Minx is getting some recognition, but just a bit late. I liked Minx, but I'm glad they didn't stay Minx. They worked so hard in terrible conditions to make Minx succeed and it seems a waste, but it really wasn't. When they debuted as Dreamcatcher they were already at a high ability level because of Minx.
I’m convinced that Handong has a secret plan to redebut Minx with her and Gahyeon as members. The Weekly Idol synchronized dance to Love Shake was only phase 1 of her mission.
Handong and Gahyeon didn't go through the Minx era so they don't have the scars. They see Minx for what it was, an average cute 2015 girl group with a few catchy pop songs. There's lots of video of Minx performing for those who are interested, and seeing the awful places they performed, in front of uninterested people, is heart breaking. Racetracks, sports fields, shopping malls, small cheap music halls, public spaces by the Han river. They had 4 or 5 songs and that was their show. Happyface had no money to promote them properly so they were doomed. Their company had to give up it's independence to raise the money for the Dreamcatcher debut. In 2016 Happyface became a subsidiary of Imagine Asia, a very large multimedia company. Happyface CEO had such faith in these girls that he put his company on the line so that they could follow their dream. That is unheard of in the Kpop industry.
That was crazy! So both side; DreamCatcher and Happyface does have their own path of sacrifices back then to reach this level of success...such a bold move to begin with, by giving up own company independence just to redebut the girls & totally against the norm of K-pop industry by combining dark concept with unpopular genre in kpop industry back then...an inspiring movie about DreamCatcher's journey should be made, come on Korean film maker...you can do it...
REMEMBER: Sua & Jiu requested this performance. And Dami was the one caught playing Minx songs in the dressing room back in January! Siyeon is probably only one cringing, but even she posted video of herself singing Minx songs .
I was so happy to see a 7-member rendition of “Love Shake” that I almost cried! I thought that I would never see the day where Dami and Siyeon would agree to it. InSomnia are eating well during this comeback! 😁😁😁
I really hope Siyeon can totally come to terms someday with the part of her life that she spent as Minx. That was an extremely difficult time for her, but she overcame it, so I'd hate to see her always recall that depression whenever Minx's songs come up. Her struggle from that time is part of what forged her into the artist we all know and love today, and she should know that we all just want her to be happy and have no regrets.
That's fair, but I kind of have to defend Siyeon on this one because to my perspective, she is completely and entirely correct about the music. If they had been more successful as Minx and kept it up, I would almost certainly never have stanned, and that would have been a terrible loss for me. I would hate for a musical style that I don't like to prevent me from appreciating the members - and I know there are numerous idols out there who I'm already not appreciating properly because their companies make songs I don't like for them. I would never want Dreamcatcher to be like that. So while the fandom generally seems to be on the side of "Minx good, Deukae referencing Minx is good", I can't agree. I'm with Siyeon on this one 100%. Because it's a window into much worse world.

Seeing OT7 Love Shake made me so happy. Love Shake is a great song but I just love seeing the members as cute rookies who are full of passion and talent. One thing I wish DC knew is that their fans never left them from that time. I went back to watch Minx content(their busking was so good!) and always see so many fan messages talking about how Minx is going to re-debut soon with a new concept and how excited they are. 🥰 Insomnia are the connection between Minx's dreams and Dreamcatcher's reality.

Some fans keep on saying that dc hated or they were traumatized by minx era but I never heard them say any of that. Thank you for putting to rest the rumors that the members were suffering some form of PTSD because of Minx. I mean, the whole thing was blown way out of proportion. The way some people were, and still are talking you'd think some members would burst into tears at the mere mention of the word Minx. This and the previous Dreamcatcher x Minx video shows that they were pretty much over the trauma since at least Fly High era, possibly sooner. Yes, there was a rough patch between Minx's disbandment and DC's debut. Yes, Siyeon really did not like the Minx concept. And yes, some of the members would cringe every time Minx was mentioned (I think that was more out of embarrassment than anything else). But since very early in DC's career they've been able to laugh and joke about Minx. I mean, almost from the start Handong and Gahyeon would poke fun at Minx and you know that they wouldn't do that if they knew it would hurt the other members. So, now, can we stop over dramatizing the effect Minx has on Dreamcatcher?
Can I just highlight the effect of First Win, from something that they don't actively talk about but only snippets here and there, to dancing love shake on shows. I think it help relieved a huge part in them, I cant pretend to understand what they must have felt but it definitely did something. Before the first win, I remember some were dispirited fans and said in reddit that First Win don't matter as much as it does, success doesn't come from First win or the girls don't really want it. While I understand they feel demotivated but yea, our lovely girls needed that and Thank you all Insomnia for your hard work! Hope we can expect more throwbacks like this. DC doing Minx sunbaenim's Love Shake on Weekly Idol made my day/week/month/year! My love JiU looked so happy dancing to it! I am glad that they are at a point in their life and career where they can look back at those days and not be embarrassed, ashamed or feel the weight of that failure.
In my time here, I've learned that people can be very opinionated in a protective way in regards to Minx. Taking the time to understand myself what the original 5 went through at the beginning helped me to understand the defense that InSomnia have in regards to Minx. I am happy to see that they seem to have healed from this past and are ready to share it with us. I hope that's the case, at least. I hope they're not being pressured to do something they don't want to for the sake of $$$. The safety and happiness of the members should come first, always. If they decide to revert and wish not to have this past brought up, I hope that we can all respect their wishes. At this time, though, it seems as if they are ready to move on and look back at that time as a source of learning and humor. If they are happy with it, I am happy with them.

