins mentioned it and forgot but I like that you can wear these clothes beyond the cholo culture. I wouldn't mind wearing these clothes and shirts as long as I didn't look like a gangster, like how the host is wearing his favorite pants but despite using Ben Davis he styles himself pretty fresh and without any gangster vibes. Classic old school without all the gangster subculture nonsense.
I wear a 42 waist, see i give up a lot on vintage stores as its rare they carry sizes that big. Seeing this store makes me want to run to it but I am over the pond sadly. Great video

Southgate is so big in retrospect it won’t be out of the ordinary as LA has very unique styles I don’t think you’ll see anywhere else in the world. A mix of cowboy, vintage, postmodern, midwestern, streetwear, 90s punk, ska button up, anything you can think of etc.
The organizer in me would want to volunteer to sort everything out for them. A lot of people might see $$$ in all this, which of course there’s money to be made, but this shop should find a way to permanently brand these items and sell them for what they would’ve originally sold for. The branding would be to make it harder for resellers to mark them up. Especially if the shop publicly states that’s they want their stock to go to people who’ll wear it and use it. If you can’t tell I hate the thrift scene these days
