As a healthcare provider, you do not legally have to disclose a patient’s immigration status.
Which comes up a few times in this show. In fact, one of the doctors on the latest two seasons is technically undocumented, but her work/DACA keep her going.
@@everlasting9292 Well hospital don't do it, they charge hospital bill in middle of the visit but they want money. My husband went ER for diarrhea for 1 week and they put him hallway bed not private room because he didn't have insurance but charge him around $1,100
@@catrachaV4thats absolutaly awful
So basically they're saying pay us or we let you die.
Yes thank you for saying what I was gonna comment🙏🏻🤷🏻♀️😮💨
This young woman deserves American citizenship period. She is the perfect example of those deserve refuge here. Innocent people who have done nothing wrong.
Very true and new name etc
Most of the people trying to gain citizenship or asylum are completely innocent people just looking for better, safe life, and yet a large percentage of Americans don’t believe they should be here. They don’t realize that we aren’t special. All we are is lucky enough to have been born here. We did nothing to deserve being born in a country like America. But that citizenship makes people think they have the right to judge people who fought to make it to our border. That citizenship that they’ve done nothing to earn or deserve makes them think they have the right to send people back to a country they fought to break free from even if sending them back signs their death warrant. Americans can be truly evil sometimes… especially towards people who actually deserve to be here.
@@bri5155 not just born here but that our families came here
Yet cannot pay as most citizens. So who gets the bed?
So why not allow 20 million in every year and once they are citizens, they can start collecting government benefits. As they are mostly destitute, they surely deserve a home and education?
Heck, why not just raise the income tax rate to 95% and we can pay for all the worlds poor.
She came to the US escaping child trafficking. Now we (the US gov) is giving this young girl back to the traffickers to be Sold ? Absolutely disgusting.
It wasn't the government, it was the hospital itself, if you watched the full clip.
Yay ask immigrants about their problem and reasons for breaking the law
She can go to other parts of Mexico and if the cartels are already in the US with the police being as evil and racist as people say, perhaps she is better off in Mexico.
That's about it but before they give her back ..if they give her back.. they're going to torture her.. to give up her secrets on the drug cartels first..
If as a doctor you are supposed to do no harm then by deporting this girl, that lady has broken that vow. She knows full well her situation, he explained to her. The girl will be sold or at worst likely killed for trying to flee and she allowed that to happen to that poor girl.
That’s harm that do not even know of and a broken vow
For one thing, she isn't a doctor. Even if she was, almost everyone is greatly mistaken about doctors taking the Hippocratic Oath. Actually go read the Hippocratic Oath sometime and you'll realize why it was abandoned a long time ago. Most doctors do make some sort of public promise, but not all. Depends on their medical school really. Primarily they are bound by professional codes of conduct by the accreditation boards.
Well, it's a good thing she isn't a doctor. She was an RN but now she's an administrator.
welp, that was insanely depressing. good morning to you too, mdtv
Tough to be in the medical field. You’re caught in between doing what is morally right and lawfully right. 😢
This clip is kind of depressing and at the same time, eye opening. The Doctor will be bothered for quite some time.
Salute to the people working in Medical Field. ❤
To an extent, a lot of fields struggle with this.
Yay
bastards... no more words, just bastards. A brother sacraficed his life for a sis to save her from their Narco Dad and she gets sent back without even a glimps. This is wrong, and unfair.
Many of the men that do that are cocky and heartless!!!
Yay if some did all of that to save someone if they loved them or they are related to them or just even help them or all 3 put together let the person or people they helped stay in this country
i don’t care if some people would abuse it but if someone (ESPECIALLY A MINOR) says they are in danger in their home country there should be an investigation into it before even considering sending someone back.
I am with you
it's the same with every social safety net. people want to scrap the whole thing because of a tiny fraction who take advantage of it, with no concern to the overwhelming majority being sentenced to death without it. if it were up to me every person who crossed the border by whatever means and even verbally claimed asylum would be allowed to stay in a safe house while their background is checked and a sponsor is located.
@dietotaku But the overwhelming majority of asylum seekers aren’t political refugees. I would argue 90% of those who enter this country illegally are just doing it for better financial opportunity, but they shouldn’t get to cut in front of people who are immigrating the right way.
