this was a great idea. The only adjustment I made personally was using wing nuts for everything. Makes it way easier to keep things tight or adjust.

Good idea with using all wing nuts!

Just want to add, the thread pitch for the eye bolt that goes to the camera is, 1/4" x 20. I know there is at least one other thread pitch for 1/4 inch bolts. Just want to cut down on confusion.

      Good point, thanks!

All cameras use 1/4-20 threads, in the 'National Coarse' series. The 'other' thread is 1/4-28 which is 'fine' thread. (The 20 and 28 are # of threads per inch respectively.)

+tom thilges no problem, I thought it was a slick little project. Sounds like repairing sheds could be an interesting project as well! Good luck 👍

I used a 3/8” thumb bolt and a 3/8 Wing nut with rubber washers on each side compresses an stays tight without wrenches

Any updates on what you think of it after using it?

Great question, still works well! I haven’t had any issues with them yet.

That was neat, might have to try that.Have you checked the footage over at the den? Also, I'm looking forward to your fishing videos, I posted a fishing video on my channel. Unfortunately, it looks like shed hunting is over for the year due to all the greens growing in the woods.

+Jake Deal I'm actually planning to check the trail cam on the den this weekend, hopefully something is on there. Heck yeah, I'll check your fishing video out! I can't wait to get out fishing. And you're right about shed hunting, got thick here the last couple days. Thanks for the comment buddy 👍

I have a place where I want to try this. But to make it a little more resistant to thieves and bears, I'll bring along a short sledge hammer to pound the post deep enough that it'll be hard to pull out by hand, and I'll drill a hole through the post to attach a python cable lock to the camera. I almost always use security boxes with my cameras too, as bears are a real issue - I'd have lost several cameras to them without the box and the python.

    Just curious about thieves

+Willy T valid point for sure. It definitely makes the camera stand out more than if it's attached to a tree. I thought about painting up the fence post and hardware with some flat camo paint but haven't done that yet. Otherwise a couple fake Christmas tree branches or something like that might help too? Good thought though.

Some are in jail, some not. They come in all shapes, ages, sizes, sexes, ethnicity.
If you need more info, either Google or Wikileaks will help.

Wow - your camera seems to have a "fish eye" lens!

I know what you’re saying. It’s a GoPro, and for a period of time it was on the wide setting, which def didn’t help. Good call though.
