Thank you for explaining the size of the blocks for the star, Yesterday I watched a lady make a scrappy star block and she neglected to give the sizes of the blocks.
Jamie. I’m a scrappy kind a gal. You always give good tip. My favorite quilts are made from 2 1/2 squares. My last one had 2300 squares in it. I’ve been quilting for more than 40 years and I’m always learning something new. Thank you for your great tutorials. Candiquilts.
I love this! LOL I can probably make several king size, but will try for 1 to begin with as a leader/ender quilt for 2025. I better get cutting my backgrounds now.
I have been admiring this quilt since the very first time I watched your video. I am "sew" happy now that I can actually make one. Thank you for sharing the pattern!!!
You are such a good teacher, such an inspiration. I love the quilts you come up with. Your voice is easy to listen to and the tips you give are always great. I have been quilting a long time but always learn so much from you. When you unrolled the blue quilt at the balcony I was amazed. It was so beautiful! I do like the scrappy one also. Thank you so much. Hope you show it with binding and quilting.
I love the 4 patch and the strippy center blocks!! When I first joined my Quilt Guild they asked me if I was a traditional piecer. I think I can answer that question by saying I am a scrap quilter now.
Gorgeous Amazing Quilts and so excited you shared this tutorial you’ve done a great job showing us how! Thank you so much for sharing!! Now off to cut up more of my fabric
Beautiful quilt both planned and scrappy. TY so much for the pattern and tutorial. I have MANY 2.5” squares and love patterns that use them. Love your channel.
I love your little half-square triangle blocks! So many things you can do with them. I love all your quilts and have enjoyed your clear instructions and scrappy style!
Thank you, Jamie, for saving me from sewing those long rows together! Unless I have a long sashing, I this will save me a lot of frustration! I think all of your quilts are fabulous!
Ooh! I so love a star block! This is a great quilt. Thank you for sharing it. I’m thinking of making each star in one color and each star a different color to use up a quilt that I cut and fell out of love with. ❤️
You do such a great tutorial it makes me want to go get busy on my scraps! I like to sew "chunks" of blocks together as you do because it makes fewer long seams! And yes, perfection is overrated.
I like the way you sewed the top together. I may have to try this the next time I have a quilt like this. I love your videos. This is a nice scrap quilt.
What a great pattern for scraps and yardage. I will definitely give it a try. Thanks for sharing how you sew the top together!! That’s brilliant and I have never thought to put my final blocks together in this way. Funny how doing things one way may not always be the best way. Love your channel Jamie ❤
Love it, love it, love it! It is so beautiful in the opening, and I was planning to make a similar quilt, and now I'm tempted to make the scrappy version instead. And I've never made a scrappy quilt. Thank you for the inspiring tutorial.
Loved this scrappy tutorial. You make the best scrap quilts! This is another one I will make. Keep those scrappy tutorials coming! Thank you so much. God Bless the work of your hands.❤
Thanks Jamie. I'm making my June Scrappy quilt with stars made similar to yours, but needed an idea for an alternate block. I think your chain block will be perfect for my quilt. I will be sure to give you credit on my channel for this block idea. ❤
Sometimes I do starch my fabric. If I am able to plan ahead. I do not starch layer cakes or jelly rolls. I think it definitely makes a difference. Thanks for watching and happy sewing 😊
I really love this pattern and am anxious to get at start on it ! I would also like to know about the quilt in the beginning of the tutorial that was draped over maybe a chair to your left.
The flower pots? It’s a batik scrap quilt I’ve been working on too. If that is what you are referring to, I can do a quick tutorial on that block also. Thanks for watching and happy sewing 😊
Sometimes I do a pieced backing. I haven’t decided on a backing for this quilt just yet. I would say if you make a scrap pieced backing, make sure it is really pressed well. If you are sending it to a long armer be aware that they may not be able to center it perfectly. I also sometimes take fat quarters that match the front close enough and maybe I’m not so fond of the fabric and use them for backings. Maybe I can do a video when I piece a backing. Thanks so much for watching. Happy sewing 😊
Yes, I am too. I do not have a written pattern yet. I’m working on some written patterns to put up at my website. Thanks for watching and happy sewing 😊
I have only one pattern that is for sale which is my a Scrap Jars quilt. This is the link to the pattern. buymeacoffee.com/TheQuiltingCompound/e/294535 I have a two free patterns on my website. Pieceful Baskets Quilt Along, Block #2 the Twin Star Basket th-cam.com/video/_PexwlYkmZ4/w-d-xo.html This is a video link to sewing Block #2 on my channel. Thanks again
Thanks! I would like to use this pattern, however my fussy cut center squares are 4 inches instead of 4.5”… do you know what size I need to reduce the squares for the star points? I’m guessing 2.25” instead of 2.5”…?
Hoping you will help me. I saw a tutorial using 2-1/2" squares and 4" x 2-1/2" rectangles to for a quilt...all made from jelly roll. Will you tell me where to find this, please? I was sure it was your channel.
❤ Good video. You forgot to say like and subscribe and make a comment so that you get more TH-cam subscribers. Nice pattern like the way you went through it.
I am searching my notes. I cannot find the exact yardage. 3 1/2 yards is ringing a bell. I hope that helps some. I’ll keep searching. Thanks for watching and happy sewing 😊
You can save this video. go to the ". . ." on the far right and select save. You can create a private list for yourself, and you can create more than one list that might have homogeneous items in them (e. .g "quilts", "exercise", "Excel" ...)
@@notesfromleisa-land Thank you, I swear it was not there before, this happened before to me and once I asked for it it appeared. Call it crazy??? I don't care as long as it can be saved, I need visuals for every step. thank you again.
That is the problem with white but it does make the stars and the chain block pop. If I had small children, I may make it with a different color background but mine are grown. It would probably work well with a black background and batiks for the stars and chain block. Happy sewing and thanks for watching 😊🧵
Thank you for explaining the size of the blocks for the star, Yesterday I watched a lady make a scrappy star block and she neglected to give the sizes of the blocks.
Really nice! I am considering this for my next Quilt of Valor. I think it would be beautiful in red, white, and blue. Thank you!
I think that would look great. Thanks for watching 😊
Jamie. I’m a scrappy kind a gal. You always give good tip. My favorite quilts are made from 2 1/2 squares. My last one had 2300 squares in it. I’ve been quilting for more than 40 years and I’m always learning something new. Thank you for your great tutorials. Candiquilts.

Can you recommend how much background fabric we need
Off the top of my head, it seems like it was 3.5 to 4 yards. Thanks for watching 😊
I like it better scappy.
How much background fabric was used on this quilt?

12.5 unfinished

What about tutorials using yardage, not all of us out here likes precuts or scraps. My scraps go to the trash can.
Challenge accepted, I’ll try to come up with one for yardage. Stay tuned and happy sewing 😊
I just did a yardage quilt. Check it out. Four one yard cuts. 😊
Love this!!