@@Sniperboy5551 while most move for financial opportunity, its not 90% nor is it the sole reason they came... Things like repressive governments & unsafe conditions are a huge factor as to why people immigrate here, marking over 50% of them. Other reasons like education and better futures for their children are also reasons why people immigrate, a little over 75% of immigrants move here for those reasons. My grandma came to this country on a makeshift raft with 20 other people to escape the brutality of her country where she had to rush to the shore of Florida before the Coast guard caught them. It's easy to think its as simple as money but sadly its just not the case. Especially when our country is far from one of the best when it comes to paying even born American citizens a livable wage. There are plenty of countries with far better economic structures that would happily take in immigrants but the simple fact of the matter is- Our main migrants are Hispanic/Latino, 9/10 times, when people speak poorly of immigrants, they are speaking of these people. Many of our bordering countries that bring in Hispanic/Latino migrants have faced horrible conditions. Cuba as an example was in political crisis for decades, people forced to flee in fear of being executed. I was well into elementary school before things even slightly calmed down in Cuba. Immigration isn't black & white like most things
This happened to my cousin,he was the chief of my hometowns police,he left after many threats to “cooperate” and ensure cargo safe passage through the state line,he refuse and got fired and was told they were after him, knowing the corruption inside the government he tried to get a visa and seek refuge in the US,after he was denied decided his only chance was to cross illegally his group of 15 was abandoned in the desert and he was one of the 3 survivors, after receiving medical attention for extreme dehydration, starvation and sunburned he was sent back and was shot 19 times and killed in the airport parking lot, sometimes I feel guilty for moving into this country and having all this opportunities and path to citizenship when my reason to move here was to study and the legal process was fairly easy but my life was never in danger like his and I still wonder why he was denied refuge, we were told if the hospital had kept him for a bit longer that would’ve give homeland security enough time to review his case and a refugee permit was most likely to be granted,is impossible for the legal process to work for everyone, specially individual cases out of the normal circumstances nd I know the hospital was only doing their job that’s when having a bit of compassion could have save my cousins life but even then sometimes human compassion is not enough but it sure should.
My cousin died because he foresaw what giving safe passage would do to my hometown and it’s people and he refused, since his death my hometown has become a place where deaths are and everyday thing, in less than 2 years I have lost 15 family members and childhood friends,I live in fear of the phone getting news about another death,my parents and sister still live there so I know is only a matter of time to receive my most feared phone call.
Thats so awful I'm so sorry 😞 the system is so unfair
@@rachaelford5525 thank you ❤️ without the intent of contradict you and counting with the perspective of someone who has experience both sides of the system, I believe the system could and needs to improve to the current social conflicts I don’t think the system is unfair but it wasn’t built to what’s happening in other countries and there was no way to anticipate it either but I do hope it adjust soon because things are only getting worse, I think the problem and solution is within the governments of our own countries that had gave in to corruption in the highest levels of authorities it’s their most absolute responsibility to keep citizens safe if they were doing their job people wouldn’t have to risk and lose their lives to begin with and they should start first by taking accountability for their lack of actions and stop blaming other governments pointing out their “inhumane” treatment of migrants when they are the ones who didn’t do a thing to protect them so they didn’t have to leave everything and everyone behind that’s what makes me angry the most but I must say I have to be grateful for being one of the few lucky ones.
@@Izzybagginsthe system is unfair and unjust for many reasons not just the above it’s an unfortunate reality we must start paying attention to before it’s too late
@@Izzybaggins This is infuriating! While I agree that countries like yours should do more to ensure the safety of it’s citizens, that’s unfortunatly not always reality. Which is the reason we have pathways to safety for refugees. Those laws are put in place specifically for people like your cousin. He never should have been denied in the first place! I used to be a proud conservative, but it’s this new bigotted conservative ideology that gets people killed and will continue to get people killed. Your cousin should have been offered asylum. And while he was waiting for his hearing he would be placed in a holding center (which need to be revamped too. It’s not supposed to feel like a freaking prison.), or released to family often with ancle monitor until his hearing. But either way, he should have been here. Safe. I’m sorry that the country you speak so highly of failed you and your cousin. It makes us no better than the people who took over your hometown and began killing people that they decided deserved it. That’s literally what this country did to your cousin, and I am so so sorry. The only thing Americans did differently than you and your relatives is that we were lucky enough to be born here. That’s it. We did nothing to deserve that blessing, and as such, we should be doing what we can to help those that weren’t as lucky. Good luck to you my friend. I’m praying for you and your family, that you all stay safe, happy, and healthy. God Bless.
