Halo, Echo & She-Hulk Were DESTROYED By This One Thing

  • Halo Season 2 reviews are close as the series nears release, but the first season of Halo with Pablo Schreiber was controversial at best. This follows on She-Hulk, Echo and The Witcher with Henry Cavill among many others to suffer a similar fate. Yet these shows have something in common, ego. A sense that the people involved are more important than the audience and fans. Does all of Hollywood suffer this same fast as Halo Season 2 will? Is Halo worth watching?

Halo Season 2 reviews near as the series draws close, and an old comment from Pablo showcased a very common attitude in Hollywood. Whether it be directors, writers or actors all of them think they are more important than the source material. Everything they make rather than focus on what the original author intended, with their values, are replaced by the values of the new show creators. Hidden behind a wall of language about how Important it is X is put into the series, it always hides self interest and their own personal taste. It's never done for the audience, always for the creators. You can know all about the writers just by watching what people in the show say, because they often ARE the writers. Ego drives them, self centered, self interested and likely unable to put themselves in another persons shoes. It's the only perspective they can write from, and all they care about. And until Hollywood can change the people involved, I don't see how this can change. The creators need humility to handle other peoples IP's, and we rarely see that from Hollywood actors or creators. But what do you think? Let me know your thoughts down below and as always, thanks for watching :)

I don't normally speak directly to creators but you are an inspiration to many of us, I just hope you're doing okay with the news that She-Hulk might not get renewed for season 2. I thought of you and was thinking we should set up a kickstarter or gofundme so that we can make season 2 happen. Also Velma season 2. Watching you guys utterly destroy these shows was more entertaining than the shows themselves will ever be. Echo getting a few more seasons would be icing on the cake, maybe they can destroy Luke Cage or Iron Fist or some other characters. Go all in on the cringe.

If "She-Hulk" had any more self-insertions, the whole series would have consisted of nothing but a still image, shown onscreen for the duration of each and every episode, of a worn and stained double-pronged dildo. 🤷‍♂️

100% correct. These modern day writers only care about validating their viewpoints and pushing their beliefs, and to hell with the rest of us. The problem is the Twitter mob is always encouraging this, so as long as the dumbasses on social media continue to feed their egos, they have no reason to stop.

Melkor/Morgoth, Feanor, and Sauron all started as highly creative beings, but as evil consumed them, they lost most of their creative ability, which also seems to be the case with much of modern day Hollywood. There are many formerly creative “old timers” who now are so consumed by conforming to DEI and virtue signaling that they no longer can create anything decent (and of course there are the newbies who never were any good to begin with).

MC is the main protagonist, everything revolves around him in a deep way. But what MC believes is that he is an additional soldier just doing his job, as they are bigger things at stake. This is what Hollywood can't understand. By removing the helmet you are undercutting all the war machinery he is in, and the idea that anyone can be behind that helmet.
It's weird that they removed it, even in the fanloved animation Red Vs Blue spartans mostly use helmets and in the fanloved games Halo 1, Halo 2, Halo 3, we never see MC face

    - They already established a way to see the face IN THE HELMET if you are that desperate. Marvel did it with Iron Man when RDA was in the suit.
    - Films and TV series have been able to have actors emote while wearing full prosthetics, makeup and straight up face masks for decades. Mandalorian is actually a good example of this ironically but then even THAT decided to take the helmet off.
    - The added hilarity is how badly Halo S1 abused the helmet situation. MC takes off his helmet in situations where he should keep the damn thing on but puts it on when it is not needed.
    - Watching the Pink Hair Spartan get straight up face planted with no helmet by the OTHER Spartans actually wearing their helmets was pure comedic irony which I think is too complex for the hacks writing this garbage to grasp.

The only rule is you must gush about the work itself, the product people will be experiencing with their eyes and/or ears. If you're gushing about yourself, no matter your position in the production - or what inspired the work (ideology, personal history, taste)... you've completely forgotten what it is your selling, and the product becomes just a vanity project, a vessel for your backstory that means nothing to anyone other than you. But he wouldn't have that. In Echo, they needed to commit to either having this all deaf, or not. Or have her actually kick ass without the leg (which there are many scenes they could've done)......or not. I love that she needs the prosthetic to do anything. All AFTER removing some of her comic abilities! What a shame.

Imo it wouldn’t have been difficult to show her mastering situations despite the missing leg. It’s imo the fact that the fight scenes try to act as if she was a huge dude with two normal legs that ruin the action. Being deaf and missing a leg, they would have had to show her to be cunning and able to adapt fast, not to be a full frontal assault fight as if she was Captain America. But I guess „the message“ was more important than to show actual strong women.

You know since movies and TV are an audio/visual media, if a character is wearing a mask you can interpret their emotions through their tone of voice, the context of the situation, the framing of the filming and the musical cues (extremely important when setting the tone). I swear Hollywood acts like they're work is first to do anything so it's impossible not to do things their way....when there's hundreds and thousands of examples to work from.

I knew halo was bad, but that part near 21:44... He knew about the spartan program as they got told that they were part of a program to create super soldier able to withstand a suit that would rip human in half and fight against the unbelievably strong covenant. Sure, they weren't told they had been kidnapped but they knew most of it. The scientist who made them couldn't stop cackling about her black ops program as she made them. So why did he have to a spartan program search in the show?

So if we have to see a face to understand a character... why can we all understand and connect with say the muppets? Most of them don't have complex facial expressions yet I can understand Kermit just sitting on a shelf far more then any current day actor. What about anime, cartoon or CG characters? A lot of them don't even have faces to emote with. Yet you'll understand most of their emotions mostly from expressive voice acting. So Mr John Halo sit down, put the helmet on and use that little something called body and voice acting.

Rarely do people show up to see an actor, great actors drive people to theater because of the characters that they are able to portray.
Dredd is a great example of understanding The Story and characters, part of the reason why is it great is because Urban understood the character and put that over his ego. Compare that to the awful Stallone movie where so long and sister that people see his face.
That's why Dredd is great, keeping up the character first

*an* historic series. You'd expect professional writers to know basic grammar at least.
Also, any professional actor should be able to voice act sufficiently to perform without their face visible.
Also also, lol at saying toxic fans won't tolerate a deaf / disabled superhero fighting because they're bigoted, when their largest complaint is in the context of them fighting a famously blind and recently successful superhero who everyone loved. It's about quality not identity.
I suspect I'll edit this again soon...

Master Chief was always good with the Mask on. Even tho he barely had any development in the first two without those two Games Halo 3 wouldn't have been as impactful as it was. The same could be said about Halo 4. Without the 3 Previous Games the Emotional center point would have been laughed at. Said that Master Chief was always without emotion that him showing emotion in the 4th isn't a good thing. When in fact him showing emotion just makes him human. The First two games could just be written off as him focusing on the Mission. Not having anything to direct his attention too much or draw his emotions out. But because of Cortana we see his emotions. We see him not wanting to let her go. Like a child would with their parent who is dying or a Loved one who is dying. You don't want them to just leave you. But you can't do anything to stop it. Because their Death was already planned. Yes Halo 4 had issues. Could have explained things a little better and could been a bit longer. Could have always made the Promethean's better Antagonist's. But what Halo 4 did was already Perfect in it's own. Could have been better. But was great in it's right
