@@TechMishka unfortunately it was a bad situation, and drivers have become more and more aggressive lately. Hopefully with dashcams road rage could go down.
I’m almost decided on going with the 70mai A510 after doing a lot of research. While the concerns around lithium-ion batteries seem a bit overhyped, there are still some valid issues. The battery will likely need to be replaced after 1-1.5 years, and unfortunately, according to Nextdigitron customer care, you can’t replace it yourself. You’d need to send the device to them, pay a fee, and wait for the replacement. Even if you manage to replace it on your own, I couldn’t find any reliable sources for replacement batteries specifically for the 70mai dashcam. Does anyone know how this works? Are these batteries readily available on the market, and can they be replaced at home? Sending the dashcam to the service center every year sounds like quite a hassle. Any advice would be appreciated!
There are online sellers with replacement batteries and tools with easy installation guides. I've personally replaced the battery on my 6-YO 70mai Pro battery which took less than 5 minutes to do.
I have been using the A510 + 4G module for about 3 months, upgrading from viofo A119. I must say video quality is much of an upgrade over my old dash cam especially night time. What I dont like is that the GPS information is not embedded into the video file like viofo's. I like just overlaying the speed but not gps data. When when need the gps data, can be found in the video file. Emergency recording is a bit annoying for me, as I like my dashcam hidden behind the rear view mirror. And finding the exact buttons to press in an "emergency" is not easy, when the buttons are not really differentiated. by the time I hit the button, I need more than 5 seconds. So i use it as a marker, go into the app and located the exact moment I need. but over all still quite satisfied with the a510
This all sounds awesome (except for the button thing). Do you notice any restrictions about the number of times you can connect per day? I've seen some reports about limitations with previous models
@@TechMishka you mean connect to the car? I did not notice any restrictions, if anything it annoys me non stop in normal setting where closing door was detected as collision. Had to dial down the sensitivity. And the route only uploads when the phone is connected, eventho it has 4G capability which is really odd.
I would say the App is the best thing about this brand of dashcams. I have used iroad and thinkware. Both more expensive and accessing the videos are a joke. Pain in the arse.
can you be more specific? too blurry?, too bright?, too dark?, too wide?, too narrow? what about the video quality don't you like? empty statements w/o information/references to back them up are no good. To support your dislike, include as much information as possible. Let others "hear" what you mean and let them make an informed decision.
1. This uses 2.4GHz WiFi, which is too slow for downloading or streaming videos smoothly. 2. It only supports up to 256 GB of storage, limiting it to less than 10 hours of video recording. 3. The app lacks useful features and frequently freezes or crashes. 4. The ADAS feature is practically useless, and 70mai has implemented it poorly. The alerts are unhelpful in any road condition. 5. Despite multiple reviews claiming better performance than other 4K dashcams, this isn’t the case in reality. 6. Don’t trust the comparison videos-completely misleading. You can’t clearly identify license plates at night.
Excellent video quality for the price. Staying at 1440p instead of 4k allows for much better image processing and the low-light quality shows.
Agreed. Of course the A810 shows that 4K in low light can also be good, but the 510 hits the sweet spot with this pricetag.
A500S Pro Plus Dual is the best cam out there using two on two vehicles for over two years
👍👍
Just in time. I need to put a dashcam ASAP. This is going to be the model.
I hope for the good reasons! ☺️ Indeed - having a dashcam gives a piece of mind

You won't be able to replace it on your own. I have a 4-year old 70mai camera with battery and it still works.

Does this record every journey in full? Or just at a collision?
Everything as long as the engine is turned on

No motion detection. If you need it for parking mode - use the time lapse
Not surprising, the a810 was a top performer video quality wise as well
The Starvis 2 line is awesome! Crazy good video quality at night.

does the app have a function to view your previous trips on a map with gps and speed info?
my a500s got a function to view previous trips on a map with gps and speed info on the app.
Bro , without hardwire do we always need to click start recording when we start driving ?
No, it will still.start automatically
Is the 70mai A510 better than the ddpai Z50 video clarity wise?
The front module maybe a tiny bit
Which is better, this or the Azdome M550?
This has much better software
Is there any heating issue
Not at all
VIOFO ftw
👍
Does it have voice control feature
Not supported as far as I remember

Agreed
👌☝️👍
Thanks for the support
Today, I received a new one, but I don’t like the video quality. It feels like the reviews are paid!
Feel free to share some samples.

Could have been a glitch on the platform.