I really hope they will perform a full metal remix of a minx song at their concert, I know its very unlikely but I think all insomnia (and maybe some vitaminx) would love it! (to be clear they should off course only do it when all of them want to and are comfortable doing so) I think however that now the chance is bigger than ever since they have more and more accepted this part of their past after their first win. And I'm so happy for them that they can (some what) leave it behind now!

Some fans keep on saying that dc hated or they were traumatized by minx era but I never heard them say any of that. I think dami and others just found love shake cringe because of the cutesy styling and lyrics but hated or traumatized by minx as a whole? I don't think so. Siyeon just felt sad because of the failure. As far as I remember, they loved performing wdyctmh and action. There's even a minx ballad that some of them still sing in their lives from time to time. Been following them since they were minx.

Thank you for putting to rest the rumors that the members were suffering some form of PTSD because of Minx. I mean, the whole thing was blown way out of proportion. The way some people were, and still are talking you'd think some members would burst into tears at the mere mention of the word Minx.
This and the previous Dreamcatcher x Minx video shows that they were pretty much over the trauma since at least Fly High era, possibly sooner. Yes, there was a rough patch between Minx's disbandment and DC's debut. Yes, Siyeon really did not like the Minx concept. And yes, some of the members would cringe every time Minx was mentioned (I think that was more out of embarrassment than anything else). But since very early in DC's career they've been able to laugh and joke about Minx. I mean, almost from the start Handong and Gahyeon would poke fun at Minx and you know that they wouldn't do that if they knew it would hurt the other members.
So, now, can we stop over dramatizing the effect Minx has on Dreamcatcher?
I feel it was Siyeon and Dami's cringeworthy and traumatic moment during Minx era. Look how far they have evolved.

Can I just highlight the effect of First Win, from something that they don't actively talk about but only snippets here and there, to dancing love shake on shows. I think it help relieved a huge part in them, I cant pretend to understand what they must have felt but it definitely did something. Before the first win, I remember some were dispirited fans and said in reddit that First Win don't matter as much as it does, success doesn't come from First win or the girls don't really want it. While I understand they feel demotivated but yea, our lovely girls needed that and Thank you all Insomnia for your hard work! Hope we can expect more throwbacks like this. In my time here, I've learned that people can be very opinionated in a protective way in regards to Minx. Taking the time to understand myself what the original 5 went through at the beginning helped me to understand the defense that InSomnia have in regards to Minx. I am happy to see that they seem to have healed from this past and are ready to share it with us. I hope that's the case, at least. I hope they're not being pressured to do something they don't want to for the sake of $$$. The safety and happiness of the members should come first, always. If they decide to revert and wish not to have this past brought up, I hope that we can all respect their wishes. At this time, though, it seems as if they are ready to move on and look back at that time as a source of learning and humor. If they are happy with it, I am happy with them.

Am I one of the few InSomnia that stan Minx lol, Yes I used to stan Minx due to Siyeon high-note they actually reminded me of GGeneration earlier days(I think at that time GG we doing more teen bop like it was a bit different from there Oh! and Gee gee days) I was at middle school at the time if I'm not mistaken,when Dreamcathcher comes out I actually didn't know it was them 😂 I stan them as a whole new group cause my music taste at the time was just what they were producing j-rock was my jam also PuffyAmiYumi introduce me to a lot of Japanese style of music and artists