@@Izzybaggins oh yes I do understand what you're saying. I say unfair because of things needed to be done and how governments haven't sorted things
I like this show. I prefer the characters from House, but i find the overall scenarios in this show more interesting, and a lot of them feel more real.
Love seeing Yaya on this show. Loved her on ANTM and so cool she’s made this for herself. She’s beautiful and talented. Go girl x
Wait which character is yaya?
April, the nurse!
@@jemmmmyeah oh shoot! How come I never knew this?!
Dr rodes is right, the law isn’t always right .
He is correct anyone who thinks that the laws on immigration, homeland, ICE are old fashioned and need be changed is in the right anyone who thinks not are in the wrong
I love Chicago Med who's been watching Chicago Med for a long time
Me!

Great video. I love watching the clips and then going back and watching the episodes. Thank you for sharing. I started watching New Amsterdam because of watching these clips.
At what platform do you watch all episodes? I really start to binging this clips 😅
Where can I watch it
I live in Australia not the US but here in Australia I'm pretty sure that we have immigration laws that allow refugees to enter Australia on compassionate grounds particularly if returning to the country that they originated from is likely to put them in danger
we're supposed to have those laws too but too many racists casting ballots means most are turned away.
@@dietotaku that's horrible not good at all
This makes me so mad. What if she dies on the way?? Of course the government doesn't care. She is a child, we are so worried about other people in other countries but as soon as those same people come here for help they are criminals.
Yes to them if you do not have paper work if you are not a citizen you are a criminal
Ah yes, the best way to take a core temp is with a forehead reading.
Dr. Choi is my favourite 🎉🎉🎉🎉😂😂😂❤❤❤❤😅😅😅😅😅😊😊😊😊😊
An error is 29°C is 84.2 right now there should be 2 fatalities.
The information on the episode is incorrect, it is s1 ep 6 but the episode name is Bound
This is so sad 😞 ❤
29• Celsius? That’s EXTREMELY low! 😞
Happens every goddamn day
Man this is so sad
Anyone who tried to get away from problems like that deserve to stay here
Hospitals... they either help people or are the reason someone dies, or worse 😔
not american, we are from europe and my mom is a nurse. she has seen way too many incidents of immigrants jumping on a train to catch a ride, then jumping off so they don't get caught.... let's just say, you never want to hear the phrase "if you lost one limb, you are very lucky"😬😬😬 like she was telling me a story of a guy who became quadrapeligic. and she said, word for word "you would be surprised how common this is"
Dr. Roads, was planning to tell Maria about her brother
Two people hid in the WHEEL WELL of a plane flying all the way from Mexico to Chicago and were both somehow still alive at landing. Yeah, ok, thats realistic........
The number of people in impossible situations in an attempt to get over the border is a lot larger than you think. The issue isn't that it's not realistic, it's that dangerous and unimaginable scenarios happen very often but the vast majority of these people die. While I'll give you that the plane set up is VERY hard to believe, I've heard some terrible stories from survivors fleeing from the other side.
It’s so funny when they just use words that no even surgeons know it
The ER team that specializes in these situations would know what’s going on
Why do all actors get a thick mexican accent when they say an hispanic name? 'Her name is (becomes Pedro Pascal) Maria Gonzalez'
The law is not a moral compass.
Yo if i worked there id probably quit if something like this happened.
Is this real
😢
my question is: how the heck do you fall off a plane during touchdown? Was he sitting on the wings?
❤
What else happened in this episode? Is the girl sent back?
She exploded, 90s' style.
@@shymickey6what? Explanation?
