I just bought a 01 95 aero. The previous owner was in the process of changing out the core. I believe he also removed the blend doors. I will attempt to finish the job. Thank you for the video.
I found 3 or 4 different brands of heater cores. From your video and the photo of the core you removed, I ordered one without a black plastic end cap or the one with the extra aluminum around the end that goes in first. Order the one that looks like what this guy took out! I plan to add some sort of foam, RTV silicone or insulation on the end tubes of the core I ordered to imitate the insulation on the end of the original core. IF I add any foam strips top and bottom I'll grease it with silicone grease to make installation easier. The "gaskets" are Viton o-rings 22mm OD x 18mm ID. Buy the correct VKM (Viton) o-rings in advance. There is a Saab forum that has a numbered step by step description of this job. Drain plenty of antifreeze before hand to minimize the mess and odor inside your cabin. Have plastic and towels on hand for when you remove the supply tubes. If your air distribution isn't working right, this is the right time to fix it while you're there (driver's side distribution stuff is more difficult to get to, remove the L. seat and make a stool the right height to lay half in half out on.)
06 9-5 2.3T here as well. I'm about to replace mine now due to it leaking I noticed my carpet got antifreeze on it. Oops how do you like your Saab? I love mine laser red color too.

much better than many other brands where the entire cockpit have to get out of the way ...

Very helpful video. I know people personally who are still pulling the entire dash to do this job 😅
