Great use of camera angles, close ups, detailed descriptions. You are both a great instructor and videographer. A perfect example of step-by-step guide without the endless self-promoting monologues. Great job.
I am in the process of swapping out my 2004 Camrys grey interior for the black interior aswell! Was excited to see someone else who was/had done the same thing. I already have installed new red/black seats and black door cards and the dash will be next. I’m saddened that the underside cannot be replaced separately as that is the only piece needing to be blacked out. I’m hoping the 04 Aus model is relatively similar so I can follow your video. Great video btw (I know I’m a bit late lmao)
It so amazing how helpful this video to my journey of being a technician I'm a graduating student of a automotive course , hope to upload more video that can improve my skills as an beginner technician
This Video is pretty Epic. This is the best swap you can do on an 02-06 camry especially with the SE Leather. I thought this job would be a nightmare but this has to be one of the easiest dashboards to swap out.
Agreed! I love the black leather compared to the old boring gray cloth! This dashboard was pretty easy. The 01 Corolla dash I took out before had a wiring harness clipped to the back of it and that was hell to loosen up. Im jealous of your wood steering wheel now 😏
@@speedkar99 It's been 4 months since I commented. I can't believe I just now finally did this repair today and I forgot I even commented here. Using this video I did this job easily. Only major problem is not all 02-06 camry have the same dashboard. The one I bought is like the one in this video and had the wrong airbag. Wires are completely different and mounting brackets are single bolt instead of 2. My car is 2003. Not sure if it's different 04 05 06 or Japan built/USA built.
1:26 this is the only TH-cam content creator to cover access to the dash speakers for 5th Gen Camrys. NO ONE tells you to access from below. A Tim Hortons toast to you!
Quick tip: after you remove the negative battery terminal then wait at least 2 hours before removing the airbag because it might be still active. It's not guaranteed that it will deploy if you touch it but better to be safe than sorry
speedkar99 true but they would charge a lot of many because they charge a lot for many used parts that aren’t even in good condition, if you don’t mind me asking how much did you pay for your swap ?
+Car geek 101 I don't think its a lot of work...this interior is generally easy to work with but I learned that Toyota is cutting corners on these newer generation cars...things clicked together better on the previous gen camrys
Hey man great video but, you should know that dash is assembled and installed as a unit, like 6 bolts, the steering and connectors and the whole thing can be removed as one piece
speedkar99 you don’t like the gen 5 Camry. To me that was the last generation of good Camrys from Toyota. Which generation you consider the best or you like.
My God! How much would it cost this job! I wish it was a video on my Toyota Corolla LE 98 1.8L though... I hope it is not this hard! Many thanks for your video. It was so incredibly entertaining!
Thanks for these videos, they're such a help! I used your Lexus ES330 starter video to learn how to replace a starter myself. Clear and to the point! I'm wondering if this is roughly the same procedure for removing the dashboard on an '05 ES330? I'm dealing with the notorious shrinking dash, and hoping to replace it myself after finding a dash at a local scrapyard. Thanks!
You posting these videos makes me keep my Camry since I've used all your videos to update and mantian it but I'll keep my boring biege dash thank you 😅...was going to replace my center console this week too so win win
Glad I can motivate you. I was going through old photos of my interior the other day and wow...I. Ant believe I bought this car with such a boring gray interior!
Amazing video!Quick question:my kid dropped a coin inside the top air vents on my toyota auris. Should I be worried/ try to remove it? Thank you in advance
You by any chance have the brand name/specs to that touchscreen audio unit? Lol. Oh and on a more serious note, the register for the defrost vent... can that be removed without removing the dashboard? I can’t find a video on that so far.
hi speedkar99, last time i mention to you about my 1998 toyota 4runner have a death wobble, you told me to check the steering rack bushing and the tie rod end. i replace the steering rack bushing, front sway bar bushing and the rear sway bar bushing. i also check the tie rod end rubber(only inspect by looking at it) and everything looked normal but the death wobble is still there. can you please give me recommendatioon what i should do next. thanks for you time.
i brought to another mechanic they said my drum brake is too tight cause damage to rear differential that the reason my truck has a death wobble. do you think that mechanic was right?
All parts were from a junk yard or you bought all parts individually through out the months. Update i found an se at a junkyard online. But questioning myself like is it Worth it lol. Cause the prices skyrocketed but then again there’s not much black interior le models.
Is there a way I could just swap out the top portion ? I have an 04 and I wanna replace it because my dash is baked by the sun and I found a mint 2002 dash
I have 97 Camry. Kill switch and car starter possibly. How do I get the clips near the coin department? My car jus has a pull cubby no bolts. But the fuse box is really accessible. But the kill switch is next to the kick panel

Also I realized that the XLE Camry XV30 in the XLE trim never existed with black interior for the US but in Europe you can find all black fully loaded Camry's (like the XLE) with black interior and wood accents (not silver like the SE).
I just lost my wedding band in my 2016 Corolla. It slid to the front of the dash and fell into the crevice by the windshield, right by where the VIN number is on the drivers side. I don't know anything about cars, I feel lost.
I had to replace the brake switch on my Tundra, and was terrified of taking apart even a small part of the dash. It was four bolts, two screws and slide-in plastic ducting for the A/C. Easy peasy. Thanks again!

Definitely a 2002-2006 based on design, but the trim line is harder to tell. Cloth seats, probably a single DIN radio before the double DIN upgrade, no special buttons for heated seats, standard analog temperature control panel. I would guess an LE, but it's possibly an SE.

About $400 in junkyard parts.
The Corollas dash is hard since the wiring attached to the back of the dash instead of the vehicle it self
