Honestly I kinda liked the figure, I mean yeah sure he didn't come with a Krusty Krab hat(which I'm confused why they gave Squidward and Patrick one if they didn't give Spongebob his but maybe they might make accessory packs) and the spatula and some other things, but other than and a few more complaints(like Bubble buddy, and the pointing fingures) I would honestly say that this is a pretty good figure.
I’m glad you enjoy it! It’s just but off for me and I hate the text on his back. Yikes. Has Super7 done an accessory set before?

This looks rough :( The figure itself is whatever but the accessories are a real let down. Bubble Buddy should be taller and done in a semi-transparent purply plastic, he shouldn't be clear. Also not having his fry cook hat is odd. For some reason Patrick comes with a detachable fry cook hat so idk if they just expect you to buy both so you can actually have a complete Spongebob.
Oh that’s interesting. I didn’t look too deep into what Patrick comes with, but the hate is far less iconic on him than SpongeBob.
Here's an idea for those pointing hands: you can have SpongeBob recreate the *_Spider-Man 3_* Bully Maguire dance. 😎🤙🏻

Man, I originally pre-ordered this but cancelled it about two months back. I feel like I dodged a bullet there haha. Can't believe it took them almost 2 years to produce such a mediocre figure. Also, as a side-note his socks are off-model. Oddly enough, they were correct in the prototype renders but they must've changed them last second before manufacturing them (stripes go blue then red, not red then blue).
Changing something after the render is also very Super7. It’s such a bummer
I do love that the packaging for these makes it easy to take the toys out and put the toys back in very easily

These figures are cooler looking in the box! I love opening my figures , but for the price, they should stay in the package!

Only main reason I leave these in the box is that they are expensive, and I don't want to scuff it up!

Maybe I’m crazy, but I think it looks perfectly fine without the outlines. Also, how much can you really do with articulated legs on a SpongeBob figure? He really doesn’t have a good shape for balancing in different poses. I guess maybe if he had a special kind of stand with a crane like Figmas and Nendoroids do.
That’s a good solution for a stand. I also later noticed they didn’t put the red color on his cheeks even though that’s how they designed him in the renders. I think that is another factor for him just looking a bit off.
Do you know if they will send a replacement accessory because i ordered one of these and they forgot to send a hand with a bubble wand
I would definitely send an email using their website. Likely get a reply from "Rudy" which I think is just one name for all of their people, but maybe not.

Alright, I agree: the lack of black lines really detract from the figure and I never really thought about it until you pointed out. Maybe taking a Gundam marker and do the outlines yourself would be a viable option? That being said, I low-key still kinda like it... For $55, it's painful but...

Was really excited for this line, so seeing how much Super7 goofed up is saddening. I’ll still pick the line up, but I highly doubt I will do so at full price. Hopefully we can get a version 2 of this figures in a few years. Great review.
If we can do some black outlines ourselves it would help a ton. But you’re right, not worth the full retail and we obviously shouldn’t have to mod them

I bought the Sandy Ceeks just so we could play SpongeBob together.
So, this is centered towards little kids. They really just want to play with it.
Great for kids, but $55 isn’t a kid’s toy. They are crazy

The figure isn't perfect, but my kids happy. That's what counts to me.
Plus, since retail stores don't carry much stock, online sellers take advantage of us.
Hi, I enjoyed watching your review for this statue! I am a huge SpongeBob fan, and while I was disappointed this wasn't the best it could be I'm still happy to own it. Could you by change tell me where you got that standee, I'd love to be able to have on for this statue?
If it’s the large black stand I often use then that is a Play Arts Kai stand. You can often find it listed though they normally come with figures

I love how he's trying to sound fair but it's so obvious he hates the whole figure as a SpongeBob collector I can say it's so hard to find adult collectible figures for SpongeBob so the fact that Super 7 made a set of action figures with accessories and the most articulation that we've ever had for SpongeBob figures the entire figure line already gets a 10-10 in my book even if they are a little bit overpriced.
Sounds like you’re forcing yourself to like it because there isn’t another option.

I've bought my kids quite a few sponge bob toys over the past decade and this selection at least has a good texture and playability for kids.
As for collectors who want perfect I suggest you beg Hot Toys to make a Sponge Bob line and spend $300 for a sealed, taped, black outlined figure😊
He seems very similar to Animaniac’s Brain. Top heavy and oddly chosen joints that barely hold the figure upright.
Definitely! I didn’t get to experience that line, but they weren’t even appealing to me in other reviews. I can’t imagine how I would have reviewed them. Like the Ren and Stimpy I did.
Where did you buy it? Someone might have opened it before you and did not put the bag back.

This figure just dosnt feel well thought out... like a first draft. So many missed opertunitys for accessories that were more iconic and construction/ articulation that is bizarre and borderline usless. A real shame because SpongeBob is so iconic and there won't be another collector based SpongeBob line for quite some time

There’s accessories and then there’s TOO many accessories. Would hav been nicer to have a face plate to switch out rather than an entirely separate body. More stuff to store🤦🏻♂️

I feel like these wave 1 figures of spongebob are way better than the ren and stimpy figures, It seems bias but the spongebob figure has some pretty OKAY accessories but the gary figure is amazing and scales quite nice with spongebob. With ren it's just some hats and heads and some arms. For stimpy it's a lot more stuff but seems like a very in the middle figure outside of the loads more of accessories from comparing it to ren. The spongebob figure is missing some things like you listed. The glasses are nice though, and although he dosen't have that much articulation it seems like a good purchase at about 30-35$ other than 55. (and for a good use for the bubble buddy is to have him by the spongebob nendroid it scaled pretty good!)

I was thinking about getting it for my fiancée since she likes SpongeBob but I don’t know.
The trend of Super7 figures being mediocre is a bummer because they could be so good.
Coincidentally though I did get my Super7 Poochie today. Not a bad figure but the leg articulation is kind of weird.
The Simpsons line seems pretty solid so far with only minor issues. They still need black outlines.
If you’re gifting SpongeBob then it’s probably worth it

SpongeBob SquarePants is an epic fail for S7. Since the title character is this disappointing. Don't expect better with this line. S7 doesn't always hit. But this is by far the worst figure S7 has done. The fact that S7 didn't put accessories they should've. Makes this very disappointing for fans. Even though Moe didn't come with his apron at least he looked like S7 cared and he is with the $55.00.

I just cancelled my whole order of Power Rangers Ultimates after all the disappointments from the past year or two from Super7. Between the quality and the fact that Amazon (and soon Best Buy) will carry them for probably less than I pay wholesale, it's just not worth it. Don't even get me started on Transformers Ultimates!
Yeah, it’s insane. They say the prices are high because they are a small company with not many outlets to sell. But now they are selling in more places, with less quality, and high prices. Dumb
