Awesome! The best live DnD show ever. Complete professionals. No swearing, great storytelling, action packed, creative and disciplined use of rules, great use of maps, great roleplaying... and oh yes, the surprises that are definitely worth waiting for.
I love Jill, I just love her. That subtle "wow Wilhem, how did you even think to look for a secret passage there!?" is such *genius* roleplaying. And foreshadowing of what we "don't know" about him. You little secret ___ boy, you. btw: I almost yelled THE HAMMER!! use the hammer to fix Elias Drexel!!
Excellent episode. The reveal at the end was foreshadowed and yet so unexpected! Perfect example of how a player and a Dm cooperate on backstory, secrets, and lifting the veil perfectly.
I didn't know if I would ever love these characters to the same extent as Sebastian, Veo and Pluto, but tonight I found out that I do! I've been around since you guys were inspecting potions for a living and I've got to say this show has only ever gotten better. Much love and good luck Wardens! (You're gonna need it in that pit...)
I could not contain myself after this amazing episode !! This is the results of working with the DM and doing world building and story telling, all at the same time !! The way it was presented made me squeal like a fanboy !! I was so excited !! I love this campaign and everyone involved !! Bravo !!!
I got chills when the 1st season Drakkenheim music played. Actual chills when it's 20 degrees outside! This was a fantastic episode in a fantastic series. I can't wait for next week!
His story is excellent, but his telling is meh in the delivery. It comes across forcing too much melodrama and tension, to where the forcing is noticable. He would do better using normal conversation.