@@Miss_Merry_Mac I'm kidding. 😐BUT! if you're wondering what I mean by "'90s' style" I'm referring to the time when action movies were dominating in the 90s. A lot of explosions.
That has nothing to do with what happened in this episode, but it definitely made me laugh lol.
@@shymickey6 okay I was totally confused lol
That's awful that poor girl
Yes her brother gave up his life to save her and she gets back to the problem he tried to save her from its just completely racist and wrong
Every one : wow this is so great me:what did he say in Spanish 😮
Parts of it were a bit hard to understand due to his accent but it was stuff like where Miguel was and how they’ll do everything they can for him

They really do
They pride themselves on their content and clearly not their titles
nothing funny
NOT FUNNY! You need to learn compassion and empathy for others!
@@honeybee2587 bruh it’s a spelling error joke not a joke about the content chill
so what if their undocumented. TREAT THEM!!!
I agree with the hospital in this scenario.
Please tell me she ends up not getting sent back
What happened to her
What happened anyone know plz?!!!
They get sent back
Just María González her brother Miguel died.
and this is why hospitals and medical care and insurance should not be privatized. you should always be legally obligated to treat a patient back to full health or AT LEAST completely stable condition. the hospital deporting her because she didnt have insurance for further treatment on account of her being undocumented is fucking insane. just send her back in critical condition because they did the bare minimum to keep her from dying immediately, back to a place where they know shes going to be in danger??? because she doesnt have insurance????? fucking ridiculous
Where did it went wrong for Mexico?
Economy sucks so drug cartels took control of most everything
I dont know why parents doing this untill now in real life…it is same like arrange marriage
I know this is just a TV show, but stories like this, and worse, happen every day. A few years ago a man applies for asylum during the dumpster fire that was Trump’s America. He was the Sheriff of a very small safe town deep in Mexico. The cartel came through and wanted to be allowed to start coming through while the government turned a blind eye. This man refused, because as the sheriff he has seen what the cartel’s impact had had on other towns where they were active, and he refused to actively put the people’s lives at risk in his own town. Obviously the cartel didn’t take this well, and his life was I’m very real danger so he came to America where he applied for asylum. Under any other presidency he would have been approved, obviously. That what asylum is there for. When his petition was denied, out of sheer desperation he crossed illegally. Now I know the MAGA crowd will
lose their minds and go into an uproar about the illegal part, but it’s pretty easy to judge when your life isn’t at risk, and your not just risking your own life, but your also risking your friends and family being tortured and killed if you go back. He crossed with a group during the hottest part of summer, and only a couple people in his group survived the crossing and he arrived in America very very I’ll due to severe dehydration and heat poisoning. After just few days the U.S. government sent ICE agents to the hospital where they arrested him, transported him to the airport, and despite knowing about his request for asylum and the very real reality that he would likely be murdered if he was sent home all because HE DID THE RIGHT THING and stood up to the cartel, because he had the character qualities we claim to hold in such high esteem, when he got off the plane at the airport closest to his town he was gunned down and shot eight times while still on the tarmac and died. They did it like that to show people what happens if you stand up to the cartel. He has family that live in the U.S. legally. Family that would have taken care of him and provided for him financially. Like the vast majority of people trying to immigrate legally, he wouldn’t have been a burden on us. He would have been a positive impact on this country. But we’re selfish. And we think that we’re special because we were lucky enough to have been born here. We did nothing to deserve our citizenship, and yet so many people in this country think that because we were lucky enough to be born here by the grace of God, we should be allowed to decide other people’s fate. You would think that because we were given the blessing to be Niemeyer in a place like America, whether we deserve that gift or not, we would want to give that gift of safety to others as well. It’s incredibly sad that we let these things happen when we have the power to keep them from happening.
Yes the imagination laws homeland and ice have to change
@izzybaggins told the exact same story about their cousin, so either izzy's cousin is famous or y'all both saw the same story on the news and izzy tried to claim a personal connection 🤔
Wet foot dry foot. As soon as she stepped foot on American soil, she was granted amnesty. They legally cannot repatriate her without just cause and a lack of insurance ain’t it
