@DefensisIndus yes the owners are white and it's in America obviously lol but I'm tryna give a history lesson on this great store, it's the last original clothing store for a reason, Hollywood also has gotten clothes here for some classic movies like the sandlot and la bamba amongst many others, Ice cube also used to shop there before he was famous
As a collector of Pendleton shirts and blankets I’m going to have to make my way down there. I usually make a pilgrimage to the factory store in Oregon every year, but that’s all current stock. I’d LOVE to get my hands on some mid-60s stock.
@@MoreThanAMuppet I love Pendleton as well and I can say they do carry a bit of everything you'll see hope you get the chance to go down there in South gate
Apparently he only foams at the mouth when its white dudes from old movies and pics that he thinks the shit is fashionable. Things like ben davis only become cool when its another white man wearing them and finding out about them for the first time. Kendrick said it best they not like us
This is the shit I live for. I used to pick clothes for a vintage store here in Colorado and they’d send me to LA to look through rag houses but I would’ve came here if I knew it existed!! Love old clothes hahaha
That ish had me weak😂. This the first video I’ve seen of him and I live like 40 min from this store imma give him a follow. But ya would’ve been nice he he showed some representation for the raza but he probably just didn’t wanna be even the slightly bit controversial
YES this is the edgy Albert long form content I’m here for. You should do this kind of exploration video at Jet Rag in Weho and Iguana Vintage Clothing in Sherman Oaks.
That shop looks fantastic! The bottom of that pile must be amazing, hope there might be a point where someone (hopefully you) is able to uncover what grails are hiding there.
This is awesome I would love to get up there in that room full.of gems 😊❤ thanks for sharing this hopefully they get some more shoppers and they can get to some of that stock back there ❤😊
What a great video, Albert. Awesome production and editing. Please let me know where I can submit to be the star of your Queer Eye-esque makeover video.
It’s funny how he think he discovered greenspans when he like “before I upload and you guys find out and come” like people have been going forever that place never gonna shut down they always have business before this guy ever made a video lmao
Remember wearing these clothes back when we ran the streets with not much money, and now it definitely isn't for that anymore. Prices are up there for "gang attire" 😂
The brands and store been around for as long as they have because of the latino and black "sub cultures" you didnt have the balls to acknowledge directly. You nepo baby hipsters would squeeze them dry and just pimp these cultures just because you can. They dont need yall nor do they want all their stock gone just because you hipsters think its cool for a season or two. Nice try with the "the family owned going out of business" angle tho @@edgyalbert
I wear a 42 waist, see i give up a lot on vintage stores as its rare they carry sizes that big. Seeing this store makes me want to run to it but I am over the pond sadly. Great video
I’ve never been to California, I’m from the PNW, but even up here Ben Davis & Pendleton have been the staple since the dawn of man; that being said I’ve heard so much about Greenspan’s since I was a literal child, and this video is the only one to ever do them the justice of exhibiting just how quintessential they are in the grander scheme of things 🍻🫡🐐🔥
I actually live a few blocks down from this store. It’s been around since I could remember a lot of the neighborhood skaters would purchase their clothes from this location.
Drove and walked by here for decades and never noticed this place. My aunt used to live across and down the street on Elizibeth, maybe 500 feet from the store. The cholo subculture is big in Los Angeles and I'm not into that at all but I'm surprised that I never heard of this place considering so many people wear/cosplay these clothes. Maybe my cousins mentioned it and forgot but I like that you can wear these clothes beyond the cholo culture. I wouldn't mind wearing these clothes and shirts as long as I didn't look like a gangster, like how the host is wearing his favorite pants but despite using Ben Davis he styles himself pretty fresh and without any gangster vibes. Classic old school without all the gangster subculture nonsense.
It's not resonating with the city, I live in the city of Southgate and nobody wears Pendleton's here maybe just a select few but, it's resonating with the culture.😊 Mostly Southern California and then other music rich countries such as Japan and then worldwide. You're welcome!
That would be so awesome I'm not really into Ben Davis but am into clothes and shoes heavy so I feel your excitement I would love to look into a store of my liking back stock from the 80's hopefully they hooked you up with clothes you should help the guy sell it at vintage stores

This is why Albert is in a league of his own, his passion for the history and details is infectious and informative

Cholos have been going ther forever there the ones who kept that store alive ive gotten stuff from there its pricey but 100% worth it
The original gangster sh*t
@@tripmcneely6519 Fr it really was tho and a big reason the store has been able to keep its doors open cause those where there main customers

its sad to see all these white bisexual males raising up the prices
Mexicans have been styling workwear forever. Been going to Greenspans since the 90s when they created the first black county jackets. 🙏🏼
Yes, but not Mexican companies, the founders are 100% Californian

Greenspan's is about to have a merry Christmas
Father in law, lived down on Tweedy Blvd. a few blocks. Worked there as his first job. Rolling up on 80 yrs soon.
Having lived through the 90s vintage craze, to see something like this around today is mind blowing.

Make diving into greenspans a series on your channel I am begging. This is a gold mine.
Never seen a video about apparel hunting like that - quite enjoyable. Intriguing enough that it requires a sequel, a deep dig 2.
Greenspans is OG gotta respect the hustle
need you to say chicano / mexican my bro, these brands have remained afloat because our communities have supported them for decades

You mean Messicans

My favorite jeans that I thrifted ever and they were only like 13 bucks

This was such a fun video! It truly is like American Pickers but with vintage clothing. Keep up the good work.
these recent uploads have all been incredible, but this is a new peak in content and production, lovely stuff!
Man, I wish we had more stores like Greenspans again.
Almost wanna fly over to California just to go to Greenspans
Amazing video Albert!!
Love the video - I know it’s a pain in the butt to make these but we truly appreciate your work!!!
Absolutely fantastic video Albert, definitely wanting to go to Greenspan’s even more now! Please keep it up!
this is actually such a dope video! haven't seen a good fashion video in a while till now👏👏👏👏

How come they don't have a once a year blow out sale? Just to free up some space, To make room for stockpile vintage.
Incredible video.
Please do another video of what else is in there 😮 this is so so cool
You (and I mean WE) need a show where you road trip the country looking for grails
Yes. The Anthony Bourdain of menswear.
I didn’t think these kind of stores existed anymore, it’s a wonder some big retailers haven’t bought out their stock.
That looks insane! Great video
Great video, making me feel even worse about living in the UK.
Ordered a pair of Ben Davis from here all the way to Ireland. A great store with great service and a hell of a nice staff
What’s pricing like??? Didn’t really touch on any prices of anything !!! Like are the clothes good will pricing or Bloomingdale’s pricing ?
Bless you, Legend, I hope to make the trek someday
incredible vid a part 2 here is necessary
Oh no there about to gentrify one of the last clothing stores left for chicanos😢
Insane work Albert

I have a friend who works for them and he told me they are constantly finding new old stock 😮
That’s amazing but the prices are probably inanely high..
Why am I so worried for the clothes in that attic 😬
The shirt Mr Greenspan on was sick