Campaign three, Jill's character: I am the avatar of the Sacred Fire and I am here to cleanse this land!
Damn....that reveal at the end was as good of character moment as anything I’ve seen in shows/movies/games in years. The Drakkenheim music playing in the background was a perfect touch too, chills lol. My reaction watching was the same as Jill and Joe. Just storytelling at its finest. Thank you all for another great episode!
*Minor spoiler* That look on Monty's face when Rudi casts arcane lock... Priceless I would love to see a '10 throw away spells that ruin your DM's day' video.
When I ever play a class that gets Arcane lock I'm 100% taking it just for the one moment in the campaign that it'll become the best spell in the game lol
ok this is by far my favorite episode so far. i was terrified by the vampyre lair, impressed by the use of arcane lock, laughing at big rudy and the escape, shocked by the reveal. everyone seemed to be in rare form as well. was super entertaining
I really like the motivation Monty puts behind each of the faction leaders! Really helps each of them Feel believable, and that each group "knows" that they're "right" about what to do with Delerium :-o
This is the first ever campaign I’ve watched/listen to and I can’t get enough! Just caught up completely yesterday! Definitely want to run my own Drakken campaign
I should have elaborated, the first season is called Dungeons of Drakkenheim and they play three different characters. The kickstarter adventure they are about to release is called Dungeons of Drakkenheim as well.
@@DazraelArianos Yes there are both "grand arch "plot links ( as we witness in this episode) and cameos occuring in the Background. In that same episode we have another background charachter "Black-Jack Mel" Ironically the playthrough of the haitus series, where they played incidental charachters, coupled with the two main series, reminds me of James Joyce Ulysses. Different charachters cross paths without interacting. for example on his way to a funeral Bloom passes Dedalus in his carriage. Episode 9, Scylla and CharybdisBloom enters the National Library to look up an old copy of the ad he has been trying to place. He passes in between Stephen and Mulligan as they exit the library at the end of the episode. Also there follows a chapter of incidentasl charachters Episode 10, Wandering Rocks nineteen short vignettes depict the movements of various characters, major and minor, through the streets of Dublin. The cavalcade of the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, William Ward, Earl of Dudley, through the streets, which is encountered by several characters from the novel. This is how the TV series "Lost" got compared with Ulysses having the same event replayed from different perspectives We witness similar crossing currents in Drakenheim.
Even though I knew Wilhelms real identity after watching the campaign so far behind. I wasn't expected the emotional impact of the ending, I teared up due to all the emotions of how strong it was. Damn excellent work Kelly and Monty with the RP. I love your campaign and how your character are tied in to the world. Great job Kyle, Joe and Jill as well. All of you are awesome!
first of all Monty you are a GREAT I repeat GREAT DM, not only you do world shaping with details BUT when it comes to describe battles, and effects of magic in an environment you took EPICNESS to a whole new level. This story is like an old good book that I want to read again and again
Woah! What a revelation, I didn't see that coming! Great storytelling and an amazing dialogue from Monty and especially Kelly at the end! I had goosebumps.
Elias Drexel has the most consistently inconsistent loyalty -- betrayed original von Kessels in the Civil War, now swearing allegiance to a von kessel he thought HE KILLED over the one he just helped ascend the thrown -- take the blood Wilhelm
Agreed, or at least let him live but strip him of any positions of power and brand him a traitor publicly, forcing him to live out his days in shame, likely in prison
@@Sp4rt4nSl4ya Could go the Dishonored route and brand him. Literally, where everyone can see it, so they know not to house, feed or provide any amount of kindness too, given his legacy, actions and behaviour. The only good thing to come from him is his kids, who are doing damage control. Apologies for the Necro.
because Netflix adaptations generally have the reputation of what happens after you eat Taco Bell and Chipotle in one sitting. Also because it's Netflix.
Watched this again... It was so fun! The big reveal was just berries. How did you keep this a secret this long? From the well-placed clues and hints to the facial expressions, it was all magical. How can we wait another week? Keep going, Dusk Wardens. 1 more chapter to revisit before the break.
Holy shit - what a reveal. When you can even knock your felllow players out of their seats you have done an amazing backstorry. I´m a little bit late for this but i applaude you, Kelly. Well done sir!
So excited for thee Iron Banshee. I’ve been toying around with a character concept for Drakkenheim and my current idea is an aberrant mind sorcerer who gained his powers after being abducted and experimented in( delirium implanted into his body) by and ex academy wizard hiding out in the ruins. Wasn’t sure if Oscar or the Pale man would fit but the Iron Banshee sounds perfect 🤯
Could even just hear echos from the crystal shards embedded into the characters head. Perhaps too close to the impact? Haunting whispers drive them to a goal of some sort. Just another idea for you. If you were open for brainstorming.
For some reason, Monty saying „yeeting“ got me so amused I had to pause sorting my laundry for a second. Already so excited for what this episode will bring
Ho-ly sneak attack. What an episode, what a plot twist, what a character- and world building. I literally watched the last 15 minutes like five times again and again and I´ve had chills every. damn. single. time. Great stuff DDudes and cast, just flatout amazing acting. The build-up to this, the emotions involved and the pay-off following. Geez. Looking forwards as the story continues. :D
Props to the players for the way they play their characters. One player in particular had me confused a number of episodes ago with how above themselves they acted. It seemed so out of place for the company they were in. It all paid off in this episode. Great job!
Oh, my Kelly!!! Such a great ending, nobody had no clue!!! I was only listening at first, but when I heard IT, I knew I need to watch the ending to see Jill's and Joe's reactions, and it was great too. Jill was listening and started adding 1 to 1 and realized everything just before it was told. And in contrast, Joe was just listening casually and it just hit him. At least it's how I read it from yours faces. Totally awesome ending!
One of my favorite Monty DM things is when the battle is pretty much over. He hand-waves the rest of the fight/escape and moves on instead of dragging it on through the drudge of killing obvious weak/overwhelmed enemies.keeps the story moving instead of stagnating.
For a while I was terrified that this was the last episode before the break. So glad you're not leaving us on that cliffhanger (though is some ways it would have been the perfect place too).
Rudi becomes MARY FREAKIN POPPINS! I'm done. This brought a fit of laugh tears I was delighted with today. THANK YOU for yet another absolute fabulous session!
When Kelly went all crazy as the name Elias Drexel was introduced a few weeks ago. I thought it was an aggregious metagamery from the events of Dungeons of Drackenheim...huh? Who saw that coming???
Dudes, if you're looking for guest suggestions for a possible untold tales, I'd like to recommend Cobly from D&D Deep Dive. His characters concepts are absolutely bananas!
Absolutely incredible. I supported the Kickstarter a week ago, but after this I had no choice but to start supporting you on Patreon (first time supporting anyone)! That reveal blows the Jon Snow/Targaryen reveal out of the water. Great storytelling guys!
Wilhelm VonKessel. I knew Elias Drexel was the one who took his eye but I didn't expect that! I'm anticipating the threat of a new civil war however...I don't see Wilhelm trying to take the throne, but if George learns about this...I feel like the Caspian answer would be to kill Wilhelm, and I suspect this next segment may end up with Wilhelm leading the Silverfangs and gaining a small army to expand the Dusk Wardens into a real defensive force against Delerium, which is desperately needed.

Man, no spoilers for the reveal at the end, but all I’ll say is “wow.” Bravo!
I was floored by that cliff hanger. I'm left not even knowing what to say! So exciting
Like yooooo holy crap! Brain explosion!
Yeah very much holy crap! I want to like you're comment, but, 69.
This is the advantage of watching it after the fact, I can just start the next episode. I'm loving this series, very glad I found it
Holy moly, my jaw hit the floor when I heard Wilhelm's speech! Goosebumps
Favorite dialogue.
"I thought you were a ghost."
"Been seeing many of those, Elias?"
"Not like you. Not like this."
That was goosebump territory. 😲

I love how much Jill enjoys playing when she's huge, truly infectious joy.

I rarely get goosebumps from watching people play d&d. But man, that climax. Holy shit. Kudos.
Absolutely love the players’ reactions at the end, especially the control for keeping quiet or acting the way through the twist. Bravo
By the way, props to Monty for that dead-perfect fade-in of the Drakkenheim theme right at the end of the session
Master class in improv tactics AND roleplay from Jill. Hats off to all of the team. This is the best D & D show out there.

Idk why Netflix hasn't bought this plot to produce a live action series
