The limestone on these tunnels is why the water is so clear. The limestone is porous which acts like a filter and the water has not been stirred up so all the sediment sank to the bottom as well. She is so funny to have along. Oh and note to Dan, always have an extra pair of waders. 😆

Where you are is part of the original Bristol…..very old and lots of history……wars rebellions and royalty is associated with that area for the past 800 hrs……Matt has a brilliant knowledge of off limit areas….good vid

Loved this. Crank Caverns is supposed to have Monk or priest tunnels (I forgot which I think it's from when Henry the 8th was around) that go through St helens and Rainford. The main entrances whrre everyone goes to are all blocked now but apprently some places still have entrances (or did) and someone once told me a pub in Rainford has/had an entrance. Don't know which one but I'm sure if it was still accessible you will be able to find out.
That was awesome! Who would have thought to carve out tunnels to bring water up from a mountain river or stream, especially the monks. That was definitely innovative on there part. I enjoyed watching that, cool!

Was it one of them impulsive let's go and do it after a few drinks kind of thing lol, did I detect a slighty merry voice in the the new editions voice lol. Anyhow not all explorations have to be epic but this was a good explore with a very eager new participant. Good stuff.
